Agreed, the next t-20 WC is scheduled in 2024 so by that time Kohli and Sharma ji are going to be 36 and 37yo respectively so ideally the process of team transition should start right now and if selectors are considering this solution then prop to them.

It was evident when these guys were playing the T20WC. Judging them based on the Pakistan game doesn't mean they can be a part of the T20 format. A big decision in my opinion by BCCI and I feel this decision might affect those players in the next IPL auction.

KL Rahul is tricky, atm there is no clear info that he was dropped or rested in T-20. Also, he's getting married soon and requested personal leaves. I hope Rohit stay fit for BGT otherwise KLol will find entry into the test team.  

K L Rahul is not a super hero, he is eventually a player who has unfortunately lost his touch as a batter after the injury. I was astonished to see him still as a captain or vice after T20

Pant getting dropped from the T-20 is a good move, he's an underachiever or disappointing in T-20 considering his good form in ODI and tests. ATM he's going back to NCA for his Knee strength training.

I never liked this guy but he is a kind of player who can create a havoc on the opponent side. Getting dropped was inevitable and as you said earlier he would not get dropped from the test but when someone gets dropped from two formats he is destined to get dropped

I never liked this guy but he is a kind of player who can create a havoc on the opponent side. Getting dropped was inevitable and as you said earlier he would not get dropped from the test but when someone gets dropped from two formats he is destined to get dropped

I doubt if any sane selector is going to drop him from the Tests because in his short test career he already played many match winning/saving innings and IMO in red ball cricket he's already become the most successful WK batsman for India. For some context, Dhoni has 6 test tons in 90 odd test matches and Pant has 6 100s in just 33 matches (should have been 11 cause 6 times he got out in 90s ) and a majority of 100s came in SENA countries.

Can't sabout out Kohli,  Rohit Sharma is a very mature and good player as far as ODI format in concerned.  Yes T20 format wasn't suitable for him as we have seen in recent World cup.good decisions taken by BCCI management and sensible selection of players by them.
Let's see how much Hardik Pandya will prove himself in all formats.

In the 18th match in Big Bash League between Sydney Sixers vs Melbourne Renegades which was won by home team Sydney Sixers by a good margin of 34 runs even target was not tough as Melbourne Renegades having batting but they badly down and out of the match for their second consecutive lost and give Sydney Sixers their third consecutive win after losing two early matches.

After winning toss Renegades decided to bowl and their bowlers done good job to restricted Sixers to 149 runs with was chase able for them but sadly their top order batting badly fail and at the end they lost the match by 34 runs with Ben Dwarshuis was hero for the Sixers with impressive figure of 4/17 and won MOTM award as well.

After poor result of T20i world cup this was expecting because now things are changing quickly and with the system working in England and having amazing results many teams will also go with this all and bring youths in this shorter format which is good and have good potential for them and players like Rahul, Kohli and Sharma already play their prime time in this format with now they need to give their best for the last and long format test hopefully things could be better for them here in next few months and after this they could be decided for their career and these now kids will have good experience and improved quality until next big event which will bring good results for the Indian cricket.

Sydney Sixers played really well in the match against Melbourne renegades. This was a convincing win for them. They set a target of 150 which did not feel like impossible to get. But the bowling of the Sydney Sixers was absolutely unbelievable. They actually broke the spirit of their opponent when they picked up two wickets for only eight runs. From that on the renegades could never get back to the match.

Eventually, they ended up getting all out for 115 before the event, ending up, playing the whole 20 overs. The Sydney Sixers are really showing good improvement. This is the third back-to-back win for them.

This is a new lot and possibly these players would be the main contenders for future T-20 WC. Also no KL Rahul, Virat, Rohit or Pant for various reasons.


Glad to see KL Rahul is out of the ODI captain and VC race, now he should just focus on his batting.

After going through both of these team selections, feeling good because now things are going positive for the Team India and selectors are also having long time strategy which will surely increase the confidence and experience of these players for this big event and this could be vital as well because if you want to win big events then you have to work on this all as soon as which helps the players and give the best and bad of players as well.

If someone having problem then surely management can settle this all quickly Hardick Pandya is surely going to be one of the best leader for Team India in white ball formats and with this now they can do good changes in test team as well because having good pools for all formats is also very important; schedule is tough and players mindset is not settled as they have to be for the all formats but having different pools will also increase quality.

Finally BCCI took big decisions regarding dropping King kohli and kL Rahul from T20 format.  Hope so this new Indian team will bring good performance for India.
Every players at one point of his career needs rest and break for sometime and Come back strongly.  This break for Kohli and KL Rahul brings what? Have to wait for that.

There was time when India had very few WK+Batter, now we have more than one who are  trying to be part of test team and most probably they might get a chance too.

IMO, Rishabh Pant remains as the no.1 keeper batsmen in India. Who are the other options? Dinesh Karthik is almost 38 years old and he may retire in a couple of years at the most. Sanju Samson has wasted whatever opportunities given to him and has now resorted to bullying using his rabid fan army. KL Rahul is another option, but he doesn't like to be the keeper when he is playing. Youngsters such as KS Bharat, Upendra Singh Yadav, Mohammed Azharuddeen and Anuj Rawat are not being given any opportunities.

If you lose the form then it's only logical to lose a spot in the team so true for everyone.

Also, I don't mind if Pant or any player for that matter only plays 1 format or at best 2 formats.

India also has Parthiv Patel & Ishan Kishan. Both are also good openers as well as middle order batters. They both are much younger and can also replace Panth. We have already seen he has been replaced by Ishan Kishan in the upcoming bilateral series with Srilanka. Selectors have multiple options available at the moment.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli's performances have not been up to expectations in recent times. I doubt if anyone else in the history of Indian cricket has been given the amount of opportunities especially given to Virat Kohli. The Indian Cricket Board has a lot of good cricketers who have a lot of potential. On the other hand, these two cricketers are quite senior. Virat Kohli's age is now 34 years while Rohit Sharma is 35. Naturally, they now have to give up the place to newcomers. I think the Indian Cricket Board has taken an appropriate decision and that will be effective for the newcomers.
