The most delightful game of the first group games can be Barcelona v Bayern Munich. I would like to see a powerful Barcelona here but I assume that we won't. Bayern Munich are highly the favourite side here and they can get a decent win I think. I believe that Lewandowski will be likely to score against them. Bayern Munich are playing like always as we can see in the Bundesliga. They will be one of the most assertive teams for the Champions League title again. And Barcelona are not a big hindrance for them now.

You totally don't get my point. I never stated PSG to rely on Messi, show me if I ever stated it! What I was saying, if Messi can play with their best performance, it will be good for PSG because it can help the team to win every single match in this season. I guess PSG will plan Messi as one of their key players, and Messi should ask to play regularly as he isn't a typical player who wants to sit on the bench. If Messi regularly plays with their best performance, surely it helps much for the team to win and create a bigger chance to get the titles. Let's see what PSG will do in their group stage matches. We are only a few days away from the CL matches to start. PSG are gonna be the away side against Club Brugge. Now that you mention it, Messi was the main or only reason for many fans to support Barcelona actually. After Messi left the team, majority of the fans were really sad. And I have no doubt that many of them are PSG supporters now. Messi is a very influential footballer that people from everywhere like him a lot. He is a Barcelona legend now and it is time to contribute to some other teams also. It would be really boring to see Messi at Barcelona until the end of his career in my opinion.

Honestly PSG has one of the best paths to glory. They are facing City early on, and even if they somehow ended up losing (which could happen of course) that means they could still finish second in the group, play as much as they can without having to face City again for a while. I do not remember when it was that same group teams could face, was it quarters or semi? In any case that is still a great situation to not face them in elimination for a while. By that time I am assuming that they will have all the players in the team playing perfectly and fit to play.

Right now, they still lack match sharpness unfortunately, Ramos is still injured, and the goalkeeper situation is still weird, I mean Donnaruma should be starting goalkeeper if you ask me. Atalanta is a stable team. But, Villarreal is not a weak team. We saw good enough gameplay from them the previous season. He has played 3 matches this season and has drawn all three. I agree that the game is definitely looking like a close game. However I do not agree that Atalanta is the better team. I would give the previous champions of europa a bit more chance than the other team, sure Atalanta is great and all but Villareal is a team that managed to win Europa cup over United last season. Champions league is not like a regular league, it is a very different atmosphere and I have talked with some players who have been there, even if you are PSG playing against some horrible team, even though you know that there is a good chance you will beat 5-0, there is still a huge fear.

Because, the league is something that happens every year, you know it will happen, even if you ever get one horrible result, it will be long forgotten. But champions league is not like that, you are viewed by everyone around the world and that puts added pressure. So a team that already won a cup last season seems much more favorable since they managed that.
