Is there any update on Dash Evolution? I didn't see any news for the last 8 months.

My talk tomorrow is an update on Dash Evolution. There's other things I could point you to, but it'll be quite up to date  Smiley .

Australian DASH-ers Here!

Well, Crysx. We're a 'trust-alliance' of crypto geeks here in W.A. Always happy to involve ourselves in hare-brained P2P trades. (And DASH-OtherCoin trades? Yeh . . . send me a PM on this one: we actually run a P2P 'exchange.' Don't wanna seem to be trolling here.)

Just finally finally finally had some joy with the bullion<>crypto thang. Bullionmark will soon be accepting Bitcoin. Then I'll patiently try to inveigle The Main Guy to accept Dash.

And I suggest that we all get to grips with Living Room of Satoshi. We've been using them since they started up. Daniel, The Main Guy, is splendidly in touch.

And I'd like to see appraisals of bitcoingiftcards. The site gives me the willies -- a real disappointment -- but the cards sold are very reasonably priced. Can we get the owner to accept DASH directly?

And for fun: any Aussie wanna buy with DASH a bottle of award-winning steak sauce? (How Aussie.)

Congrats!  And again, please come join the conversation above on DashTalk, 'cause we need you too!

'Kay, signed up at Dash.org. Gonna catch up on my reading here and there.

Here is Krypto HQ in in spring. (The emu's name is 'Felicity.'): http://imgur.com/a/YGk8O

Awesome bird!  I got me some Chickens, LOL.  Lovely spring as we go into Fall and soon enough Winter here in US.  But from where I live, it's the best time of year Cheesy

Think of Felicity as an over-sized chicken with huge talons. But she's a sweetie.

It was L.R.o.S.'s acceptance of DASH -- at the expense of Ltc, Eth, and Doge -- that finally convinced me to invest in DASH.

Major red flags. Avoid!

ZeroCash: A Cryptocurrency’s Deep State Ties
http://www.globalresearch.ca/zerocash-a-cryptocurrencys-deep-state-ties/5553661

A lesser-acknowledged aspect of the Zerocash phenomenon, however, is how the currency’s development has been financially backed in part by some of the world’s most powerful corporate and government deep state actors, including Amazon, the US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, the Office of Naval Research, and the Israeli Ministry of Science and Technology. The entire list of funders is as follows:

*Amazon.com

*Broadcom Foundation

*Tel Aviv University Authentication Initiative

*Center for Science of Information (CSoI), an NSF Science and Technology Center

*Check Point Institute for Information Security

*U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA)

*Air Force Research Laboratory

*European Community’s Seventh Framework Programme

*Israeli Centers of Research Excellence I-CORE program

*Israeli Ministry of Science and Technology

*The Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust

*Office of Naval Research

*Simons Foundation

*Skolkovo Foundation

Major red flags. Avoid!

That goes for any obscured blockchain that uses encryption technology to mitigate its transparency.

The plot really thickens. Global Research stuff is usually pretty shrill, and encounters lots of pushback - typically calling it tinfoil hat stuff. But wait - if it were on target, then that is precisely how "the establishment" would try to portray it. That is a very damning list of sponsors. Round and round it goes.

On your point - I was struck by how aggressively the m-coin trolls were bashing their new rival(?) zcash before it launched. Page after forum page of "plant the doubt". But wait - if they were on the same (clever) team, isn't that exactly what they would do - herd people toward picking one of their pwned alternatives and rejecting the other? Gotcha either way. Round and round again.

So, amid all the noise, it could be one thing or it could be another. One has to figure things out for oneself. I love the mental challenge of it. I hate the wasted time it entails and of course the stakes are brutal.

Stay trustless. It's a structural thing, so you never have to decide whom to trust when you get that horrible feeling that someone is lying to you again.        Wink

I think that was just the innocent noob fanboy brigade you saw. The real insiders were preparing to jump ship 2 months ago and have now left the building. (But needed to tank up on BTC to get to the "next great thing" first).

That was what this was all about.

Left behind in the cold - lonely and destitute - to plummet nearly 80% without a single retrace.

Perhaps, but it is the trusted set-up which is really worrying. That would concern me even without the suspicious links.

See it for what it is - a business. One of many that will appear over the next few years built on blockchains.

I don't have anything against a business enterprise being behind a cryptocurrency, but I do have a problem with them (or someone else) potentially being able to compromise the system to allow them to create as many coins as they want for themselves without anybody knowing.

As I understand it, there is nothing theoretically against it being possible to create a zsnarks currency without having to trust the people setting it up to be honest, its just that the practicality of it hasn't been worked out yet. I read that there are a couple of lines of research which might give solutions for this. So I'd rather they waited and tried to work it out rather than launching with it as it is.

Let me share (xpost from Dash forum) my opinion about "not perfect Dash's anonymity":

For users who need a real (not theoretical) anonymity is important to understand: the anonymity mainly depends not on the mixing method, but from the "quantity" and "quality" of people with whom you do the mixing. Achieving real anonymity lies not in finding some "magic cryptography" to mix between 100 drug dealers, but in using a mass of anonymous currency, with millions of ordinary users, among which you can get lost.

Only Dash is successfully working towards real anonymity, which makes Dash available to millions of users, with the help of Evolution. Others are simply hiding behind the facade of formulas, the advantages and vulnerabilities of which are understandable only ten professors worldwide.

For investors seeking long-term growth it is important to understand that a currency that can be a real Digital Cash has the investment opportunities that are greater by orders of magnitude, than shares of "Coin, which is not actually a currency, but is just another concealed mixing service".

IMO

Markets now realising that monetary assets are far more investible than tech-stocks which roll over as soon as then "next greatest thing" comes along.

Agree. It is funny when I see people who think: "If I use this some-new-coin with it's super-cool cryptography - I will become 100% anonymous!"  Grin

Dash's PrivateSend is just one of the ways (along with other ways - "ring signatures", "zero knowledge", ...) to create uncertainty.
To achieve uncertainty of 1/1,000,000 - in practice you have to have this million of users!

But if just 100 or 1,000 users are using those ring signatures - you can never create (in practice) uncertainty over the above 1/100 or 1/1,000 respectively.  Cool

Thats a great point. I'd never thought of that before.

Mass adoption itself is a far more powerful form of anonymity than any technology can achieve. I now see why "Evolution" is the natural maturity of a coin that started off with anonymity as its priority.
