They should finally start trading in EUR, which would eliminate all the strange conversion fees.

1. I have a problem with the exchange rate of their bank: http://www.unicreditbank.si/tecajna_lista/?t=1&id_menu=&language=ENG The spread as of today is 108 pips. This looks like a standard exchange rate for an average small and medium enterprise that has one small transaction per month. This is a robbery - the spread on your MT4 at the most shitty bucket shop is 5 pips. My spread is 0.5 pip for EURUSD.

2. I suspect Bitstamp gets much better rates from their bank given Bitstamp's scale of operations. Besides their bank is a member of CLS. The real spread for Bitstamp and their clients should be below 5 pips.

3. The fee for accepting funds - WTF? When you trade via Interactive Brokers (or other retail brokers) or all institutional brokers in fiat economy you get paid interest on your unused funds! It is unheard of to be charged for depositing money!

4. If Bitstamp wants to earn money, they should charge more for their exchange fees, not use the cheap banking tricks.

@Nejc Kodric Please announce well in advance when you will be forced to comply with the US regulations, and require all kinds of verification even to withdraw BTC, the way gox was. I want to be able to leave Bitstamp before that hassle starts. Thanks.

Thank you for the advanced warning! Will withdraw all funds before that verification mess starts. It was nice on Bitstamp, while we were free of the Big Brother.

It has everything to do with US regulations, because Bitstamp deals in USD, and has many US customers. It would have to drop all of them, if it were to decide not to submit to Big-Brother Central regulations.

Secondly, if you look at the Bitstamp TOS, you won't see Slovenia mentioned. You will see that they are subject to UK England laws under Regulation and Jurisdiction sections.

Furthermore, it says that "The Services we provide are currently unregulated within the UK." So, if they have no regulatory pressure in the UK, they would not have announced verification right after the Bitcoin Foundation meeting with the Washington regulatory cabal.

And please, no nonsense about how that was just a coincidence.

But those things take time, even though they have bought processing power from the NSA.
