One by one this trickle down in price is taking each of us out... DRK is no longer my core holding.
XCP-CounterParty has replaced DRK for me. Almost one month later now, the Overstock.com news for XCP is simply not being portrayed in price, IMO. I don't think the crypto nor investment worlds realize how big a thing it is to have a 1/2 billion dollar company legitimatize an alt crypto like that.
Perhaps I'll return to DRK being a core holding if Evan gets instantx going, or if there's some equally big news like a large public corporation legitimizing DRK. Even then I'm realizing that DRK is a long long-term play, solving problems years in advance that mainly exist in a world where crypto has been fully accepted by the public. I for one am starting to see better places to park my hobby-fiat.

the asset tracking technology has lots of potential for DRK, it is probably more powerful with DRK.

My guess:

Onyx was supposed to be the stable release.  How many updates and/or mini forks have we had now?  How many times have masternode operators and QT users had to manually intervene with their setups to get working again (or at least check everything is ok)?

In my humble opinion I think it would be possible to massively expand testnet at expense to avoid some of these issues.  I could be wrong though.  

In any case, any crypto speculator hates to read the word fork even if it is prefixed with the word mini.  Also, there has been a lack of unified communications around the most recent issue.

I though I am the only one whom this happens. What is funny is that I even tried the opposite: WhenI had readily available bitcoins and was on my way to exchnage to buy Darkcoin, I stopped myself because every time I buy, price drops. Guess what happens then? The price goes up I swear, the markets are run by some Alien AI and it has a custom plan for each of us and so far that plan is not in our favor    Hopefully, it will change soon.

Believe it is not smart to keep pushing down but there must probably be a reason why it is interesting for them.

Big orders were there also at 0.007 and 0.006 and 0.005 and will probably also be there at 0.004
Only reason I can think of is that big whales get orders from investors to keep price low at the moment because under "normal" circumstances DRK would not be out of top 5 Market cap.

Each protocol bump should kick everything else off the network, and thus be a fresh start.

This enforcement thing has been holding back development since May. The current mining architecture just isn't a good fit for what Darkcoin is trying to achieve.

I have proposed making mining via Masternodes mandatory many times, and just get called a 'Nazi' and a 'retarded fucking Jew' (by the same people... ) - the nearest I've had to a sensible argument against it is that pools need beefier hardware than Masternodes, but why not require pools to obtain compliance tokens from Masternodes first that are required for a block to be accepted?

There are lots of ways it could be done but nobody seems interested.

I am more and more coming to believe that PoW is a dead end. Centralised pools do not secure the network, they are a security liability. Nobody wants to talk about it. Mining costs do not translate into coin value. Nobody wants to admit it. For the last six months PoW has just held back development, it has done nothing whatsoever to add value.

Shifting block reward in favour of Proof of Service is a good move, but the timeframe is too long and it's meaningless if PoW can still fuck things up.

PoW has been a spanner in the works for half a year now, my fear is that it is also going to make InstanTX unworkable as well.

So there is an argument to be made around the value of mining, if all it does is centralise once the price shoots through the roof.
