When re-creating wallet from seed in other languages make sure you don't miss any special dots/symbols etc. during copy/paste.
Most of the time problems generally doesn't happen in Linux terminals and in windows you may require that language pack.

That is strange because I have a full language support on my PC and just copy/paste the seed from the old wallet. But it I always get "Error while recovering wallet using seed err Invalid Seed". However, I don't have so many coins in my old wallet...

Looks like you'r not understanding what I'm saying... I don't want to see the source code, I want it to be free software.

I let Dero team work, fo course. But still I can talk about things which I don't see correct neither smart.

You wrote this:

It's few developers cause they are NOT releasing the code as free software. That makes a crypto project weak and with high probability of failure.
...

What part of "releasing the code as free software" do you think I misunderstood?

Do you ever read anything, or are you just waiting for even the slightest excuse to whine like a toddler who didn't get his favorite apple sauce?

You can't open the old wallet file in the new wallet-cli directly. You can either:

1) Restore your old wallet from the 25 word seed in the new wallet-cli.

2) Create a brand new wallet in the new wallet-cli and send all your coins from old to new.

Of course this has only been explained multiple times in the last few pages as well as on Slack, so how could you be expected to know.

Option 2 doesn't work anymore because the old network is dropped. He need's to restore from seed words or keys.

Good, that simplifies it even more then.

Hey I've just updated to the new Daemon

why does it show my balance like this

deRoMDpU 56215/56215 XXXXX   | 392.08

why is there 392 in yellow?

Can you restart your pc, restart the daemon, and if the balance has not updated please use the rescan_bc followed by rescan_spent commands

Yellow means it is locked for 10 confirmations. However, we still have a few minor changes to make as sometimes a balance will incorrectly show that it is locked until the steps above are performed.

Hey Serena, you do a good job FYI Grin

They're all locked now, I'm not too bothered as I'm not going to spend them any time soon, will this fix itself over time?

It's a display bug in wallet. Type 'balance' command in the wallet and will unlock all yellow coins.

Okay, thank you very much on behalf of the team for the feedback!

We should have an update that solves the balance not displaying properly for a few people very soon. Your Dero are safe and there, we just have to make a few adjustments  Smiley

This color functionality was added to help but looks it adding rather than solving.
Use balance cmd. Few terminals doesn’t behave as expected in displaying colors.

I saw this warning in the Electroneum thread about Cryptopia having major issues with their wallet after the .dat file grew to 4.6GB:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2353282.msg33804903#msg33804903

Probably not an issue for the typical user, but could be a problem with exchanges.

"We dug through the code and found there was a hardcoded limit on the wallet file size of 1 GB, inherited from Monero."

I'm not an expert by any means so I might missed something and my thought is nonsense but this must have to do something with the fact that ETN has a huge supply so tx sizes should be also considerably bigger, right? We don't hear about such problems with Monero and Dero's total supply is the same. So I guess this must be another fail of ETN devs' quick copy&paste job lol. Correct me if I'm wrong.

From what I heard they also were attacked yesterday, similar to dero. I believe their issues have more to do with this. But it didn’t sound like they handled the attack near as well as dero so great job devs!!!

You identified the part that I figured would most apply to DERO - a hard-coded limit on the wallet file size that is intended to prevent overly-long times in loading the file and executing transactions, etc., on it.

However, eventually ANY wallet.dat file will grow beyond reason given enough activity/use if there isn't some means of archiving old transactions. I felt that pointing out the issue with ETN/Cryptopia might give the DERO devs a head-start on dealing with the problem before it becomes a problem, so to speak.

I have created a telegram for DERO here is the link everyone: https://t.me/DEROCOIN

I have also invited the developers to join  Cool

Very interesting programming and I like the project.

Please be advised that nobody from the Dero team is in this channel, it is not an official channel, and we had no involvement in setting it up.

We will not be joining this channel.

This is not a problem for Dero. These things were solved with the new code

It has been tested to make sure it can handle millions of transactions without errors

The pool sometimes gives temp bans for 10 minutes. We will look into relaxing this a little while into the future
