Another OT post - anyone else trading aurora? Last night I thought the price would drop overnight and it ended up doubling. Wondering what to do tonight. It wouldn't surprise me to see it a .25 btc (or higher) - although it could as easily drop down to .025.
Yep, already tripled 2.5x the investment

Yep, already tripled 2.5x the investment Me too! Like I said I tried to add buy support for utc, but re-thinking that strategy. It's a shame to, because other coins are getting destroyed by multipools. Multipools drive out all of the small miners hoping for a decent payday. UTC is one that the multipools will probably never mess with because of scrypt-jane and the changing nfactor. This is definitely one of the things that separates UTC and needs to be shouted out. I think there are plenty of miners that are really put off by the ever growing multipools.

From the last few posts ziggy made. good to see people getting the word out, don't forget to mention our asic-resistancy. at this rate we're going to open at $5 on next exchange!(not disclosing which one of course)
Any news on this by chance? Also, gearing up for a wallet update tomorrow, and some giveaways. i'm also happy to announce that a UTC-based gambling site is in the works.
Any news on the gambling site? I know that's been mentioned recently with promotional aspects. I remembered that someone posted gambling coming. This could be towards Ziggy or Bumface I suppose

I was sitting in church last Sunday, and I came to the realization, that people just need to believe in something and follow things blindly to be a part of something.
I'm not religious, but I do respect religion, and those that believe in what they believe. However, this blind faith seems to very often carry over to many other things, and by nature, people are very easily scammed. They sign up in droves for someone to tell them the "SECRET" of life, they believe the unbelievable, just because they want to and others like-minded around them convince them that they cannot be mistaken. People are sheep in so many different realms.
Why was I in church on Sunday? Well, I was making the wife happy, as she is one that believes. My wife made me happy, so I returned the favor and agreed to go to church outside of my once a year visit for holiday-sake. Again, I think religion serves a useful purpose to help bring together community, promote "family" and help those that need to believe in something to get through a rough time, but I sit there watching people in disbelief on how easy it is to convince people of things that cannot be proven true.
Which is why I spent Sunday thinking about Cryptos while standing up, sitting down, standing up, kneeling, standing, sitting down. I know why people get scammed so often in this realm, because the deadly mixture of greed, blind faith and wanting to believe in something to be a part of a "pack".
My intent is not to offend anyone's beliefs in the religious sector, again, I believe strongly in you should believe in whatever makes you happy, and those that want to try and tell you their beliefs are better than theirs is just not secure in their own beliefs, and needs to feel like theirs is the only correct one.
I suppose I'll take that as a lesson, live and let live, including in Cryptos when you see someone wanting to believe in something you don't believe in at all. Enjoy the community, as long as you don't mind the "pope" converting to a different religion. He doesn't care, he was out when he made his BTC, anyone not seeing that by now is blinded by one of the above mentioned human characteristics. However, if the "creator" doesn't believe, why do you? What is so unique, except for your vested interest?
Good luck to all.

Doesn't matter if devs abandon their coin, as long as we can keep it going. devs are just one or two people who got it going. took hundreds of ppl to trade it to where it is today. it will take a handful of us to keep utc alive, and make it grow. If devs did abandon it, it proves me right with everything i've said, that the coin isn't unique enough, but we can make it unique, but we have to act now before we miss our chance to make UTC greater. Be thankful the devs gave us this coin, even if they don't want it.
we need, in this order: Step 1: merchants and our online store - we have 2-3 weeks before step 2 Step 2: exchange - will take care of itself once CT gets back up Step 3: publicity - promos, giveaways, FB and tweets all fall under this.
thoughts?

my only thought is that if the devs have abandoned it, we need someone to take over development. Then we need to decide if we want to make any changes - which I think many here do want to do.

Sounds good. I'm not sure if dcgirl can create a nice site before CT comes up but we should advertise that it IS coming if it's in the works. Heck, we could even mention it in the promos about the site / upcoming site etc. (along with CT) I once thought gambling sites will make a coin prosper, but it doesn't... Unless it's one heck of a casino, it hardly makes any difference I noticed. Same thing might go with the store. It needs to be REALLY good for many to use it. It needs to be simple in use and in design and integrate with twitter and/or mobile app etc I reckon from day 1. e.g. Maybe the official site's twitter account can auto-tweet every new item that gets listed. (until it becomes way too many to do so. =p) I'm no web dev so I'll leave it in her good hands. I still think it should have a way to buy UTC directly from a store if it's going to be an "Ultracoin Market". If it accepts BTC etc also, then it's not going to help UTC unless using UTC reduces buyer/seller fees. Maybe that's a good incentive to lure even BTC/LTC/DOGE people on to the market but make them use UTC instead.
