Well I bottled it and asked burnside to transfer my shares to direct so I can sleep at night.

Not sure if that was a good idea...

they are not as liquid but you're not relying on any third party, it's just you and friendcat Smiley

Bullish ASICMINER share holders are bullish. I give 2@1.97
lol

perhaps a stupid question, but are there any other common places for auctioning direct AM shares besides on bitcointalk forum? (share transfer from exchanges, personal arrangements via pm or mail excluded)

I think the forums are the best place for AM auctions.

thanks, just want to be sure that's the only place to check usual span of value. i thought quite negative about not buying on an exchange at first but during the last weeks is see that this illiquidity has also its positive aspects (security and higher value)

Hey guys  Smiley,
can you briefly get me into the picture? What happened to ASICMINER? Hashrate is 3% and PTs are for 1.431btc. Last time I checked it was around 3.5btc and hashrate higher. Is it still Bitfury and KNC the main competition? Are they shipping?

And...

Is it safe to buy on btctc.co or why everybody want direct shares now? Something happened with btctc.co?

Thanks a lot. I think this will be usefull for others too  Smiley

btct.co will be closed soon and shares have to be moved to another trading platform (havelock or bitfunder).
I don't think it's unsafe, but it would be a hassle to buy at btct.co now.

I go so far that I say: it's safe.

As long as BTCT is open, you are able to trade AM shares there or export them to BF or HL. After the closure - as intended in Octobre or not intended earlier for whatever reason - all remaining shares should be converted to direct shares. Friedcat receives the list with all shareholders frequently for exactly this case and as far as I know: he is prepared. Make sure your public withdrawal address is one you can control.

The only failure I see here is an unintended shutdown between the time of the last report to friedcat and the next one. Asset issuers receive the list with all shareholders two times a day at 06:00 and 18:00 UTC.

Do you guys think ASIC MINER will announce new products before November 15? If not when?

I sell Bhut Jolokia "Ghost" Chili seeds and other hot pepper seeds for BTC. PM me for details.

It would seem prudent to just take the shares directly.  It seems like only a matter of time before the other exchanges close as well.

I agree 100%. And probably in the others exchanges we don't get that lucky and maybe we could lose some in the progress.
Thanks to burnside for the great work!

what are the predictions of AM for the next week?  low/high div, big sell off, rally, what?

I see the value on btct slowly declining until Oct 7, but the value on BF will gradually increase, but not much.

In a similar vein to you, I see the value on the exchanges declining.

I bet that any upwards momentum will not be seen until at least mid October.

A low downward trend - the lack of liquidity by btct closure is the near-term concern.  Bitfunder and Haverlock may very well follow.

Mid-Term, it is all about when AM gets the new gen 2 hashing and what the performance is compared to competition.

The lack of liquidity/down fall of BTCT is a short term concern; if the security/stability of BTC security exchanges remains in question i think its not going to be good for any btc denominated stock.

With only increasing regulatory scruitiny, it is more likely than not that bitfunder and haverlock will go the same way as btct.

Havelock is in Canada where regulators have given bitcoin a pass.  All they need to do is make an attempt to dissuade U.S. citizens from investing.
