I'm a little concerned about the inverted cup and handle on our 3D charts =(

Are you referring to that last peak ?

Thats just what polo trading always looks like after a rise. Shorters try to drive it down until breaking point, then it springs back on short covering. You end up with all these straight zig-zaggy profiles.

There's also a bit of a non-inverted cup and handle on the 1-week that might take your fancy more.

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

I think is healthy to be sceptical but I also think Bitcoiners are having issues dealing with Satoshi losing its prophet status and being a man with flaws.

This also means that there is no particular reason why altcoins cant become more relevant.  If Satoshi is just a guy that is not coming with all the answers it opens space for younger projects that are innovating.

Very true. Not only that, but if Satoshi turns out to be a highly eccentric and mercurial Craig Wright, then I think other coins with known and "stable" founders will get a second look...

I'm waiting for what CW may eventually say about alt coins and their place in the world.

Will he display pragmatism, act as if alt's don't exist or 'there can only be one'.

I wait with interest  Cool

So according to Craig Wright the many bitcoins that he and Dave Kleiman mined early on are mutually locked into a fund and can not be used for transactions (ref http://gizmodo.com/this-australian-says-he-and-his-dead-friend-invented-bi-1746958692). All bitcoins of that fund are to be returned to Craig Wright on the 1st of January 2020.

To circumvent this in order to prove his identity as Satoshi, he will try to get approval to make a transaction from an outside address into one of those Satoshi controlled addresses and then move that specific input amount out again from that Satoshi controlled address ?

http://www.coindesk.com/craig-wright-will-move-bitcoin-evidence-bitcoins-inventor/

Quote
The trustees will not consent to move trust assets. However, Dr Wright is securing consents to move BTC into and then out of the early addresses, provided that the trust assets are not diminished.”

and he will release additional documents further proving his identity as Satoshi :

Quote
In a new blog article posted earlier today, Wright wrote that he will be releasing evidence beyond moving bitcoins.

"So, over the coming days, I will be posting a series of pieces that will lay the foundations for this extraordinary claim, which will include posting independently-verifiable documents and evidence addressing some of the false allegations that have been levelled

Interesting few days ahead...

IIRC the genesis block coins are unspendable.

They are, but you can still sign a message with the private key of the genesis block.

Privacy matters, use Monero - A true untraceable cryptocurrency

How about we get the coin mixing process lightning fast first? And mobile apps that can utilise it with instantX first? Think we're jumping the gun a bit

There are multiple streams of work attacking all of the above - many people working in parallel I think.

Bump
Guys! Come lend a hand to get Dash on Stack Exchange  Wink

https://www.dash.org/forum/threads/getting-into-stack-exchange.8864/

(and no, this is not a currency exchange) - Really simple and quick and would do wonders for us.

it would be great if more people would join, even if only to vote.  I think we have about 30 questions now, 10 to go, and then they must be upvoted to 10 votes each.  Then we can move on to the next challenge - eventually getting a forum on Stack Exchange and hopefully draw the attention of new talent Smiley

So are blockstream going for a power grab?  The way they are behaving these guys are looking like they are on the fast track for the dark-side.

Maybe there is more at stake in the old blocksize debate than appears to outsiders.

Maybe people on both sides are now prepared to sacrifice principles, reputations and careers over it. Maybe the whole CW/Satoshi thing is somehow rooted in the tensions of the past year surrounding the debate over the future of bitcoin.

I still can't decide who's playing on what side and what's a single bluff and what's a double bluff though. Need to see how it all plays out then people's interests usually become clear.

I believe there is a lot at stake.  Apparently the lightening network et-al belong to Blockchaininfo. https://lightning.network/ "Powered by Blockchain Smart Contracts" where they plan on receiving fees for hosting this.  Which by the way is a centralized solution IMHO.

No, there is a lot of corruption in the Bitocoin Vision creeping in and only Dash has the ultimate solution.

https://chrispacia.wordpress.com/2015/12/23/lightning-network-skepticism/

Who is going to run the nodes?  Who I ask you?  Eventually, they will have to be "saved" and the easiest solution, mark my words, is Blockchaininfo building a network for everyone to use.  Now we have an infrastructure to pay for.  Will these payments really stay low?  We shall see, but I don't think this is going to work.

Another substantial article by the Dash World's very own Vanbex Group: Dash Aims To Surpass Bitcoin And Become The Future of Money.
http://cointelegraph.com/news/dash-aims-to-surpass-bitcoin-and-become-the-future-of-money

Up-vote(s) on Reddit would help the cause:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/4hnh8x/bitcoin_is_finished_dash_aims_to_surpass_bitcoin/

Dash has zero chance of competing with Lightning.network.

Without modern crypto features like Confidential Transactions, segwit, RBF, CSV/CLTV, Schnorr sig trees, payment channels, and sidechains, Dash is as obsolete as Bitcoin Classic.

All the rebrands, DashSpam threads, and SEO link farming in the world can't change those simple facts.

Has anybody seen BigRCanada lately?  Did he (like Tone Vays) get wise to the "accidental" instamine scam and leave?

Yes, Adam B and GMaxwell have a lot at stake..

The below article is a good read may go some ways to explaining what we are seeing.

https://seebitcoin.com/2016/05/everything-makes-sense-if-david-kleiman-was-satoshi-nakamoto-heres-why/

That article would make perfect sense, except that Gavin wasn't convinced by some smooth talking / social engineering. He says that CW signed a message of his choosing with the private key of Block 1.

I just came up with another theory though...we might be missing the forest for the trees. Much of what CW has said has proven sketchy, or even downright lies (claiming multiple fake phd's for instance). We do know one thing that's incontrovertible: CW was very interested in high performance computing / supercomputing. Think about that for a minute.

Now what if Kleiman, being the typical computer geek, enjoyed the intellectual challenge of creating the code but had little interest in testing...and asked his friend CW to help test Bitcoin by mining. It's very possible that CW could own Block 1, and even if not, it's still possible that a significant part of Satoshi's stash...actually doesn't belong to Satoshi. What if most/all the coins we thought were Satoshi's were actually CW's?

It's also possible that Kleiman wrote the first version of the Bitcoin code, and that CW took over testing, bug fixing, and future development. Kleiman could have written the code, while CW could have been the "Satoshi" that communicated extensively with Gavin and others...
