Criminality is been drastic since the day life has began. It's been many years, decades and centuries that criminals been roaming around this world. Pointing bitcoin and blame it for those activities made by criminals are just a childish perspective. Do we blame any fiat currency that has been used in many drugs transactions? Money laundering? No, we don't. So be fair to bitcoin as it is just a victim of those propagandists.
We often associate Bitcoin or any kind of Cryptocurrency on the illegal transactions from drugs to online ransoms, but Bitcoin is not the one to blame but the criminals itself in which they are taking advantage of the features of Bitcoin to be untraceable to their side. But I think that the image of Bitcoin of being a money for criminals is now gone as many people even companies accept Bitcoin and can be used to their daily transactions. Money in general is not to blame here, if we want them to stop using Bitcoin for crimes then we must eliminate them not the money.

https://www.deepdotweb.com/2016/01/23/bitcoin-playing-an-increased-role-in-crime-europol-says/

Would you believe that the existence of bitcoin has increased the number of criminality in  some countries in the world. This is the issue that was being thrown by the EuroPol and the UK Metropolitan Police. According to them bitcoin has played a huge role on the increasing criminality in their area. They added that a huge number of cybercriminals were using bitcoins in their activities.

This just shows that as bitcoin develops both advantages and disadvantages will tag along.

Agreed with you, there are some criminals who has started to accept the bitcoins while performing the criminal activities. It has been very difficult for the police department to trace these criminals as there are no transaction trails. I think no one can stop these criminals from using the bitcoins as it is easy and safest way for them to complete the criminal/ illegal transactions;  that's why bitcoins are gaining popularity among the criminals also.

Of course, bitcoins can be used by criminals for bad purposes, but crime existed before the appearance of bitcoin and the Internet. Bitcoin is not to blame for the fact that people commit bad deeds.

Like no one can stop the criminals from using dollar, euro and whatever you want. Otherwise, it would be already stopped. The real criminals don't use Bitcoin, they use other cryptocurrencies which are more efficient regarding anonymity. Those using Bitcoin may regret it in some months/years

No doubt the anonymity that bitcoin offers are being used to the advantage of criminals to do illegal transactions but the thing is, even without bitcoin, if a person really wants to do a crime, there's really no stopping him doing so. It just goes to show that the world is really full of bad people.

Because of bitcoin anonymity it is possible to anyone that they can send and recieve bitcoins without giving any personally identifying information. that's why some criminals use bitcoin to buy things that is illegal for example criminals or bad people can buy drugs using bitcoin on dark net,it is the easy and safest way they can do without giving their real identity.

Bitcoin is a digital money and criminality is always with money so there is no question about the correlation between this two, it is just the matter who uses it and where do they use it. If you don't to use Bitcoin because it is so evil then don't, a matter of choice also.

Bitcoin can help many people. One of the main reason for criminality is money. Even the bitcoin involves money it is not the source of criminality because criminality is from the greed of people. People can earn from bitcoin that needs hard work but because of greedy people and who want to get rich instant then they can do wrong and criminality can happen.

I have no doubt that some criminals use bitcoin to transfer money or ask for ransom.
But they can do the same theing with dollars, euros or gold.
About a year ago, the reports in the news were mostly abput these things.
Luckily that has changed.
That means that either criminlas do not use bitcoins anymore, or the media don't report it anymore.
I suspect a little bit of both. It got more difficult to convert bitcoin into fiat without identification, that scares the criminals away.
And the media can not always report the same stuff, that scares the audience away.

nicely put there mate. It is either none of the criminals are transacting bitcoin in their illegal transactions nor media are reporting it. But yes, criminals can always find ways as to what to use to pay or received with their illegal transactions whether it is bitcoin, monero, other altcoins, and even fiat money.

yes I often hear some criminals or hackers using bitcoins. even move the stolen money on the wallet.
I think there will be new innovations to narrow down such problems.
but for crime, I think in the real world the same. crime is everywhere.

the biggest criminal related to bitcoin I've ever heard is money laudering in Btc-e.nz, It affected to a lot of people in the whole word and of course It makes bitcoin more popular in the whole world but in the bad way. Because in bitcoin you can hide your real identity when you make any transaction, nobody know who send or received bitcoin that why a lot of people take avantages of that case to do bad thing but they forget 1 thing that police can find out who they are with their ip address Smiley)

Since the begin some people had used bitcoin to hide their black business, and well bitcoin went into the bad reputation due to silk road that were working with bitcoin. There is no way to control the use and who use bitcoin since its a freedom currencie and if you have money you can have it. Bitcoin isnt much different from fiat problems, its just a bit more harder to trace the bitcoins then trace fiat, but this will still without solution.

the real world of evil will never escape from human life.
and for crime in cyberspace. the hackers are calculating from dollars exchanged with bitcoin. it is difficult to trace its existence.
I often see from television, or foreign news. really sad.
hopefully fore bitcoin can overcome this sort of thing. by getting around vitur and innovation about criminality.

Wrong,
crime already existed before Bitcoin.

it is not good to call bitcoin the black money because the criminality was already there when the bitcoin came into being. So it will not be good to say that bitcoin made criminality grow…it is not the bitcoin but the criminals that are making the criminality spread all around so it is up to the user that how they use bitcoin for good purpose or the bad so we cannot blame the innocent bitcoin for this reason.

What do you propose?
That we start enforcing bitcoin transactions? That miners block transactions from certain addresses?

How will this police define criminality?
Get used to it. Bitcoin is used buying ice cream and shrooms. Just like the dollar.
Is the guy that buys the shrooms that is guilty not the $ or BTC

Totally agree with you, because of there are some people who made crime with bitcoins, doesn't mean we can blame bitcoins and another altcoins, all of digital coins are not for crime activity, they have good purposes to build digital coins to be more good in the future. Everything depend on the user's digital coins what's will be done with them.

These are all attempts by the government to blame bitcoin. They have already started a smear campaign of bitcoin. In fact the government is stealing perfectly Fiat and in my eyes they are greater criminals than those who uses for illegal transactions bitcoin.
