I may be naïve?
With a decent bit of money you can build/buy a reasonably good cooling structured building.
Everything for miles around is blasted out of existence every day. Zapped by the sun and the heat.
No more wanky flu germs!
Still, carriers who have virus inside and transmit via mucous (saliva) are immune to radiation from the outside. For cooling you can build underground, with pretty constant temperature and humidity. clay would be the goto material for covering the walls. Electric cooling still has the flaw of growing bacteria, unless you cool with water. And what if the cooling becomes defective, what about power outages, what about food? Living from canned food for weeks? f*ck that, man  Good idea, overall, but there are important downsides to be weighted. OK so I need some domes, and maybe a moat full of crocodiles |

Deserts have snakes. If you want high radiation without bats, snakes or other wild animals, Mars is a good option. The low atmospheric pressure and therefore the need for pressurized spacesuits also help keeping bad stuff out, unless you share habitats, then all bets are off. |

I plan on out-sailing the apocalypse, but am thinking about my anti-piracy measures as there is not much hiding in the open ocean. Unless of course you can pseudo-submarine your vessel just beneath the surface with emergency ballasts.
I figure isolated cold climates are best, as long as you can survive. In the meantime I hope there are enough radios/comms to keep a quarantine economy flourishing

But you know what is really cooking my goose? Fucking BCash. Not because I don't/want it to go up, or down, or sideways. It's not that at all. It is specific to the situation it is in currently. It is sometimes necessary to remember that for the most part Humans are really just hair-less primates that still like to throw poo..just to see what sticks. We have what 500,000 years of that for our entertainment. Now here on bitcointalk and elsewhere from what you say it is kinda the same thing. Monkey See, Monkey Hope'em.....this is the equivalent of tossing poo and hoping it sticks...buy the most obvious sh*tcoins be it the CW cult or BCH and pray to the hope'm gods that all will work out. I suppose a person should be somewhat encouraged... Why are they called ships of the desert? Deserts aren’t always dry, they can be prone to flash floods. Camels are called ships of the desert because they are accomplished swimmers. If you go to Egypt, you can see camels swimming in the Nile. They swim into the mangroves to eat mangrove shoots. |
