What a wonderful performance by Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant. In the 2nd Test, both of them are batting with confidence to score centuries. Even though Rishabh Pant batted in the Test match, his run rate made it look like an ODI match. Rishabh Pant ‍able to score of 91 runs from 94 balls. On the other hand, excellent performance is expected from Shreyas Iyer. He scored 71 from 88 balls. In every match someone is woke up. That is really a good aspect for the Indian team.

Yeah, Rishabh Pant got out which means now India now may get all out in another 120 to 150 runs. So, hardly they may put 400+ runs on board which may give them around 200 runs lead. We can expect some good resistance from Bangladesh in their second innings hence I foresee the chances of draw outcome from this match. I know it will be purely subjective to how India bowlers perform in the second innings.

Now, it's time for Shreyas Iyer to hit a ton.  I guess he may hold his nerves unlike Rishabh Pant to entertain us. Let's wait and watch how this second day will end up.

He should have played with a little but of patience. There was no need for him to take any risk.

It wasn't an aggressive shot tho, guess he seriously got nervous in 90s. Anyway, he played brilliantly and once again bailed out India.

Kinda disappointed with Axar Patel, he's a much better batter but threw away his wicket. Shreyas also gone so that's 3 quick wickets for Bangladesh and they are back in the game slightly.

India needs close to 100 run lead on this pitch as there is more than enough help for the bowlers and it's going to get worse for the batters.

Three wickets in quick succession after Rishab Panth got out. India is now fully dependent on tail enders for them to increase the lead. Ashwin can bat but I have no Idea about Unadkat. This is why India should not have dropped Yadav in the second test. He not only batted well but also bowled brilliantly in the first match.

Bangladesh are back again at one point they were struggling against Panth and Iyer but now they will try to get the last few wickets in order to restrict the lead to 100 runs. The pitch is also looking good for bowlers now. It would not be that easy for the Bangladesh batters too when they come to bat.

Finally, the Indian team is all out on 314 runs and they have a lead of 87 runs which is quite decent and significant when you know that Bangladesh will struggle again in the 2nd innings to score runs.

The sad thing is that both Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer were unable to make a century when they were so close to it. Rishabh Pant was out on 943 and Shreyas Iyer was out on 87. Though they cannot make their centuries but this partnership could be the match winning.

With the wickets of Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer, India lost the remaining wickets in short time. But India still gave a lead of 80 runs which is a difficult task for Bangladesh. The Bangladesh team failed to take the opportunity to play at home ground. On the other hand, Indian team is also performing consistently well. But the status of the match will depend on tomorrow's performance.

I don't think India will score 400-500 runs on Mirpur pitch. 400 is very difficult to score on this pitch. The pitch is spin friendly. Shakib and Taijul picked up 8 wickets. Both managed to pick up four wickets each. They bowled very well. My guess was that India would collect more than 350. But they couldn't do it.

Bangladesh could not bat well in the first innings. It is very difficult for them to collect more than 250 in the second innings. Because there is no batsman in the team who is able to play well regularly. I guess Bangladesh can provide a target like 200.

Bangladesh is trailing India by many runs in the first day's Test match.  Therefore, it is almost impossible for Bangladesh to score more than India on the second day by recover the previous run behind. Therefore, India's victory in this test match is considered more probable . Because Bangladesh is still far long runs behind India

It is a decent total, given the fact that the Bangladeshi bowlers were really bowling with a tight line. The top order failed once again for India, including KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli. It was left to the middle order (especially Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer) to rescue the innings. However both of them got out before they could get to century mark. And then there was useful contributions from the lower order batsmen such as Ravichandran Ashwin, Jaydev Unadkat and Umesh Yadav.

If Pant and Iyer were there to bat for another session then surely a big score was on pretty much on the card but this is not an easy pitch to bat on.

Even a set batsman can get out at any point of his inning, hence the mini-collapse. It happened with Bangladesh batters too.

Normally 3rd day pitch is considered better to bat but Indians are very much in control due to this 87 runs (almost 50 runs added by a tail/bowlers) lead. Still, they need to be very careful as the pitch is going to deteriorate badly and you don't want to chase above 150 runs in the last inning.

Great to see Iyer cementing his place in the test team, despite stiff competition. I always believed that he is one of the future candidates for test captaincy of the Indian team. And Pant was under enormous pressure, with fanboys of Sanju Samson demanding the latter's inclusion to the Indian team. Today's knock will be some sort of a breather for Pant, but he needs to perform consistently. The lead is sizable enough to give India the upper hand. Bangladesh need to make 300-350 in the second innings to have a chance, and under current circumstances it looks unlikely.
