I told you days ago, that Gox will not shoot up to Stamp prices, it´s the other way round. Stamp will go down to the Gox area.
Maybe a bit above and they will meet@ around 220$

This is pretty optimistic IMO. 100$ seems more than reasonnable.

Could there have been some major hack attempt involving a bunch of accounts that they have now temporarily frozen?
IDK, why dont they tell us? LOL

BTW i've read that people arent able to withdraw because they have open orders on their accounts.

I have been getting emails last couple of days for the first time from 'support@btcguild.com', with subjects like 'You Lost 3.201 bitcoin', and there is a link to download something (which is obviously malware) in the email.

These emails only started a couple of days ago, and it is the email address I use for my Bitstamp account. I am not registered on BTC Guild.

Is it country specific?, Are people 'not allowed' in the US?

I'm not from US

Also not from US. And of course my coins are not in open orders

@Jorge @KeyserSoze: thanks, it's an interesting topic! I find it amazing that with all our knowledge of cryptography, we still have unsolved mysteries like this Cheesy

Interesting indeed.  I still have two theories that seem compatible with the statistics:  it may be an East Asian language encoded phonetically, or a codebook cypher using some roman-like number system.  But there are problems with both theories. Anyway, if the first one is correct, "decyphering" will require knowledge that I don't have.  If the second one is correct, decyphering may be next to impossible.  Sad

I really don't get it!
Why people still keep BTC @ exchanges...

The same people which laughed @ GOX users.

Bitstamp is not better than GOX. They are amateurs as well. BTC-e is even worse.

Because I am an idiot. I take full responsibility for my loss if my coins at Stamp are gone. I told myself I would withdraw them as soon as I could last time this happened, but then thought meh, I'll keep some coins there.

I've learnt my lesson, hopefully I get the chance to take them out.

Both our accounts at Bistamp are not allowing withdrawals. Could be related.
