Dogecoins have steadily lost in value over the past month. Look at the 1 month mintpal chart or any other charts at various sites. You can see the downtread.

Wow. Okay. I was just informing the people on the worthless Dogecoins. I actually thought it had potential but it's not really worth anything. Even MintPal won't let me trade 20 Doges I got as a tip today as they increased their min limit to 10K Sats.

Most people here hold millions of DOGE, so it is not worthless to them. Wink
And if you actually analyze the project, it holds alot a potential.
Price development compared to Bitcoin history is still much better.
Big rewards will come when regular mining is done. And only the small inflation keeps being mined every year.

Well thats good. I'll stick with Blackcoin with much less coins in cap and smaller inflation. :-)

Don't you think that font and language looks kind of tacky to the mainstream public?

Spoetnik such jealous, much envy. Its been proven by several scientist and a court of law that people who don't like Doge have small genitals.

phrase This much Wow such Amaze!!!!

Dogecoin Cons:

  • Kitchsy (like how bitcoin is the honey badger of money and the bilboard in SJ)
  • Higher concentration of kids and late crypto-miners
  • Likely not to be accepted by Wall Street/Big VC investment/Financial Sector as much as BTC would be
  • There is no technical reason that it is more unique or superior as an alt-coin
  • Its origin story was meant to be a joke-currency, like sexcoin or potcoin

now for the DOGECOIN PROS:

  • Brings in a larger segment of youth to learn about cryptocurrency which could in turn establish permanence in culture and society for the future (btc is expected to last until at least the year 2140 when all coins are mined)
  • People use it as a platform to donate some serious cash - more so than BTC folks have.  I don't see a BITCOIN sponsored Nascar, DO YOU?
  • Dogecoin supporters show a much higher level of dedication towards cryptocurrency than some of the so-called bitcoin supporters, we should take heed from their examples to show you folks how spreading adoption is done
  • There is still a period now where a common believer could drop 5-10 dollars into dogecoin and stand to see a grand payout if the currency is accepted into adoption before BTC - those who follow through with this investment may be interested in in doing the same for BTC as well once the determine that any amount of BTC can be purchased and not necessarily an entire bitcoin worth[this could potentially just be bad speculation and confirmation bias on my part].  Because of the active developers and userbase, I only see this exapnding, not contracting like other altcoins that may be innovative, but lack the drive to spread their own adoption
  • Streisand effect - scoffers of dogecoin will be like - why the heck does this even exist, which brings them about to bitcoin.  Google Btc one time and then they can choose for themselves whether they are for or against digital currency

That's nice. Anyway it's still a young coin and it has a lot of potential. However, the font need to change first.

That's really not a con.

Ok, let's even assume Dogecoin is mostly for kids, teens and their moms. Why should this demographic be excluded from cryptocurrency, anyway?

And what's wrong with "late crypto-miners"?

I started to love dogecoin. I think the creators of  doge give their best in promoting this coin. I think other coin creators should aggressively promotes their coin also if they want to succeed.

The pop music industry is mostly for teens, but it's worth a fortune. I know plenty of adults still buy it but the proportion of sales to teens mst be massive. Is the doge market so different?

i personally believe that dodge has its place in cryptocommunity. it attracts young and teenager crowd who missed the cheap bitcoins or simply dont have funds to buy btc direct. while new generation follows the viral things it lets them exchange big numbers for fun, tips, comments or whatever else. they can mine it with their gaming pcs and be part of their own social group. doge is a gateway for young people towards becoming independantly minded and thinking about alternatives to fed kenesyan ponzi system. dodge teaches them sharing as main principle opposing the usd greed narratives. i say we need to let them have fun with it as bitcoin might be a bit boring for the new generation.
