Yacoin was the first Scrypt N coin.

The only difference was the starting N factor.

But we see that vertcoin is not interesting to big investors. All likes to play with shitcoins that are creating every new day.
Right now we see that every shitcoin's developer makes it "very secure, anonymous" and bla bla bla and we see that peoples likes it despite that shitcoins is nothing, just a new little piece of shit in ocean of new created altcoins =)
I'm confused. Problem is not in sellers, problem is in buyers. They are just absent at this moment. Why? What do they want?

At the macro level, it feels that the entire Altcoin market has been drying up the last few months. There is not much liquidity going in. Even those coins that are rising are doing so without any special amount of volume. Even if Vert were to rise back to $2 dollar levels, it wouldnt mean much because its not as though someone who is holding 5k would be able to liquidate them easily. Buy support has gone down overall. The industry seems to have lost steam. My belief is that it will stay stagnant until the next wave of interest rushes into BTC and new investors enter the market.

+1
Well said!

This isn't a Vertcoin "issue".

All crypto's are suffering as we speak. I believe however, that this trend will soon be inverted. And when that time comes, a lot of people will remember this moments. Maybe when PayPal start to accept bitcoins we'll see that boom!

Someone said once, big crisis are also big opportunities (or something like that), and that's how I see it.

Vertcoin is a remarkable coin in multiple aspects. If Vertcoin does not succeed, none will.

Yacoin was the first Scrypt N coin.

The only difference was the starting N factor.

Fucking noobs.

Ditto turtoro.

But look to the bright side. Some times is actually amusing. Like those short comedy moments on a action movie  Grin

Some of you already may know, for those who dont, Vertlet, the Vertcoin iOS Wallet, was rejected from the App Store. For some odd reason, Apple only allows wallet apps for Bitcoin, Litecoin and Dogecoin.

When they can reject Bitcoin in the past due to bias , what to expect of them.

they want their btc back that they lost in said shitcoin pump and dumps and ipo-scams. Scams is draining the good old coins. Just watch the ethereum-disaster unfold. You know where the investors money is going: down the drain. More worthwhile coins at cheaper prices for me. They are going to buy back from me once they wake up to reality.

What about vertcoin now? Where is the problem with that? Did it fail? If so: why?

edit:
ah, i see, your freakin' inflation. Surprise, surprise. When is it going to halve/reduce reward for the first time?

What I find interesting is how people still think that multipools are not a problem. It's not even just a specific coin's problem anymore. It's affecting the whole alt universe. How you ask? How did people mine BTC before? GPUs. Once FPGAs and ASICs started hitting the market they got pushed out. Since then alts have been springing up left and right. Then, multipools came around allowing for GPU miners to once again effectively mine BTC by taking advantage of the alt market. All the BTC invested in the alt market is slowly being siphoned out by multipools. What do you think GPU miners do with the BTC they get from multipools? invest it back into the alt market? pssshhhhh. Hell, even the multipools themselves don't take 2% fees in the alt currencies they are mining. They're taking the BTC. Don't be delusional and think multipools are good for alts by "securing the coin". They are glorified alt to BTC filters is what they are and they are slowly sucking the life out of the market. Look at the coins that are showing any signs of success. Cryptonote, and guess what, there arent any cryptonote multipools out yet (well, there are claims but I haven't seen any working). Investors and coin holders shouldn't have to worry about losing money simply because a coin is going throw a slow phase. Hell, miners can't even mine and HODL anymore. If you hold the multipoolers are going to rip you apart slowly, piece by piece, one block reward at a time.

Latest update from the Vert dev (in reddit):-

So, what takes so long?

Good morning Vertans,
Many people have posted that changes are coming two slow. Why? Two reasons:
1.) As I have said before, the changes are significant, non-trivial and need to be thoroughly tested.
2.) There are many changes in the hopper that would all require a hardfork if we move forward with them. Rather than hardfork many times we would prefer to make all those changes in a single release. Now, there may not be a way around needing a couple widely spaced hard forks, but for now we are trying to consolidate.
The changes we (community and devs) are debating include block maturity, subsidy changes, algorithm changes and a potential change to a new block difficulty algorithm I designed called Furnace.
Talk is cheap - I hear you. The flip side is a shitty, costly release because we rushed.
Keep your eyes peeled for more votes and discussion.
Cheers!

That all sounds very good and interesting, but what about timing?

Look, the way I see it, as long as the devs are working at it, and they stand to gain too from a price rise, then its worth the wait.

Use this opportunity to buy more.

Why? Simple.

Very few coins actually have devs that know what they are doing. These guys know what they are doing, they just need to figure out the best direction, then work can start.

Jumping in with multipool issue. I personally voted for adding 1 week to the block maturation. But looking at the exit-poll - majority prefers no changes! WTF, multipool owners overvote the Vertans?

Another thing - are there only 95 VertVoters (according to 2014, July 25)?
