IMO BlackCoin could be serious threat to DarkCoin. As a community we should take it seriously:
1. If BC implement DarkSend, DRK could be doomed 2. BC multipool is going to use X11 (this is already happening, it is just a matter of days) 3. I think that more "average Joe" kind of people will consider DarkCoin just a copy of BC because they will firstly hear about blackcoin, which is a big hype nowdays, and they have great marketing(Apple is big copy-cat, but people find it innovative ).
Where have they said they're planning to use DarkSend? i think it cannot work with that coin, because it is now POS (started POW+POS) the mining is done their infrastructure is not comparable to DRK so it would be very hard for the devs to implement DarkSend into BC with the random master-node-concept as a piece of the whole DRK-mining-infrastructure The people at BC are making a false claim as well; they were not the 1st to go stake only. ADT did it 1st and man was it a mess... I'm not worried about BC even slightly.

Hello all I really like darkcoin, so I am looking the best settings for my mining rigs. Anyone got good settings for r9 270 and r9 280x ? Kind Regards novymivo
My 11 r9 270's get about 1.18Mh/s @45-50C with this conf on sgminer-sph with BAMT 1.6: { "pools": [ } ], "auto-fan": true, "gpu-fan": "40-70", "temp-cutoff": "85", "temp-overheat": "80", "temp-target": "75",
"gpu-engine": "975", "gpu-memclock": "1250",
"worksize": "256", "intensity": "13", "thread-concurrency": "6336", "gpu-threads": "2", "gpu-powertune": "20", "lookup-gap": "2",
"api-port": "4028", "api-listen": true, "api-allow": "W:127.0.0.1",
"failover-only" : true, "no-pool-disable": true, "no-submit-stale" : true,
"queue": "0",
"kernel" : "darkcoin", "kernel-path": "/usr/local/bin" }
I can up the core to 1030 but I prefer zero worry, cool temps, low fanspeed, and 100% stability. For a 280 up the TC to 8191/2/3 and whatever clock speeds you're happy with. Good luck!

Is there any way to figure out a multipool for POW coins?

I'd like to thank eduffield and the other developers for this critically important evolution in virtual currency. DarkCoin is what bitcoin should have been. Some might call it "Bitcoin 2.0" but would do better by saying: "DarkCoin is digital cash." - Child Harold - February 28, 2014 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.msg5424980#msg5424980

Expanded the rich list with a new "vanity" feature for the block explorer at http://chainz.cryptoid.info/drk/ : All addresses with a non-zero amount are now ranked, so you can see where you stand far beyond the TOP 100! (keep in mind this is for individual addresses, not wallets, so secondary and change addresses are not accounted for) That's really cool. I assume the top addresses are the bigger exchanges? According to your system, Cryptsy has over 3000 addresses worth over 522,000 dark! But that doesn't include the #1 wallet, so I wonder who has the #1 wallet? It seems their largest wallet is #3 Is there a larger exchange handling dark?

Is Darksenda Dark-only feature, or It can be integrated in others coins ? What I read, is the darksend will be open source, so may Darkcoin will not profit of the improvement if another coins copy it ? no ? No worry, they can't clone eduffield He is not open source I just totally love this comment! LOL Perfect Aleix! Also, it's not so easy to integrate into another coin. Easiest thing to do is to clone it outright when it's finished, but then if you have a developer that doesn't know how to fix possible issues, your coin is sunk. So this won't necessarily be easy to clone and keep alive either

I was thinking the same. After seeing what the blackcoin multipool has done to the value and interest in BC. It has adds so much buying pressure it bumps the value so much. I see no reason why it wouldn't work for DRK or POW coins. There are multipools for BTC, which is POW. It just mines other coins, and sells them, and buys up all the DRK. Easy. It would actually make perfect sense for DRK, as it's so bloody hard to mine right now, people could multipool mine it, and get a bunch of coins. It would buy up all the cheapest DRK coins, time and time again, bumping the price. Now who's smart. Go make a DRK multipool! haha.

I think a multipool that auto-sells for DRK would be perfect, it'd save me a job anyway . And it would do wonders for the price I'm sure, which right now is just too stable for my liking (which isn't a bad thing though!)

Then again, I haven't bothered messing with the voltages, I've heard of people increasing the voltage cap in the bios and OC'ing them quite a bit. You'd need good cooling though.

Multipool floated a few pages back. 1. DarkGravityWave release 2. Mutlipool which pays out in Darkcoin 3. Come out of DarkSend beta 4. Hackfest to try and break Darksend (zerocash will probably lead the charge) 5. Dark Wallet to confirm they are officially giving up 6. GMaxwell to acknowledge DarkSend is looking pretty close to e-cash vs. Bitcoin 7. Satoshi to move some $100m of coins through DarkSend, maybe just $1 would do it 8. Media to go to town on rights and wrongs of DarkCoin, privacy, e-cash, etc.

I would bet 1drk for that Paging Chaositec! I really want to know how it works for POW though, because for DRK it's weird, if people mine the multipool instead of the actual DRK pools, hashrate goes down and reward goes up... which means DRK becomes the most profitable to mine again or something... where's the balance?

IMO BlackCoin could be serious threat to DarkCoin. As a community we should take it seriously:
1. If BC implement DarkSend, DRK could be doomed 2. BC multipool is going to use X11 (this is already happening, it is just a matter of days) 3. I think that more "average Joe" kind of people will consider DarkCoin just a copy of BC because they will firstly hear about blackcoin, which is a big hype nowdays, and they have great marketing(Apple is big copy-cat, but people find it innovative ).
People pump BC because of speculation, not because any real value/use, and people keep buying just because they don't want to miss it, just in case.... until dump starts. Once a few big whales dump at once, people will panic, and the coin will recover from some of those panic dumps, until the hype is not enough to keep it up. Coins without a real reason for existence end up dying, and BC doesn't have any real life feature, just speculation.

It's basically very energy efficient while being very fast and secure. Immune to 51% attacks etc. Or am I wrong? I don't mean that the current valuation is justified, simply that it's not a bad coin at all imo.

I don't mean that the current valuation is justified, simply that it's not a bad coin at all imo. The whole issue about being faster is being taken away by payment processors. That is where the main sticking point is. They are now starting to process customer payments instantly. The waiting time becomes a back-end issue. So speed is not really that attractive. Bitcoin's main problem is scale. It will soon reach capacity and miners will be able to charge a sliding fee scale to process transactions quicker than others. Like charging for internet bandwidth to get your video content into homes at peak times.
