What's really happening in the champions league this season is what I really don't understand,I don't see Villareal defeat Juventus on a normal day.It just happened and everyone is surprise,that is why they say in football anything can happen.I'm not trying to say Vilareal is a small club,but they are a small club compared to Juventus.Who ever thought that Real Madrid would eliminate PSG after PSG won them 1-0 in the first leg,the whole thing turned round,and we saw Real Madrid eventually becoming the qualifier.

Based on Juventus vs Villareal match stats I think Juventus were superior during the match but none of their efforts worked. Juventus had 5 attempts on target but none of them scored. While Villareal who only had 3 shots on target managed to turn it into a goal. 2 of the 3 goals Villareal scored in that match were penalties, but all those goals were scored in just the last 12 minutes of the match.

But in the quarter-finals I think Villareal and Benfica are both unfavorable to win the match because the other 6 teams are top European teams at the moment. It's hard to see these two teams win if the opponent is one of the 3 Premier League sides, but if Villareal meet Benfica then it looks quality balanced.

Juventus lost because they had certain problems in their midfield, they also panicked after the first goal in my opinion.

If they could keep calm and follow the instructions and play as a co-ordinated team I think they could have made a comeback. But unfortunately, they considered another goal right after that and also another penalty which was converted.

I think after that performance that Villarreal has shown against Juventus they should have a good chance of winning against Benfica. But, it's really hard to predict between these two teams If they play at the moment.

I think it's high time we stop rating them too highly, yes they have dominated but it's time for other young players to sprout out.

I'm sure it will be difficult for Atletico Madrid, of course. I hope Manchester City can qualify for the semifinals, but I don't think Manchester City should underestimate Atletico Madrid. Real Madrid and Manchester City have chances to qualify for the semi-finals and I think we might have 2 spectacular match this season between Real Madrid vs Manchester City and Bayern Munchen vs Liverpool if these 4 teams can qualify for the semi-finals.

Liverpool and Bayern Munchen have a great chance of qualifying for the semifinals after getting a team draw that is relatively easier than the other candidates. But the problem is that if both of them qualify then Liverpool and Bayern Munchen will have to work hard to win the final ticket and this is a very interesting match between the two. But of course there are always surprises that we might not expect in the quarter-finals.

Even all time great players like Ronaldo and Messi are not immune to old age and it's effect on their body. I watched the match of Manchester United vs. Atletico Madrid this week and i thought a few times that a 30 year old or younger Cristiano Ronaldo would have just dribbled past that defender now but the 37 year old Ronaldo of today just is not fast enough for that kind of plays anymore. Don't get me wrong, he is as fit as a 37 year old person can be in my opinion and his strenghts values and muscle mass is probably as high as it was when he was young or even higher, but other important factors like explosiveness slowly but surely will get worse when you get older.

I predicted this Chelsea vs Real Madrid draw. It will be the toughest tie among these draws. Real Madrid will not want to lose against considering the form they are in. For sure this time around Real Madrid is coming for the revenge of what Chelsea did to them last season. They won't accept another defeat, Chelsea will be knocked out. Manchester city against Atletico Madrid, Diego Simeone is a specialist in decisive games like this. I see Manchester City leaving the competition at this stage. Atletico Madrid with their negative and purposeful football will send them packing. Bayern Munich are having it easier in their knock-out draws, first they played Salzburg and now poor Villarreal.

Yes, I agree that we should concentrate on the younger players. But I really don't think that the era that was dominated by both Leonel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo will ever be repeated. I know that mbappe and Erling Haaland Will probably be the next Messi and Ronaldo but I don't think that the domination will be at the level of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

Real Madrid vs Chelsea is unpredictable match, many analysts would tip Madrid to win the match, personally it's a 50:50 match either of the two teams can win, while Man City will have a tough time against Atletico Madrid which is equally a tough encounter though Atletico might not be star-studded like Man City, however they are a very good side, while Liverpool would defeat Benfica whose qualification to this stage was a big surprise, though it's going to be very tough match too, finally Bayern Munich is my favorite against Villarreal side who also defeated Juventus to qualify to this stage.

True, Bayern Munich and Liverpool on paper they have got the semi-finals. Although something different could have happened. ManCity should be able to kick out Atletico. Chelsea vs Madrid is the most balanced match. Anything is possible here. Seeing the pairings now, I hope that at least 1 team from Spain/Portugal will make it to the semi-finals (to avoid an all english semi-final and potentially final)

Chelsea are themed one of the favourites to win this UCL, if they can edge pass Real Madrid that had an amazing game against PSG. PSG's defence was really wack so this game will be a real test for Real Madrid as well to show that they are not a write off as they have been defeated a couple of times by Chelsea. The winner in this game will face the winner between Manchester city & Atletico Madrid... That's another mountain, it gets tougher.

A clash between two very good and experienced coaches and two very good teams. Manchester can score and ATM can defend... it's going to be an exciting display.

Villarreal-FC Bayern

I agree Juventus had a bit of a problem in midfield, Juventus players lacked creativity in building attacks. Therefore Vlahovic and Morata have
difficulty scoring goals, this must be a concern for Juventus next season, at least they must bring in a midfielder who has creativity. Actually,
since the first half Juventus played quite well, but everything changed when Villarreal managed to score a goal in the 78th minute, Juventus game
became a mess and Juventus players panicked and rushed to attack. This makes a lot of empty space and can be utilized by Villarreal players,
finally the second goal scored by Pau Torres ensured victory for Villarreal. Then the third goal happened because the Juventus players had fallen

Bayern may have the greatest chance of avoiding the team final of the English Premier League. but Atletico can also give City a big surprise. although City may be the favorites.

If Atlético does this (which actually looks unlikely), then Simeone will be forgiven for a disastrous season. But still, I think that in the semi-finals, three out of four teams are already known: Bayern, Liverpool, Manchester City. A couple of Chelsea - Real Madrid a month ago would have looked balanced, but now, given the problems of Chelsea and the fact that Real began to play much stronger, I would say that Real is the favorite in this pair, but Chelsea certainly has a chance.

I understand what you mean by saying history repeats itself. All five European meetings between Chelsea and Real Madrid have ended with Chelsea winning. So, Does that mean Chelsea are very beatable considering their current state? Because Real Madrid is quite dominant in their home league as well as away league, they could beat them even in England. This is a new season under Carlo Ancelotti, surely they are winning.
