@LFC_Bitcoin really roasted all our asses this game week, I mean what the hell was that 21 points in just 9 fixtures, Man Utd being the only he missed, and 5 exact scores, I'm rooting for him tonight and really do hope he gets the 6th one tonight, I suppose there's a superbru prize for getting at least 6 exact right ? It would be really nice to have some from the pool here get that someday.

He's also got himself a potential highest yellow cap points, while we are just 2 weeks into the season Shocked

I manage to move up a couple of places myself, but I've got just 10.5 points so far... LFC_Bitcoin moved up by 48 places to rank first position in the pool right now.

Yes igehhh i think exactly the same, i was seeing the game and when i see that i cant belive they dont blow the whistle to collect a foul.

But what can i say this its football, sometimes you give, and sometimes you have to give, like the life, its a unfair with moments of fair and luck.

Come on Liverpool today i need at least that Slam point!

Congrats to LFC_Bitcoin, he just climbed 47 slots from the bottom of the table to number 2.

Considering the fact that I'm dead last and can't get anything correctly, it's great to see this. Sometimes all you need is 1 round to go well for you and you're right back there.

I'm currently 20 points behind him - which is, well, an achievement by itself considering it means I'm 10 points worse per round on average. Fuck me, sounds impossible but I've made it.

In this case, there were several phases of play. One phase of play leads to ball recovery for Spurs (Bentancur's tackle, the alleged foul mentioned which honestly looks like a clean tackle from Taylor's pov), there's another phase where there was a loss of ball possession by ball carrier (Jorginho), and this lead to another phase of play where the attacking team gained possession (heung min son) and then they score. VAR can't intervene since there were no offences by the attacking team in the phase of play that leads to the goal.

Thanks for explaining that.  I was wondering why the VAR didn't seem to be too concerned about the tackle when reviewing the goal.  Regardless,  I saw Bentancur's tackle as 100% fair and legal even if only by a fraction of a second, and smaller fraction of a millimeter.  I was happy to see play continue after that without a whistle.

And for the final incident, I'm not sure why Conte wouldn't let Tuchel's hand go. Conte will never go near the bridge again!!! He's a fucking scumbag.
it was Tuchel who wouldn't let go of Conte's hand, it looked like the italian was doing a beeline straight to the stands with Spurs fans but Tuchel had other plans and it completely caught Conte off guard which is why we got that 'shocked' expression 😂 Tuchel even said he wanted Conte to look him in the eye.

That's how I saw it too.  Conte had that shacked/painful look on his face like Tuchel was applying the iron grip, lol.  Tuchel obviously pulled Conte over to him as he had his hand in that deathgrip. then pointed to his eyes like "I'm watching you!"  Lol, football drama is way more fun than Bitcointalk drama.  Just sayin'.

it was an obvious red card to Romeo for pulling Cucurrela down by his hair, a clear physical assault on the player
Unfortunately, there are precedents of hair pulling not getting sanctioned with yellow/red cards, like Guendouzi, David Luiz, and Grealish in the last Champions League against Atletico, that's something the IFAB should fix.

IMO what happened yesterday should've been a foul, yellow card for Romero and free kick for Chelsea. I think VAR saw the same, a clear foul but they can't interve since they thought it wasn't a red card. Main culprit here is Taylor, the whole thing happened right in front of him.

Anthony Taylor despises Chelsea with all his heart!! It appears that the FA benefits greatly from match fixing, as I don't see why they won't investigate Anthony Taylor's biased officiating in every game. I'm not concerned with the red card, but that should have been a foul play. Anthony Taylor and Mark Dean are going to destroy the league.

This was comment from the legendary ref Mark Halsey

Tottenham's first and second goals would never be allowed in any league in the world, as they were clearly fouls on goal.
the first goal was 100% legal.

If you're refering to the alleged foul on Havertz, Chelsea had ball possession right before Hojbjerg's goal, so the the foul on Havertz didn't lead to the Spurs goal, therefore, VAR can't intervene because both actions occured in different phases of play and VAR can only intervene if there was a fourl in the phase of play that leads to a goal.

Did you see our game against Manchester United last season? When our goal was canceled due to a foul on Fred about 10 minutes before the goal, we had a quick throw in after the foul incident, but the goal was ruled out by VAR. Tottenham gained possession of the ball following that horrible tackle on Kai, which was clearly a foul and should have resulted in a yellow card for Bentancur because Kai was on a counter attack it was leg to leg tackle from behind.

What about the offside if the foul was overlooked? Richardson was a mile offside, blocking Mendy's view of the goal. It was a saveable ball, but Richardson made it impossible for the GK to save. The first goal was the result of two bad calls.

it was Tuchel who wouldn't let go of Conte's hand, it looked like the italian was doing a beeline straight to the stands with Spurs fans but Tuchel had other plans and it completely caught Conte off guard which is why we got that 'shocked' expression 😂 Tuchel even said he wanted Conte to look him in the eye.

I don't think 20 points is a really big problem now when there is a lot of weeks to come, and we are just ending the second week with the Liverpool game tonight.A lot of positions changes will happen during the first weeks,up until the 8th to 10th week we will see constant changes and only at that time we will start to see the true form of each participant. So nothing to worry even if you are in the last place.

Liverpool are behind yet again with Crystal Palace having a 1-0 lead going back into the 2nd half, and one of the commentators said this is the 6th consecutive game in the EPL that Liverpool have gone behind first, playing an highline is really costing this goal they keep conceding, a number of which could have been easily avoided, It was as though Zaha caught them on pacey counter attack they were a great position to have stopped the through ball from Eze, but they were rather trying to keeping offside from barely passing the half way line.

Now they really need to dig deep to get a positive result here too, you really can't afford to start giving Man City this sort of advantage to build a gap ahead of you, while you're playing teams like Fulham and Crystal Palace.

It was another horrible day for Manchester United today. It was bad for me at the same time because I predicted a win for them in the pool as well. Manchester United are still a miserable team that they lost this match by 4-0. How can they lose to Brentford 4-0? I just can't understand. Erik ten Hag can even get sacked sooner than most people expect. Maybe the root of this problem isn't mainly related to him but I wouldn't be surprised if he gets sacked.
Alot of draws happened and even I had two but only got the one correct.
Not too many participants put in draws especially when there is a heavy favorite playing during match day.

Manchester united was the one that nobody really could see them getting beat 4-0 from Brentford.
Had seen some put 1-0 and 2-0 but those were long shots.
I watched the first half but couldn't watch the rest as it was already seen in the players faces that they were not just beat on the scoreboard but defeated mentally.

Only 20% of the games end in draw, so it is always the most risky option. This week was a fluke with 4 draws so far and probabily another one since Liverpool is without one player.

But never pick draws is risky and it ruined my score this week, put one or two at least every round is the most balanced option in my opinion.

Lol. Conte have no right to celebrate a fraud goal in our manager's box, that was disrespectful and unprofessional thing to do.

That was disrespectful, and out of line.  I understand emotions run high in a cross town match with one of your fiercest rivals, but that was uncalled-for.

Just curious though, why did Conte get red-carded, and how will that affect the Spurs next match?  Was it for the celebration in Chelsea's box?  If so, why did the referee wait until the end of the game to book Conte?  I thought it might have something to do with the post-game exchange with Tuchel, but it was obviously Tuchel who was being the more aggressive one in that exchange.

Man utd failures were sort of to be expected but.. LFC 2 draws, could this be considered worse with the opposition in mind?

That was a pretty bad result for LFC.  I wasn't able to watch the match since I'm at work, but I tuned the big screen in the break room to the match and gave myself a couple of excuses to walk in there, lol.  I missed the red-card at 57' and I'm sure that didn't help LFC any.

ManU is another story all together.  Bottom of the table, with a goal differential of minus 5?  As bad as Arsenal's start was last year, I don't think they touched the bottom of the table.  It's embarrassing for such a storied club.  Of course there's no reason to panic just yet.  It seems that ManU has more trouble with bottom dwellers than established clubs, or at least they did when Ole was the manager.  My jury is still out on whether Ten Hag was the right choice.  His record in Holland was pretty darn good, but I don't know enough about the Dutch league to compare it with the EPL.

Yeah, Liverpool need to get their act to together if they want to compete this year. Nunez, even more so. Not at all happy with how he reacted, and while I was looking forward to watch him, that's really put a dampener on things. Now, we have to wait a minimum of 3 games, and that's if he doesn't get cited, more? There was an occasion before the red card incident where he tried to headbutt Anderson, so there's a case to be made there. I'm just not overly familiar with the process of citing players after they've been disciplined via a card in game. Absolutely, should be called up on that though.

I'd like to honestly see him get dropped longer than the ban, he needs to get that out of his system if he wants to have a long term career at Liverpool. Although, I don't want to be too massively critical, he's young, and people make mistakes especially in the heat of the moment. I haven't discounted him yet, but now he's going to have to make up for that, whereas before I was excited to see him play, I'm kind of glad he'll be away from the pitch for a while now.

Just curious though, why did Conte get red-carded, and how will that affect the Spurs next match?
It's a huge blow to the players, they're used to Conte's antics in the touchlines, and the next match is against Wolverhampton who know very well what is like to win at the Tottenham stadium, they beat Spurs last season.

And yeah i don't understand why Conte got booked at the end when Tuchel was the main instigator. I guess the ref missed the initial "handshake" and he only saw a bunch of people arguing and both managers clashing at the center of it all, then Taylor deemed it innapropiate behaviour and both coaches were sent off

but, it looks like they kept going at it after they left the pitch. FA just released a statement https://twitter.com/FAspokesperson/status/1559227189891158016

FA Rule E3 is "Media comments and Social Networking cases"... did Tuchel and Conte say something innapropiate on ig or during the post match press conference? must've missed it

Richardson was a mile offside, blocking Mendy's view of the goal. It was a saveable ball, but Richardson made it impossible for the GK to save. The first goal was the result of two bad calls.
that's a strech. I found this pic on twitter:

I did find it weird that Mendy didn't complain, though

Kind of. At the start of the season we knew two things: Man Utd are crap, Liverpool are title contenders. It's not surprising to see Man utd shitting the bed. It is a shocking start for Liverpool. The fact that despite the massive shitshow going down at Man United they're still 2 pts away from liverpool says it all. A win for the Red Devils next weekend and they go above Liverpool. That's crazy

Despite it being a slow start for Liverpool, I think the majority of people are expecting them to turn it on at some point. We had multiple opportunities to score to be fair, and Crystal Palace took their chance. I think Palace had two opportunities that could've ended up with them scoring, and they scored the one.

We're also plagued with injuries right now. Matip, Jota, and Thiago to name a few. So, there's a reason why we're struggling, relying on a new signing to lead the line isn't usually the way Klopp does things, he eases them in gently. However, due to the injury situation we've almost been forced too.

I'm not too worried, and still confident going into that United game.

Sorry about the dropped points, Liverpool. Manchester City must feel like the biggest winners here, and Nunez, well, I read that Klopp has never managed a game with a sending off, something I actually never knew about Liverpool, in my memory I feel like they're one of the teams with a red card every now and then.

I'm doing very horrible in the pool. 50/60 After a top 5 finish is... being Manchester United lol

Hmm, not sure where you read that statistic, but I can remember the Mane red card against City, which is a stand out. Pretty sure that was Klopp managing us then, right? Pretty sure Robertson has been red carded also.

Also, to address the other point, I'm sure City are over the moon to see so many of the top four contenders struggling right now, but they've had relatively easy games, and there's a long way to go right now. Obviously, Liverpool haven't exactly had hard games, in terms of the opponent, we've just been a little unlucky if you look at some of the decisions.

I mean how Diaz can be man handled in the box, and no foul, and then a couple of minutes later get handled much less ferociously outside the box, and get a free kick is kind of ridiculous.

As for the pool, if it wasn't for Liverpool I feel like I'd be doing a lot better Cheesy. As Ironic as that is.

I guess we can rule out Liverpool as a title contender this year so far, they have made two surprise results in the first two weeks of the Premier League and this to me says a lot.I am not mad that I lost two bets on two times that I did bet on them,I am mad at the way they played.I wonder who got this right in the pool as I think no one would imagine Liverpool screwing up twice except their hottest haters.

Bloody hell, LFC_Bitcoin is our bastard of the week!

You only get the superbru prize if you're the highest globally, unfortunately... as I found out in our very first season of playing this pool too (6th is an actual cap sent to you haha).

Still, well done my man.

Sorry about the dropped points, Liverpool. Definitely we've had a few reds! Mane I remember best because we lost badly, and was pretty unlucky as match completely changed after. Milner I remember and Hendo for sure (both made Klopp learn lessons to take off heated players like he did last night with Robbo) but Liverpool have actually been top of Fairplay rankings for many seasons, even before Klopp. No points or money for that of course, though I seem to recall a free Europa spot for Fairplay winners if they don't qualify via the league.

@swogerino We'll do okay, 2 draws from tough positions still demonstrate our fighting ability, yes we played like crap first game (I didn't watch) but I think we were awesome second one, minus finishing. Palace looked like crap for the last half hour of the game, outplayed by 10 men.

Just wish we didn't look so thin so early. Nunez. Well. Hope he learns from this...

No way Mendy save that! Lol. Rachardson was clearly blocking the direction of the ball; Throughout the game, VAR was inept, and no decisions were correct. BTW, Mendy and the players complained, but as our coach stated after the game, the players, not just the fans, know Anthony Taylor and Mike Dean are funny people, so they asked the players not to overreact to situations.

Just imagine, after all, and probably the worst start in the history of the club if ManU beat Liverpool next weekend, they will have more points and will be better placed in the table. Yes, I talking about LFC one of the biggest favourites for the champion.
