I will repeat my idea again as a solution for AM to make it easier to send AM while saving us from spam. You charge 1 nxt as messaging fee to send AM to an account but allow the sender to resend any amount of messages he wants to that same account within 1440 blocks. 1440 blocks after the 1st msg he has to pay 1 nxt msg fee to send AM again. If he wants to send to a NEW account he must pay 1 nxt msg to send AM to this NEW account. After paying this 1 nxt fee he can send any amount of messages to this NEW account for 1440 blocks etc. etc. WHY THIS IS GOOD: 1) It allows you to freely communicate to another account but saves us from spam because its quite stupid to spam the same account & if you want to spam all accounts you have to still pay 1 nxt per msg. 2) To prevent bloat the blockchain can be shrinked on a Bi-yearly or even Quarterly basis....pls note that all AM's will be removed during regular shrinking operations.

Providers releasing names is really bad precedent. The NXT lynch mob might want to take a few minutes to think about a solution with less unintended consequences like asking the provider to not launder the stolen NXT.
It might also be an opportunity for the provider to use his knowledge of the accused as leverage to encourage him/her to return the NXT. This would be a big PR win for all without eroding privacy.

Do they work in batches, maybe? I know DGEX does. Not in batches, but it takes from 2 to 6 hours in my experience.

And I think you misunderstand hiberNXT - just because it doesnt have a public key associated with it does NOT mean that nobody knows the password to the account.
Think about your very first NXT account you had when someone sent you some NXT but you had no outgoing transactions. Those funds in your NXT account were hiberNXT. The only difference is you did know its password, you just hadnt used it yet.
Nope, I fully understand the difference between darkNXT and hiberNXT. DarkNXT is effectively like sunken treasure on a ship that has sunk to the bottom of the ocean. If you are somehow smart enough to hack the entrance code (or maybe have a trapdoor to find it?) , it's pretty much morally yours under salvage law. HiberNXT is, as you say, sitting there waiting for somebody who deliberately created the passcode to use it for the first time. Like possibly a "well known and reputable NXT community member" who did so four times in a 180 second window after a three-week cool-down period. As I've always said, something scary is going on that we STILL haven't gotten to the bottom of. And I'm not the man to go down this mean street... http://quotes.dictionary.com/down_these_mean_streets_a_man_must_gowell my point is that it is IMPOSSIBLE for the community to tell the difference between the 2 categories you have broken it up into. Well that is, for the near future. If one of thes non-public key accounts goes live in the near future then we can safely assume that it was someones intentional stash. In the future though, we wont be able to tell the difference between it being someones stash or if it got cracked open.

This would allow someone to add 1MB+ or more per day for a single NXT.. Unrealistic.

I agree with this, very dangerous to know privacy can be given up on a whim, even if it was for someone who is malicious.

NXT VPS Server Donations can be sent here: 6044921191674841550At the end of each month I will donate some of them back to the community. This is separate from my main wallet so you can keep track of them. I will keep them in there and only use them for hosting.

@ forums.nxtcrypto team I forgot my password. The FAQ says don't worry - resetlink is at the login-screen. No it's not. No contact info anywhere. Clicking the "team"-link in the bottom requires me to login. I'm pretty stuck, and I need to post in your forum… Please show me the way, PM me here, so we don't have to polute this thread. NXTers need to talk about the value of money here… ?? I think everyone needs to request from btc24 for this functionality. Or he should respond in this thread to the requests.

One issue is we seem to have Nxters split across 3 (or more) forum. And the nxtcrypto forum is too bloated visually; I like compact visuals, and that forum looks like it was designed by drawing on a balloon with a magic marker. Then again, I'm an old usenet holdout that hates most modern web forums, so I'm a bad judge of what's 'good'.
I keep asking btc24/adminius about adding ability to reset password. Also I dont like the new theme either. So I preempt the style: https://forums.nxtcrypto.org/index.php?style=1

If someone really wanted to do it there is nothing really stopping them.

Unfortunately they already have been laundered, as in they were cashed out for BTC yesterday morning. At this point the only step left is confronting the account that received the stolen NXT and get their side of the story. If they purchased the NXT from someone else, we want to know who that person was they received it from. I would hope dgex is doing a little bit of research into the situation. Privacy is important to maintain I agree. At this point its all hearsay anyway. All I know is that if I had purchased the stolen NXT I would come forward with the name of who I purchased them from. So I would think dgex will be able to quite easily get this information from the reputable account holder that sold the NXT. You would think the reputable member would continue to be reputable and pass this information along to the community, otherwise how reputable are they?

Then it will probably suffer from similar fate or may be worse. forums.crypto is actually a good one, DOS protected with good people managing there. It will get better with time.
If I see much pressure from the community as a whole, I as the DNS admin for nxtcrypto.org domain can help someone else run with forums. Im NOT going to make this decision myself though, and I really do mean "much pressure from the community as a whole" It was my whole point in setting up the 'NXT Foundation' in a decentralized model with different people responsible for different areas. I like to think we all are doing this work for the community as a whole. So if people start having issues with the www/info/forums sites then we can get the people running it to change it or we can just set up a new site and repoint DNS A records.

- an API which by passing an asset id to show all accounts owning qtys of the asset
What r u going to use it for? Lets talk about this... This is the point where I start to get concerned. At first I thought that to view an accounts qty of each different asset would require to provide the accounts passphrase, and not just be able to to use the public acct #. But face it, cant the blockchain be scanned for this data anyways? And we can already do a singleAPI call for any account's NXT balance as well. So Do we really gain anything by not providing the data?

Can somebody confirm that for vanity generators the position of digits is not important?
I.e. these two are equivalent in terms of computations required:
000----------000 ---0-00-0-00----
It looks like we will have to scramble the order...
Also with the new address format, vanity generators will have to work with binary 5-bit symbols, not decimal digits.

Before you go and blow a major hole in somebody's reputation, you've got to make damn sure you're right. I didn't release EpicThomas' real world name in the beginning because I wasn't 100% sure I had the right guy until later on. Hopefully Graviton is doing the same thing. I recommend patience for a few days.
This. I'm surprised that it even needs to be spelled out like this. But...Graviton was asking for trouble when he said the account belongs to a "well known and respected member of the Nxt community." That's like waving a bloody steak in front of rabid gossip hounds.

The only thing that can be able to force someone is a court order. big booboo by Gravitron, much as I would like to see this all resolved.
