There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Could be wrong, but I don't think it means anything. I think it's just an automatic renewal done by cloudflare (since the site is still using cloudflare).

I have around 25M EMB & 0.051 BTC on coinsmarkets, which for me is a lot but for others maybe not so, but that's besides the point.

What we are talking about here is an exchange; a marketplace in which we trade assets, it's not just a website that can go down without a massive problem, we're talking about possibly 100's of millions!!!! and they take THIS LONG to rectify it?!

What CM's have done is unacceptable even if they come back online. I will be taking out everything I have a saying good riddance, if they can do it once what would stop them doing it again? They clearly don't care about their users aside from our money.

Which brings me to a point: If they do come back online, they must know that people would just sell & withdraw everything they own on there and go to a more stable exchange, meaning they're not likely to come back online because of that reason.

What really gets me boiled is if I could have made a few trades that I desired to make I would have been up $50K+ right now and that's no BS! So as you can imagine I'm angry! And I know many of you have similar stories.

But my heart goes out to people that have even more money and now valuable assets in that exchange and even to the ones that have less but it hurts them more.

Here's a pick: Invest in Self Key (Not my pick, I paid over $2k for a course and mentorship in crypto and this was a solid pick - do your own research but hopefully it can make you some money).

What they have done is wrong and they should be sued (I'm not a legal person), surely a legal professional can shed some light as to what should and can be done in this situaton???

It's ridiculous that they are even allowed to re-open, we're not talking a day or 2 here, we're talking well over 2 weeks now! I went on holiday and came back and the same problem was still here, it's BS man! I wouldn't trust them again, even if they gave me free bitcoin lol.

Together though as a community and a people who are invested in this space must be able to do something about this cyber crime, because that's what it is people a frickin CRIME!

Exchanges are supposed to be reliable and especially exchanges in our space the crypto-world our world is so volatile so we need trustworthy and reliable exchanges to facilitate our buying and selling - simple! CM's stood up to that challenge then failed to deliver, surely, surely something from a legal standpoint CAN be done??!

Anyway RANT over, hope this helps anyone in whatever way, I'm just like you I lost a lot of money here and I'm hurt and angry that others have to. It's disgusting.

They fucked up. That much is certain. Of all the people that lost money because of their actions, you can believe there are more than a few that are capable of finding the owner/s and getting some "payback" in a manner that is less than agreeable to them. You can't fuck that many people without paying some sort of price. I am in no way condoning violence, but simply looking at it from a statistical point of view.

Im a hot month into crypto and I feel like the only 2 places I can trade and not get robbed is binance and kucoin

I repeat I only feel safe there. I feel like I could send $10,000 to the exchange and trade without worry or fear of getting robbed

Even now as I look at the at mining and I see only hitbit or some other exchanges that accept certain coins and it's not even worth mining some fucking coins if the only exchanges to sell on, are going to rob you.

They all start out nice and then they pull shady shit and it's never the same again. I was following the cryptopia/PAC scandal and saw who everyone who invested got ripped off because they couldn't sell

Same shit with Coinbase when Bitcoin crash y halt trading to prevent people from buying in cheap and prevent people from selling

They're probably preparing for the big market boom after this crypto crash.

Instead of giving me the message "an email has been sent, please go check it" i'm now just getting "wrong login info".

I get that people can make threats of violence, but if someone kills this guy, you know how many of us get our money back? 0%.

Someone needs to track him down, and help him get this site back up. Once that happens, the rest of us could probably care less about their future.

If it does come up, and that's a big if... I'll personally be glad it was down during the sea of blood I just witnessed, because it forced me not to panic sell my biggest investments to date. Funny how that works.

I've got an ounce of hope left. It's a small ounce, but it's still there. It dwindles with time, and eventually time will be up for this guy. I just hope that we get our money back before that happens.

I cant login anymore to see my coins. Maybe because they are migrating. Let hope the site will be back so we can withdraw our coins.

Someone else can weigh in, but to me this sounds like a step in the wrong direction, not the right one. It sounds like the website is becoming even less functional.

You get that error if you're not logged in and try to login when this message is showing

"An operation on a socket could not be performed because the system lacked sufficient buffer space or because a queue was full."

i've been getting this a lot lately. Since today. So I figure, they're still working on it. Good sign I guess

Or my account is no longer on the old server, and is instead on the new one. I don't know the process for server migration these days. I haven't worked in IT since 2007.

I see those guys from CoinsMarkets.com absolutely do not hurry...

It appears that their technician/engineers (whatever they call it) are somehow "incompetent" in their job and thus provide a very slow progress in solving their problems. They are offline for almost 3 weeks now and the coins that have been stuck there should be making a lot more if they just fixed it in a short period of time. I wouldn't be surprised if they indeed turned into scamsite now. This is the main reason why I am skeptical to pools/exchanges that promote for your coins to be locked in their own website. You don't have the control over your coins and once these issues arise, you are really f*cked up.

Look at the chart for ECA and set it to 1 day:

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/electra/#charts

The price has stayed fairly consistent, but just within the last hour the market cap which was previously around 4 million briefly dropped to zero and then shot up to 109 million.

So this would mean that, the circulating supply of ECA that coinmarketcap can detect instantly jumped from around 900 million to around 22 billion. Where is it seeing all that ECA?

I really hope you mean that somehow CMC is 'seeing' the coins at Coinsmarkets and that this is the sign we were hoping for?
