someone knows why explorer doesn't work? it stopped on 08.13

No, but I think there are several others that work, including this one which I guess is (quasi-)official:
https://explorer.vertcoin.org/

look at date is the same

so are we dead yet?

Far from it just the summer doldrums. I'm not sure who's in charge of the explorer but the service just likely needs to be restarted again.

ohyea, sorry. Looks like someone just posted on reddit about it, hopefully gets fixed quick. There are several others though:

http://cryptexplorer.com/chain/VertCoin
http://bitinfocharts.com/vertcoin/explorer/
http://vtc.sovereignshare.com/exp/

and probably more as well...

That sounds great, i havent looked at Lyra2E much. Can they hold out miner optimization ? As we've seen with x11, every month a miner with more efficiency come up, two months ago it was 3x scrypt, last  month 4x scrypt, and just recently 5.5x scrypt. I hope Lyra2E is also "optimizing-resistance".

The initial idea was to make pow alg adjustable. Why devs just can't fork from scrypt:2048 to scrypt:4096? It will cause the same effect to multipool  and fpga/ASIC mininig. It will help to gain time for Lyra2 implementation.

Yes, there is a mandate of Vertcoin to fork to higher 'n' of the scrypt-n algo when the ASIC/FPGA is out. Well, the scrypt-n FPGA is finally here now.  I doubt the devs know about this. They are busy with the Lyra2 implementation and they have not come into this forum nor the reddit (they have not posted anything) for a long time.  Perhaps someone who has a 'direct line' to the devs can let them know of the new ASIC/FPGA development.

I talked to othe about it in #vertcoin on freenode yesterday.

Someone posted a while back that ASICs were responsible for the price crash... if they have them on sale now I'm inclined to believe him as they would have been testing them for a while now. I mean who can really afford to mine and sell at this price?

If ASICs have been secretly farming and selling VTC I'm kind of excited. That means when we render them useless for the coin we should see really good things happen.

If it's true than we can expect much less sell pressure once we remove them from the equation. Would be nice to hear from a dev about their thoughts.

We are already after big dump. Trading volume of all pairs for VTC approx 10-20 BTC daily, not too much but stable. VERTANS our coin maybe isn't the best in cryptoworld but we are AFTER BIG DUMP, it was cold back to reality for most of us. This is time to accept our true value.
Do you remember discussions about multipools, about 50 coins reward, etc. All of this it doesnt matter in this moment look on all cryptomarket. We were just first with this dump, and we are dump from higher level. Problem was in VERTCOIN price, in the beginning it was truly too high.

Anyway, what is dangerous for our VTC is from where we still have 3GHs of our mining power.. from GPUs i'm not sure..
Why we must wait so long for truly asics resistant? Why devs do not change the N factor?
I dont know it will be reflected in the price or not in future. I dont know it is good or bad for our VTC now.
The question is what with our decentralization, where is our uniqueness?

Yet again...

FPGAs have been around for scrypt for well over a year that I recall (it just takes a matter of writing the bitstream code).

The reason they haven't taken off is that they are generally less efficient than standard GPUs at scrypt/scrypt-n.

They are not a threat.

dev, or anyone on here with CentOS, can you write an autogen.sh and configure.ac for centos?

https://github.com/dogecoin/dogecoin/blob/master/configure.ac

https://github.com/dogecoin/dogecoin/blob/master/autogen.sh

^ this is what i mean. CentOS installs are difficult sometimes, this will help exchanges and pools running CentOS

this is what auto-install gist looks like after those are complete:

https://gist.github.com/patricklodder/c7c067cc831f0d3190c2#file-build-dogecoin-sh

i found one on github and a pastie, but neither were updated/working for now.

thanks!
