I am curious to see how the "market forces" would play out here - once the number of MNs renders the payouts (almost) unprofitable...

(my "profit", the profit in brackets for I have my Masternode as a token of support for Darkcoin; I myself could not care less does it make the money or not, is at 8.5 DRK per month; 0.46 DRK/day x 30 days = 13.80 DRK per month - 5.3 DRK for MN operator = 8.50 DRK monthly)

I guess a lot depends on the price of 1DRK!

I too am curious to see how this plays out.

Month looking this coin, bought @68 last week, just in time. Hope to see 100 soon!

I bought a load at 70 last week.  I wish I had bought twice as many as I did now.

If prices increase the fee of the MN operators has to decrease. It's a free market, and another mn operator would provide a service for less in case the original operator does not discount his prices.

I think the sliding scale payment system that Evan devised to encourage more masternodes has been very efffective.  I assume the same sort of method could be used in reverse, reducing MN payments (according to various factors) all the way back to the original 5% or 10% if a Darkcoin acquired a really high value.

The masternode count is increasing because others are seeing value in the rewards from operating them. If for some it becomes unprofitable, they will sell their coins, but the reality of the situation is there are cheaper providers out there to host on. Further, anyone wanting to setup a masternode will have to buy the coins or mine them and there just isn't a whole lot of them around without moving the price towards the upside.

That would be a very bad idea.
Right now investors calculate their profits from those numbers and invest accordingly, and changing them at will would make Darkcoin lose a lot credibility.

Agreed. The reward structure has been set (while it was adjusted once more to scale payments towards masternodes) and shouldn't be changed again. It is, what it is.

Since Bavaria never had a written language,
the wording and (more even more) the exact pronunciation differs every 1.7 miles.

...And it is a lot about facial expressions, which are hard to translate into letters....

So, how do we solve different Opinions on how to phrase a particular Translation? - I have two ideas:

  • Beer-fight (most common problem-solve-mechanism in Bavaria)
  • "wer z´erschd kimmt, mald zerschd" (first-come-first-serve - also very common)

I think it will be a mixture of both, as always.....

by the way: WHO IS WITH ME ?  Grin
NATURAL Bavarian speakers needed for the bavarian translation.

//please see the parts, that are already done, to make it at least somehow in order (same expressions)...
    //41% done

DΛRKCOIN -> is now -> DΛSH

not DashCoin, not DarkDash, not anything. The Name has been / is changed the tech stays the same

You have a fair point.  Even if there was an imminent need to tinker, it'd rattle a lot of cages.

There won't be any imminent need to tinker. Let the market forces dictate the masternode count and the market value per coin. The rest will balance out in time.

Masternode operators invest their 'profit' in more coins which drives the price higher, they win by having more masternodes or a higher value payout based on drk coin price. Many operators will see the masternode option as a great added extra though in supporting a project which could if all goes well come to make the masternode returns look trivial.

Been testing InstantX in the test environment - absolutely amazing work by Evan.

Full transaction confirmations are blindingly quick with Masternode locking.

InstantX is looking very solid - cant wait for the production release.

Try DS too, I just did 3 rounds in 10 minutes. The DSTX messaging system is working really well  Grin The next release I might just go ahead and blind the whole masternode system. The security at that point will be insane, each round theoretically is as secure as how many inputs you used. So 3 rounds will on average be the same is 30-60 rounds.
