Such a close match and defeat by Sirlankan players , they somehow chased the target and left short of 2 runs . This pitch didn't favour batsman at all , congratulations India for their victory and congrats specially to new selected team whose hardwork is clearly visible.

Young Indian blood done amazing job and defend figure like 162 is surely unbelievable because I was not expecting fight like this from them after losing quickly free wickets and having figure like this 162.

Without any doubt debutant Shivam Mavi is hero for today's win but surely all other players also deserve praise because they have done amazing stuff with very low total on board, but they keep their nerve and done amazing stuff surely here bowling was more than amazing because they were on target until last ball of the match and bring this historical win for the Team India at home soil Deepak Hooda and Ishan Kishan both done good job and bring Indian team at the score of 162 which was still not good but debutant Shivam Mavi and Imran Malik both bring back India into match with 19th over was surely game changer because this give too many runs and fair chance to Sri Lankan team but at the end Axer Patel keep his head cool even he has six on third ball of the over but still amazing stuff with good win for the Team India.

I match was so close I feel sad for the Sri Lankan fans. Both the teams played at almost equal level as if we look at the score card we can see that most of the top order batsmen from both the teams got out before they make some good score for team. But I think the main reason why India won today's match was their good bowling performance specially Shivam Mavi played a big role with four wickets with 5.5 Econ, especially Wanindu Hasarangar wicket took Sri Lanka lost in the match.

The match seemed to be slipping out of Sri Lanka's hands at one stage. Sri Lanka needed 29 runs off the last 12 balls, with just two wickets in hand. However, two Sri Lankan batsmen Kashun Rajitha and Chamika Karunaratne sealed the match with 16 runs in the 19th over. Sri Lanka needed just 13 runs off the last over to win.Chamika increased the excitement of the match by hitting a six on the third ball of the over. However, the Sri Lankans could not score five runs in the last three balls. Sri Lanka were beaten by just two runs in Mumbai's first T20I victory. With this victory, India took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

Also, Bapu as a spinner did a great job defending 13 runs in the last over.

Indian bowlers made a mess at the end. At the end of 15th over, Sri Lanka was struggling at 110/6, with 53 runs needed for a win. Harshal Patel and Umran Malik conceded 21 runs between them and the equation changed to 32 runs from 3 overs. Then Shivam Mavi bowled an exceptional over and took the wicket of Maheesh Theekshana. Now the equation changed to 29 runs from 12 balls, with just two wickets remaining. At this point, it should have been a cakewalk for India. But then Harshal Patel and Axar Patel almost gifted a victory to the Lankans.

Shivam Mavi won the match for India. I saw him bowling for the first time, when he was representing the India U-19 team at the world cup in New Zealand. Back then he opened the bowling for India, along with Kamlesh Nagarkoti. The latter was more quicker, while Mavi concentrated more on seam movement rather than pace.

In Mumbai last night, India won a thriller with the last ball. It was not in Sri Lanka's favor, even though they fought to the bitter end. The Sri Lankans fought hard, but Dasun Shanaka in particular was outstanding. This match was a big chance for Sri Lanka to win against the home side, but at the end Sri Lanka failed to hit the ball. By just two runs, India defeated Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka's victory in this T20I game was lost due to some errors.  Because Sri Lanka lost all their wickets, they could not bring feedback to the game at the end.  Pathum, Theekshana, Dilshan these three games and Sri Lanka are most responsible for losing matches.  Because one got zero and the other two got 1 run.  And because of Sri Lanka's good bowling system, they lost because they lost all the wickets that ended the match.

Surprising that you think Mavi as not suitable for T20 because of his low pace. IMO, T20 suits such guys. Those who bowl constantly at 150 kmph, such as Jofra Archer and Dale Steyn have struggled in the T20 format, because the batsmen could use their pace to score boundaries. IMO, Mavi has the potential to become one of the future superstars for India in the T20 format. BTW, India was missing a pace bowling all rounder badly. Vankatesh Iyer was the last one who got selection to the national squad, but his performance has gone downhill since then.
