Today I watched some overs of the New Zealand A team vs India A team test match.

Bhai where are you watching this test match, which channel? I can't find it on any OTT platform.

This match might see a draw. Having said that Indians fielded a solid team, especially the batting lineup. There are some fine hitters in the top 6. Kiwis piled up many runs but it's okay as 1st and 2nd inning scoring rate is very high at this ground, real fight starts when you go into the 3rd-4th innings. The scoring rate is almost half compared to the previous 2 innings.

I am also eager to know where and how was he able to watch this match live as per the information that I have this match is not being telecasted not streamed on any platform. You can only check the live score on espncricinfo. The match is heading towards draw no doubt about it.

^^^ Usually it is Fancode that streams most of these matches, but as per their website the rights are not with them. TV broadcast rights for domestic matches in India are with Disney Star. I checked the Hotstar platform and there is no mention about this match. According to them, people are more interested in the Asia cup, and therefore there is no logic in spending their money and resources to telecast the matches of the A team. I am surprised that one of the users actually claimed that he is able to watch the match.

Although New Zealand managed to collect 400 runs, but Joe Carter's innings of 197 runs, no other player was able to play a big inning. The match seems more likely to be a draw. India has collected 63 runs and are yet to lose a wicket. India A team is quite strong on both bowling and batting side.

First time hearing the name Joe Carter and if he could perform consistently he could be in the New Zealand team. Just checked the scoreboard and i could not identify any players from either side except Kuldeep Yadav and these sort of matches will help the youngsters in building their career playing in Indian pitches and i am not sure these sort of matches are conducted frequently now a days.
 

I think there are many players like that.  Those who are new and they play very well in some matches.  Such players play well most of the time and earn a lot of reputation.

We know that India is a powerhouse.  India has some batting players who play well in test matches, I think India is a strong team in all aspects.  They have bowling as well as batting.

Right now, I think that all teams are placing a greater emphasis on the national team than they are on the youth teams. If you look at it from an economical standpoint, it should actually be going on in this way. But India is generating more revenue than any other in cricket. So, I think that they can certainly afford to give the youth team a lot more money than they are giving them at the moment. There is no doubt that the future will be brighter if the pipeline is strong, and they should have realized this by now. As well as that, young players should be given an opportunity to prove themselves as well.

As expected the match ended in a draw. Both teams have huge scores in first innings so it was very much on cards that match will end in a draw. India has around 38 domestic teams and despite such a huge setup they don't have a very strong team. They should focus on there domestic crikcet.

India has a good amount of batting power left. So they should not have too many problems going to the next day.
This should be a  draw if all is ok. I don't think anyone is going to try hard in this match anymore.
They are obviously going to take it easy and by the time so far there should realise that there is not going to be any result of this match.
Rajat played an incredible innings in this match. The youngsters are proving themselves quite well in this match. Really good to see young players with mature heads.

I watched this match live on a Facebook page. I did not watch the match on any channel.
TV channels are very less interested in these types of matches. Also, general spectators are now only interested in international matches and franchise leagues.
So even though there are many sports channels, we don't see these matches on TV.

Is this even legal? Rights to all the matches organized by the BCCI within India is with Disney-Star. No one else can either telecast or stream these matches. That said, I am quite disappointed with Disney-Star not broadcasting these matches. Some of the most promising younger players were taking part (from both the sides). I guess they are not going to telecast the second match as well (starting this Thursday). Anyway, BCCI did the right thing by organizing this series. Some of the emerging guys such as Abhimanyu Easwaran and Sarfaraz Khan got a chance to compete against international opposition for the first time.

I think that all teams are placing a greater emphasis on the national team than they are on the youth teams. If you look at it from an economical standpoint, it should actually be going on in this way. But India is generating more revenue than any other in cricket. So, I think that they can certainly afford to give the youth team a lot more money than they are giving them at the moment. There is no doubt that the future will be brighter if the pipeline is strong, and they should have realized this by now. As well as that, young players should be given an opportunity to prove themselves as well.

Few years back when there were no better economic situation for many boards they were organizing all teams very good like U-19 and A where were good platform for many players those were looking for performing in their national teams but now as money is more involved most of the cricket boards are not involved in these activities which is surely no ideal situation because this is good platform for developing youths and with this they can take good experience for higher level.

Currently, we have U-19 World Cup only suitable platform which is not good enough they need to do work on more involvement even this is not ideal for economical with many boards but still they can go with this idea.

As you can read here now many peoples are not watching IPL which is much better entertaining and good as time is running very fast and these things need good time which is not available in current situation when economical peoples are suffering badly around the world.

The match will take place at Kennington Oval, London (advantage to batsmen?). It will be interesting to see whether South Africa will drop Simon Harmer and bring in Marco Jansen. It was a stupid move to drop Jansen in the first place and this significantly contributed to their poor performance in the second test. And England will be once again dependent on Anderson/Broad for bowling.

England's middle order will suffer the most as Jonathan Redhair Bairstow was in terrific form and changed the tide for the Poms singlehandedly couple of times.

Rassie Dussen is good and played a few nice innings but not a very impactful batter as compared to Bairstow.

Having said that we should expect a nice contest despite some players missing from the team and hope no 3-4 days test.

Jonny Bairstow scored a total of 67 runs from his three innings so far in this series. Rassie van der Dussen also disappointed so far, with just 76 runs from his three innings. There will be some impact for both the teams from their absence, but I am sure that other players will be able to make up for it. Who will be the replacements? England seems to be more comfortable with their middle order, and Ben Stokes needs some support from the lower order batsmen. South African top and middle order looks more brittle.

Jonny Bairstow scored a total of 67 runs from his three innings so far in this series. Rassie van der Dussen also disappointed so far, with just 76 runs from his three innings. There will be some impact for both the teams from their absence, but I am sure that other players will be able to make up for it. Who will be the replacements? England seems to be more comfortable with their middle order, and Ben Stokes needs some support from the lower order batsmen. South African top and middle order looks more brittle.   

Right now as things are going most chances England is going to win this last test match and series because in last five matches at Oval England won four and South Africa won only one when Hashim Amla done his triple century as this is mostly a batting pitch which helps both batsmen and bowler which is surely better for England and South Africa is surely feeling under pressure after losing second test and now having lost there a good batsman even he was not contributing good but still a good batsman.

Ben Stokes and company having better middle order which is good for them as they can do much better than South Africa specially with the advantage of home right now they are ahead of visitors which are trying to settle their inner troubles but have no enough resources for this third and last test match.

The problem with cricket is that it has become a lot slower in general compared to other popular sports, like FIFA/football. In this world right now people have to be a lot more productive. Therefor, I do not think anyone currently has the time to watch a T20 match without leaving even one over. I can certainly say that cricket is not as popular as it used to be once. Even before COVID-19 cricket was a lot more popular than what it is now.

And if we look at football almost every country in the world is taking part in it professionally. So there is no problem if even one or two big football-playing countries do not play or have any problems playing football. Its flow is not disrupted.

But on the other hand, if there is any problem in the top cricket-playing nations, cricket is affected in a huge way. So, there will always be a risk in investing in cricket. But at the same time, I also think that it is a risk that is worth taking.
