I think I would say both are valid: batsman in pressure and bowler did the god job making most of it. But if I were to pick one with more weight then I would give Shami the credit since 2 runs is easy and he really did a very good job indeed.

I also thought it will go out of hand when NZ scored 17 but Sharma proved me wrong.. Not many can hit back to back 6 on the last balls and with that much pressure- in front of such crowd..Whuff!!! well done Rohit...

Rohit even mentioned that it was his first super over and hence he panicked at first and went for the second run when not needed. NZ deserved to win even the WC last year but we all know what happened.

Presence of mind in crucial situation, they could have easily won the match as they just needed 1 run to win from the last ball and instead of taking a single from a well set batsman he tried to score a boundary and dragged the ball to the stumps and the run out opportunity in the super over, if they miss chances like that then they keep struggling like that  .

Kohli already mentioned in the post match interview that players like Saini and Sundar will be given chances in the upcoming matches.

Tim Southee is one of the worst bowlers I have seen over time in Cricket over the years. Honestly, I knew New Zealand were in trouble ever since Williamson decided to give him the ball. The dude leaks runs simple as that.

I agree with your thoughts, I am sure new players will be now tested as the series has been won by the Indian team. There is no reason  to keep these players on the bench. Untill they test them they will neve know who will be ready in case of an emergency.

I agree with your thoughts, I am sure new players will be now tested as the series has been won by the Indian team. There is no reason  to keep these players on the bench. Untill they test them they will neve know who will be ready in case of an emergency.

There are reports that India might give opportunity to the players who are waiting in the bench and if that happens who will be sitting out as Kohli and Rohit Sharma are the most experienced players and the rest are fairly new to the international matches and you cannot change those players claiming to give opportunity to other players and shatter their confidence.

They are not changing Rohit or Kohli but instead Shami and Jadeja/Chahal will be replaced so their focus is to shuffle the bowlers with Saini and Yadav. I don't mind this change but Bumrah's performance hasn't been that great and wanted atleast Jadeja to stay as a bowler with the team.

The problem with Tim Southee is that he is not varying his pace and not experimenting with his bowling as he always stick to his stock ball and in the shorter formats if you need to be successful you need to have some variety with varying pace

Shreyas Iyer and even Shivam Dube can clear the ropes but to go out to bat and start swinging is a difficult task and even Rohit Sharma was not able to time the ball when he faced but the last two balls he got it covered. Super over is a tricky one and that is the reason i said India was lucky that New Zealand missed the run out chance of Rohit Sharma in the super over and hence they lost. If they lost one wicket then the complete equation changes.

I think only 2 or 4 max changes should be done so that team has a balance side where India experiment few players and also does not lose the match that badly if possible n case it happens . One fast bowler, one spinner and one batsman max should be changed so that they also get chance and India try to win as well with other experienced players around . In next half an hour it would be cleared what is the playing 11 Squad .

India is resting Rohit Sharma for this match along with Shami and Jadeja and New Zealand won the toss and elected to field and i am expecting an attacking cricket from New Zealand and they will try to win the match somehow. India included Sanju Samson, Washington Sundar and Navdeep Saini in the squad and if they make use of the opportunity then it will be interesting as the bench strength keeps growing for India.

Very dumb move from Sanju Samson, wasted golden opportunity here. filling Rohit's shoe is hard but still he shouldn't waste chances in that fashion.

I agree with all the changes that you mentioned. Disappointed to see Samson get out so early. Rahul and Iyer are navigating the ship for now and am expecting them to build a big partnership together due to their splendid form these days.

Among the bowlers, Bumrah will probably retain his form while it will be great to see Chahal bowling again. Sunder is a promising bowler and deserves way more opportunities in my opinion.

India is in some trouble as they have already lost 6 wickets for score of just 88 runs in 11 overs. Run rate is not a problem but wickets is crucial and most likely NZ may all out India before their 20 overs. Manish Pandey is batting and if India has to cross 150 he has to stay till last over. NZ has a good chance to wrap India under 130 now if they can take another quick wicket here.
