there's a lot of folks mining TRC @ coinotron (currently 45.1 GH) Guess it'll be interesting to see what the future holds for this coin. The inevitable exchange opens, quick pump and dump then stagnation, the same as any of the others. Hopefully it'll be a while before an exchange pops up then I agree. No exchange. The focus on pump and dump is too tempting for too many.

Can you merge the TRC pool with the BTC pool? There's no reason you can't merge mine the two currencies.

I'm not personally pro-merged mining. But it would provide protection.

Probably yes. It would require quite a lot of programming because Coinotron's pool software doesn't support merged mining. And to be honest I'm not a big fan of mm. Let alternative currencies live their lives.

If TRC is a clone of bitcoin it can't be merge mined alongside bitcoin. It'd need chain breaking patches to do that. You could merge mine it with namecoin and others however.

Good to know I have question regarding your PPC pool. Did you collect any PoS blocks? I didn't. It looks like all coins are withdrawn before PoS threshold period.

It's collected a total of about two since it's been in operation and this is primarily due to initially having a largish PPC balance to handle the startup of the pool. It does seem the turnover from withdrawals prevents POS stakes from having a chance of happening.

There is no urgent need to code support for POS coins distribution

I find it fascinating that the poplar method changes around so much depending on the coin.

Terracoin does not use the scrypt algorithm litecoin uses, so using an scrypt-enabled miner, or more generally cpu-mining @ terracoin or bitcoin won't give you much coins.

My question still isn't answered Does terracoin require totally different mining software? not the same algorithm as btc nmc or ltc

The other day when I switched my miners over to TRC something weird happened.
I have about 6 different rigs going, each rig was doubled in my workers list (instead of 6 workers, there were 12) and each rig was mining both TRC and BTC. My Mh/s wasn't magically doubled, but it was split evenly in between BTC and TRC.
I left cgminer running while I switched them over, should I of stopped it first???
Just wondering in case I feel the urge to hop over to TRC in the near future.
