If Pant and Iyer were there to bat for another session then surely a big score was on pretty much on the card but this is not an easy pitch to bat on.

Even a set batsman can get out at any point of his inning, hence the mini-collapse. It happened with Bangladesh batters too.

Normally 3rd day pitch is considered better to bat but Indians are very much in control due to this 87 runs (almost 50 runs added by a tail/bowlers) lead. Still, they need to be very careful as the pitch is going to deteriorate badly and you don't want to chase above 150 runs in the last inning.

Great to see Iyer cementing his place in the test team, despite stiff competition. I always believed that he is one of the future candidates for test captaincy of the Indian team. And Pant was under enormous pressure, with fanboys of Sanju Samson demanding the latter's inclusion to the Indian team. Today's knock will be some sort of a breather for Pant, but he needs to perform consistently. The lead is sizable enough to give India the upper hand. Bangladesh need to make 300-350 in the second innings to have a chance, and under current circumstances it looks unlikely.

But if I am being honest then i considered them retarded who likes to believe that Pant is going to lose his place in the test team even if he performs badly in the next 5 tests. In his short test career, he already bailed out his team countless times in every condition (pace, seam, spin). He's just 25 yo and already broke many records as WK batsman and i firmly believe that he's going to end up as all time great WK in test history surpassing Great Gilchrist.

I really like Iyer but dude needs a hell lot of practice against the short ball. He's almost cheat code in subcontinent pitches where bounce is low but it's fatal flow when playing in SENA.

Iyer is an excellent player. But even then he was not getting a regular place in the Indian team. Now Iyer has cemented his place in the Indian team. He is consistently performing well. The pairing of Iyer and Pant was essential. If this pair did not form a big partnership, it would have been difficult for India to collect 227 runs.
India managed to take a lead of 87 runs. Although not a huge lead, it is a good enough collection. It is also difficult for Bangladesh to collect 87 runs. Because the performance of each of their players is erratic. Even then, I think that the players of Bangladesh will play with the aim of winning the Mirpur Test. They will not accept defeat so easily.

In the last match the first two days the pitch was spinning a lot and the final two days the batsman were able to score runs, so not sure how the pitch will behave in the final two days and it is a disappointing performance by India as well, thought they would score a huge lead but Bangladesh just trail by 80 runs and it all depends upon how Bangladesh would perform in the second innings and with plenty of time left in the match i would be surprised if we do not see a result.

In order to be competitive in the longer format of the game, you need to have a proper 4-day domestic setup in place. And that is the reason why the pig-4 countries are so strong in test cricket. India has its Ranji Trophy, while England has county cricket. And for Australia and New Zealand respectively, they have the Sheffield Shield and the Plunkett Shield. South Africa and West Indies used to be strong earlier, but recently the quality of domestic 4-day cricket has declined and along with that the performance of their national teams have also gone down.

The players in Bangladesh are not fully prepared to play Test matches.  Playing test matches requires patience and commitment to stay on the field for a long time.  Many of Bangladesh's best players lack this commitment.  Many good batsmen who have performed very poorly in this test match.  Because Bangladesh Mirpur could not perform this well in their own field, in this case Mominul performed very well.  Mominul Haque scored some of these runs in the last over, Bangladesh is also far short of India.

India completely in control on the 3rd day. Bangladesh top and middle order are all out and now the tail enders are batting. I think they might not even give a lead of 100 to the Indian batter. One thing I am certain this match will end on day 4. Axar Patel has been the star bowler of this session. I was expecting the same from Ashwin as the pitch is good for spin bowlers.

Finally, Bangladesh has overcome the Indian score lead and now they are 14 runs lead. However, they have lost 5 wickets in this process so I don't think they can score anything which may be trouble for the Indians to chase.

In my personal opinion all test matches are boring to me and comparing in test format with Bangladesh against India it is true that India is always ahead from the side of strength. And Bangladesh team is already weak in Test format if you saw the previous history of Bangladesh then Bangladesh played 136 test match till now and they won only  16 matches and draw 18 . On the others India is much ahead in this case. And if I wanna say something about this match then here is also seen the weak point Bangladesh in both batting and bowling side . And by looking at Bangladesh's wicket in this match, it is understood that they will not be able to much ahead  runs,  and I think India will also won this match too.

Unadkat came as a night watchman and Patel was there for left-right combination. This combination works in favor of the batting side as in this case bowler has to fix his line length constantly.

Tbh Axar and Unadkat looked much better players of spin than the Top 4. There was a time when Indian batters used to be good players of spin, now look at this top order against spin, seriously what a downfall.
