I did read it, but I didn't like it.... I loved it.
I just felt we should perhaps put the majority of the toys back in the cot, and maybe not be so......... "camosoul on roids" about it all dear boy.

I totally concur about your remark regarding big bucks, and now that it's on the table, it really should be addressed as a V high priority.

The more masternodes in the network, the less you will make.

Because the cheaper the masternode, the easier to set up a lot and try to harm the network.

Lets say it was free to setup a masternode, it isn't unreasonable to think that some large entity could setup 100s of thousands of masternodes and decipher anonymity. By associating a price which isn't terrible, the likelihood of someone owning a substantial portion of the network is reduced greatly. Yes, there are large holders out there but as things develop and the incentives to run a masternode increase, it should balance out in the end.

The masternode's darkcoin.conf says masternode=0. Really? The darkcoin.conf file on the machine that is NOT the masternode, says masternode=1. Really? Really? The opposite of what sanity would dictate?
wut.. it should say masternode=1 on both wallets (local with 1000 DRK, and remote wallet running on the actual server with 0 DRK) for it to work.
Read some guides, they'll tell you to do it both ways. Some say both at the same time...

Darkcoin seems to have really strong buy support at around 2 $, while all the other coins nosedive at the moment.  Smiley

WARNING, [RANT] - If you don't fucking like it, don't fucking read it.

Well I had to read it to assess whether I liked it or not.

And now that I've ingested such a toxic venomous spew session by a very very very unhappy and sad little fellow let me just say this:

I followed Tao's guide (get it here https://darkcointalk.org/threads/taos-masternode-setup-guide-for-dummies.2680/#post-25672) and found it to be relatively straight forward. I had a masternode setup within a short time and I've since followed his guide a few times to upgrade darkcoind too. All without too much difficulty.

I'm not sure what you're expecting. There are steps you need to follow and tools (like PuTTY) you need to use. It's not terribly difficult but does require some patience and willingness to work through each step.

If you are so special that you know how to write up some sort of mythological "compressed-down-to-a-few-key-sentences" wonder guide that's a quantum leap over and above those that have been written, then instead of carrying on like the toddlers chucking massive tantrums georgem's so aptly posted, why don't you put something together and grace us with your extraordinary insight and advanced communication capabilities?

In the meantime though, you've basically vomited all over the good work Tao, Tante and others have done and carried on like the grand poobah of fucktards whose seemingly only purpose in life is to put shit on EVERYONE.

You're an intelligent guy Camo but geez you're a fuckwit too.

Setting up a masternode is a very simple process.  The guide I used was very straightforward and easy to follow.  Anyone with minimal computer skills should be able to set one up in well under an hour.  The longest part is waiting for the 1000 DRK to confirm.

But it's not the guide it's the user.  Some people just don't have the intelligence or mental capability to perform simple tasks so they lash out in anger at anyone and everyone.  If someone doesn't have the necessary knowledge to be able to successfully setup a masternode then they should pay someone to do it for them.  There are people that have the intelligence to setup masternodes and have offered their services. This constant crying and profanity laden posts from a certain user attacking anyone and everything because they don't know what they are doing is getting rather old and one of the reasons that many people have a bad opinion of Darkcoin.

This clown is doing nothing for Darkcoin but damage.  It should sell it's coins and move on to something that it can understand.  Sesame Street would be a good place to start.

It has nothing to do with intelligence or mental capability, more with how too much drugs and bitches will mess with your mind.
Everybody relax, camosoul will have his act together in short time.

Yeah I think the biggest problem is the BTC that Mintpal stole or still has locked up.  That's reportedly 5000 some-odd BTC that was actively being used for trading.  People are getting their DRK back AFAIK, but not their BTC.  So the sell side (DRK supply) has recovered but the buy side (BTC supply) took a big hit.

You hit the nail on the head, that makes perfect sense.   I would have bought more DRK but I am still waiting for my BTC and probably will never see it, they will not respond to email.

I want to learn how to catch a fish and the existing guides want to hand me a fish.

The above rant makes a very valid point.  If you want to get a masternode up and running, these guides can get you there.  If you want to learn what's under the hood, not much help.
