Is quark coin profitable to mine? From all the calculators I've seen, it barely makes money just mining it (not including power). How and why are people mining this?

I'm mining this indirectly, using a multipool (hashco.ws). Otherwise, I think people that mine this are more interested in securing the network, calculators are for people that are constantly dumping their coins for increasingly more miserable rates of return.

Imagine a future where IT infrastructures monitor themselves, are able to predict and respond to future business needs and can protect and heal themselves automatically.

QRK is up again?
What do you mean? We've got a very active community and have many projects on the go - and Shaq-Fu, a major video game that features Shaquille O'Neal (a very big celebrity in the US) just met its funding goal, meaning it will be released across all major consoles. Quark is going to be a means of in game payment for downloadable content in the game, meaning that Quark is the first crypto to have an agreement in place to be an actual means of payment inside a major video game, and, in fact one that will be released widely on all major consoles.

Not sure why with the good news people are selling at under 4000 Satoshi, are people losing their nerve and getting out of cryptos all together?? Oh well, more for me I guess. The Shaq fu game going to consoles is great, I'm not sure people understand how big a deal this is. The best thing that can happen is this, I'll try to spell it out. I'll buy the game on Playstation 3 for example, and I'll do so on the Playstation Store, and download it digitally. Now I want to buy some Quark to use in game. Wouldn't it be likely that the option to BUY QUARK is on THE PLAYSTATION STORE itself as Downloadable content for the game? Now let's say the game itself allows you to send excess Quark to a wallet address. Congratulations, you are now buying Quark with a credit card on a secure online platform accessed through your TV, and sending it to your wallet.

They are going to set up a platform where we can show our ideas and suggestions, see this Thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=597180.new#new. I say lets forward your ideas to them! Also doesn't microsoft for xbox has to officially support crypto? won't they block it?

Part of getting a game on a console is playing along with their rules. Both Xbox and PSN have built in payment systems that track what you have ordered and it might be beyond the scope of an independent game company to get around that. In the end it may only be possible to integrate Quark payment system into the PC version which is still super awesome. Console versions maybe could still have some reference to Quark for promo?

Yeah, I had thought that this might be the case - we will have to see. We'll be working with them on this and can hopefully negotiate work-arounds. Its gonna be a really interesting journey I think. Its possible that maybe we could have them credit an account tied to the game on a webpage and then grant access to DLC via an online portal or something. Hard to say at this stage. Vic

Website looks pretty nice, and that's a lot of payment options! What sort of security mechanisms will you have in place?
