Whenever you give a service or sell something it has to got an added value to get into the market. DOGE has its popularity as you state. What will be the added value from UltraCoin? Is for all us guys here to define that added value. The coin is really fast for transactions and it is really decentralized, and I like it because my rigs stay at a decent temperature because the N-Factor. (Still I would like it will be less agressive). So in my humble opinion, first we have to decide what we want the coin to be, and then make a market campaign on it.
This is important - we need to decide what we want the coin to be, then promote it, then build what is needed. Some thoughts on how its advantages could be promoted, in a less-technical way:
1. Create a video that shows a bitcoin transaction and a UTC transaction executed at the same time, with a clock showing time elapsed
2. Host a google hangout (or some other live interactive session) to talk about POS and how it works and take questions
3. Host a twitter (or IRC) chat and take questions about scrypt-jane mining and its peculiarities
What I like about this community is how everyone seems to want to help each other. How great would it be if more people were a part of that? The last two ideas above would appeal to anyone interested in POS and scrypt-jane, and could introduce a whole new group of people to UTC.
Giving reasons or providing people with a rationale is not bad.
If you want more out of this coin you need to give people envy. Envy is irrational, envy is vital, and most of it: envy is
viral...
The best part is that people don't expect explanations when they've got envy. They want it, they want to snatch it and keep it.
You just want them to jump in and feel good about it.
That's marketing.
Where is the marketing team for this coin?
There hasn't been any since the begining besides lame attempts at trying to gather some buddies around exchanges.
This coin is not going to shine if strategy is not changed.
So far this venture has proven useless and costly to me on the ground that no value has been accrued at all, quite the contrary.
We keep on losing and destroying value because we cannot retain money within, which in turn affects the morale of troups, which in turn often come up with ever absolutely more stupid mind numbing considerations like "being positive", "hoping", "knowing" etc.
We're getting dangerously close to the last of the series: "believing". Are we a church or what?
In other terms stupid religious-like arguments that neither demonstrate nor build anything. They just convince he who is already convinced and that's all. In short in makes fanatics out of a few which pushes even more the average joe out of the game.
This is a vicious circle, the vicious circle of losers.
The last step before getting raped into oblivion will be the guru who will use the believers of the saint church of the ultracoin to pump and dump them out of their wealth. Then we'll get another fine case study of TRC and FTC and whatever else.
Then again, to get out of this pit we need strongly committed devs that will intelligently pitch the coin and make it at least a bit more hype.
Say what you want about hype but we won't attract anyone if the thing's not attractive.
Last, but not least: 50s comic cartoon with supermen likes are nice, yes. But they will not attract women who don't care about this and prefer dogs instead. So try to find a concept that pleases everybody and not just a couple of nerds otherwise you're going to lose it.
