Yesterday, like you, I lost a bet, although my bet was smaller in dollar terms.  In the first 4 minutes Liverpool sat down with a goal from leicester city.  I thought maybe Liverpool wouldn't pay for this goal, so I took a $20 bet tomorrow.  But sadly, W Faes own goals in the 34th minute and 45th minute gave Liverpool the win.

I really cannot understand why we're such a worse team this season. Defensively it looks like we have never played together before.

This time we've been experimenting with new pairings higher up too... Elliott's first start with Thiago in the centre, Ox too a very rare start, and then when Keita comes on now it's almost as if we have new players. No excuse for our back four of course, who more or less is fixed now between 6 players.

Gakpo seems pretty hyped and while I agree he could do well, I'm never really convinced about Dutch league players moving up. Happy to be proven wrong.

Both to score on Liverpool games, easiest money this season. Did you guys see the goals? First K. Dewsbury-Hall scored a goal from solo run where he looked like combination of Messi & Mbappe thanks to Liverpool defense. Later on, one of the strangest own goals for Leicester. I watched the situation 5 times and I am still not sure how Faes managed to score that   Should get some sort of reward for this accomplishment.

So the biggest surprise of this new year was Manchester City not being able to win against Everton at an odd of 1.14,they started strongly with a brillant Haaland but unfortunately that was not enough for them to give them the win for this game which they were huge favorites.

Arsenal now has the golden opportunity to move to 7 points away from their closest follower as even Newcastle failed to win tonight,the other surprise of the day,I think that they will win against Brighton and further consolidate their lead which will give them the serenity to continue the league really in a calm way that in turn may give them the edge needed to be Champions in the end.

I'm starting to believe that Arsenal is getting closer to the league than I ever imagined, now that the only club keeping a close gap has started to lose points. Arsenal surely has solidified their league with an awesome game against Brighton and after a couple of years of them losing against Brighton when playing at Brighton home they broke the "curse" against this team.Manchester City with this pathetic performance tonight just made it difficult for themselves and I believe really difficult because this Arsenal clearly is the best team of the league with just one draw,one lost game and 14 wins,that says a lot to me.If the odds are good I am going to bet some substantial amount for them to win outright the Premier League but I don't believe the odds are good.

Man City don’t look as good as in recent seasons. Haaland scores lots of goals but contributes little else to their team. They are reliant on him & others don’t play as well. They don’t seem as fluid as they were when they played without a proper number 9. Haaland doesn’t press so they almost lose control of the game which is unlike them.

I don't think it is weird.I think what you say here is the reality for Manchester City which is 7 points behind after near half of the season has ended,that says a lot for me.They will have it almost impossible in order to win the title during this season if they continue with such game play as that of tonight.They were trying to use only Haaland and this is understandable but when that is not working you have to be creative and all the team should participate in the attacking,they should improvise,all the players have the duty to do so but they did not.I think Arsenal is going to have an easy way to the title this season while other teams have no real chances of fighting for the title,even Newcastle that is not losing from a lot of games they are 9 points behind and by not winning against Leeds they are out of the title fight in my opinion.

I think the championship its still fully open to anyone because the leader its Arsenal, if was another team like Liverpool or Man City from the past years and reach a gap like this i think  they are close to be champions, but being Arsenal i think in a few rounds the player can start to feel the pressure of being the champions and start losing points.

Dont forget Arsenal doesnt fight for a tittle from a long time ago. And also they dont have experienced players in hard situations asides of Gabriel Jesus.

And Brighton its playing a really good football, and without two key players like Alexis McAllister and Caicedo. And take a look to the new diamond of argentinian football Facundo Buonanote from tomorrow player of Brigton.

Newcastle are definitely out of the title race, I dunno if they were ever really in it. I actually think they will struggle to get top 4. Man Utd, Spurs & Liverpool will finish above them. We are not even half way through the season. Lots of points to play for.

I think you might be getting a bit carried away saying Arsenal will have an easy way to the title dude. It doesn’t work like that. There will be plenty of twists & turns. Arsenal still have to play Man City twice, Liverpool at Anfield. It’s a young Arsenal team with no experience of winning anything, the pressure will come, can they deal with it? City have been here before.

I do think Arsenal are the best team in the country currently but there is a long way to go. I hope they can keep their form up.

Spurs are the team for both to score this season and that is the only bet I am taking on this game. How many times have spurs fallen behind and then turned it around to get at least 1 point if not all 3? Maybe it could be worth to try with very high odds for Villa to win first half and Spurs to win the game. My local bookie is paying this one @29. Seems like just the odds for you. And now when I wrote about it, i have to take it

Well the new year games have been pretty much full of surprises if we take into consideration what happened until now,Manchester City at 1.14 odd not winning,Newcastle at 1.45 not winning and tonight Tottenham at a similar odd of that of Newcastle not only not winning but losing the game 0-2 against a team which lately has been not in so good form,it just shows that for me the Tottenham players maybe have celebrated a bit to much during yesterday night festivities  .

I think Liverpool will win against Brentford but also the draw no bet is something that can happen as I would not be surprised because Brentford form is not that bad and after winning against West Ham at West Ham will only be with a high moral to fight against Liverpool at home.

It's amazing to see several people in the pool foresaw Tottenham losing to visitors Aston Villa convincingly in a match I thought Spurs will be desperate to get back to winning ways after dropping points just last week...and now today not even a point, I guess a top four finish is getting out of sight.
