So where is everyone moving to trading till they figure something out? Mintpal? Glad I dont have all my eggs in one basket!
Am guessing buy CTM on Mintpal and unload it on coinex when it opens back up?

Hey erun and captainfuture and all the gang at coinex,

we are with you

You guys have the best exchange, the best people on the chatbox

It has been a pleasure trading with you.  Hope you can open up again.

I had probably 0.5-1 btc in various coins (which is a lot for me) so this affects me too but I'd like to share something with all the other users here.

ALL COINS IN AN EXCHANGE ARE AT RISK.

Perhaps as a security measure, you can add email confirmation for withdrawals (for stolen passwords and such), and as a grand idea, as in real financial markets, we should have a clearing house.

I can help with that, but the clearing house would clear trades for all exchanges and would be hosted in a reputable country such as canada with strong laws and with technology such as the banks use.  we got to up the game, these hackers deserve to be hanged.  my 2 cents.

Please stop posting FUD about CoinEx, we will issue an announcement within next 24hrs about how we are going to handle the situation.

Long story short: yes, our wallet server got hacked and all funds were withdrawn.

Please read back to the beginning of this thread, we had such a problem before and *returned all the stolen funds from our own pockets*. Before this hack happened, we also had several attacks that lost funds and we silently covered those from our fees.

For those who was stalking me at internets: thats true, i was trying to hide/delete my accounts. At the very first moment i saw zero balance at our bitcoin wallet i knew this was coming. And it scared the shit out of me. Hope you can understand that.
About me selling bitcoins at localbitcoins.com: thats true too. I have 33mh/s scrypt gpu mining farm, I have >50% of coinex fees + I get % from cryptostocks share sells. Nothing criminal here again.

So again, please calm down. We are not doing a runner.

The only way i can see to restore this is to sell more shares at cryptostocks to cover the losses *and to hire a professional security audit team to prevent this from happening again*.
Long story short, we're covering this from our own pockets again.

Thanks
- erundook

After all the funds given back to the users and everything is settled, please let us know a BTC address that everyone can donate. Somehow that may help you and coinex.pw.
We can do our best. I am sure there are people will donate some.

Thanks for being honest and explaining the situation in detail.

Best.

dude, Coinex, erundick, whatever your name is...you're a fuckin asshole.  people were pleading with you for over 24 hours to just say ANYTHING about the situation and you refused.  what do you really have to gain from not sending a single tweet a few hours after the original to say that you're still dealing with the problems or whatever.

i have no faith in you whatsoever, and am happy that I have a policy of never keeping money on any exchange unless I'm in the middle of a buy (which I was).  I'm counting this as a loss and a great reminder that people who run crypto exchanges and raise funds with "crypto stocks" are some of the sketchiest people on the planet.

anyone who puts any trust in this guy or "donates" to him is a damn fool.

And with that you just forfeited any balance you had with them.

i hope that is the case because it will just validate everything I said.  and I reiterate, I've already counted this as a loss and am certainly not expecting any repayment, or even the site to come back online.  but that's all stuff I had already prepared for, as this is a reality in the world of cryptocurrency.

my main beef, though, is the deafening silence from the site admin coupled with the deletion of his personal twitter account.  why do this with no explanation if you're not thieving?  i just don't get it.  and now everyone is thanking and well-wishing this prick just for making a forum post 2 days after the event?  IMO, this kind of behavior from a (wannabe) financial institution is completely unacceptable to me and I think we should all be punishing Coinex by taking our business elsewhere forever.  they have proven themselves incompetent both in the technical/security aspect and in customer service.

and I only lost .06 BTC.....can't imagine how much longer this rant would be if I had any real money lost in this fuck up.  my condolences to those that suffered meaningful losses.

https://cryptostocks.com/securities/79

don't buy crypto stocks, thats the sketchiest thing ever.  How is the company under any obligation to report their numbers accurately?  the crypto SEC? LOL   people get scammed all day every day in the real stock markets and they are subject to laws.  crypto stocks are just a no-holds-barred free-for-all where white collar criminals can rape the shit out of you financially.  also, 80000 public shares issued and only a couple thousand sold???  that sounds fucking awful; like the worst penny stock ever but they want to sell to you for .04 btc per share?  WTF?!?!

STAY AWAY

Coinex had my email address so when did this all happen and this minute I just shut down my farm. OUCH! I feel for you all but I lost my job in January and needed the hope of the market and mining. working NOW FOR LESS AND HOPING TO RETIRE THIS WAS MY SOON TO BE POT OF GOLD. SO who MOVED THE CHEESE!?! Smiley, How will this all even out and donations sound great for you all but I am on the brink of disaster and this hurts. At least the other part of my empire is running bitcoins but even Blackarrow bumped us from Feb to May with the difficulties running even higher. So my experience in mining now is double ouch and small earings for bitcoins spent. Erdoonk (sorry for spelling) I feel your hurt and all of the ecoin markets getting banged by hackers , mis-managed, and tapouts by manufacturing. Hopefully the world will still believe in ecoinz when this is all done!
Sorry for the rant but I am all played out!

Same situation with me, got 4x 280x mining more than one month for 0.9+ BTC and now got nothing. That's all I had Sad I'm keeping fingers crossed for CoinEX

...if CoinEX wants to be a business it needs to learn some business skills.  EVERYONE should have had an email in their inbox the moment a security issue was noticed which required the site to be offline, not a friggin tweet.  Then follow-ups should have happened regularly, with expectations set in the previous msg's.  If not you lose customers, plain and simple.

edit: not to mention losing credibility and allowing FUD to run wild.

Imagine a moment when the rival platforms used a hackers group to destabilize CoinEx? OK, no further paranoia..

Because I am a BTC militant and customer devotee of the CoinEx, know (pay attention please erun ') that I am also voluntary to make donation in LTC to reduce the losses, but if you put it the best of you that I can get back my various coins; do not hesitate to write me please. Deeply the return and thank you for the update!:) Holy Bring back

Erundook,
I want to say thank you and sorry for my part in the FUD. After MTGox I guess my short hairs were raised. The site has always been amazing, even through the hiccups, which were sorted out pretty quickly. I can imagine how stressed you are right now while trying to reconcile the damage and reading all the FUD. I don't want my coins back and I will be buying your crytostocks to help out. Hope you can post some donation addresses for those of us "morons" who want to help.

If you can get Coinex.pw back up I'm sure you will have plenty of backers. If not, I wish you and the Captain well!

How can We / I / Us, do to Help? Smiley

Or need any help,

This is what we the open source community is here for, to figure out how to help stop this from happening again and how to work together and flucking epic Smiley

I have some ideas, as I am sure a lot of others here do as well, that could help the system, not be such a tool... Tongue

Let's roll, Quick, to the bitcave!

Totes!, lol

Wait.  This is all a big bad joke, right?

All my LOT, Vert and EAC coins are now gone...vanished...poof?

..........................................

Wow, so is there even any sort of recourse, or that's just it...we accept it and move on?  Do you even have records of everyone's account balances BEFORE the hack?

Wow.  I'm sorry but this is unbelievable.  I'm having a hard time just sitting here and saying 'it's no biggie, I just lost over $800 in coins but so long as you get the site up and running, I'll forget about all my losses and support you guys.'

This is what I'm saying. WHY THE HELL WAS THERE NOT SO MUCH AS EVEN AN EMAIL SENT TO USERS?!?!?! Wow.  I had a lot of various coins just stored on your site that I didn't think of touching due to trusting you all.  Now all the sudden I have to find all this out by trying to log into your site and following a twitter link?

Again, if you guys make good on refunding all the stolen coins that are due to their customers, I will support you going forward.  But if you're just going to pack up and leave and let people bleed out their ass, then the hell with you all...you're as bad as the supposed 'hackers,' if they even existed.  Would like to see some blockchain proof of these hacks as well.

The burden of proof is all on YOU guys, not us customers.  You are the ones running the business, and we're the ones paying you to use it.
