Yes, England gave a really great performance. What I saw, England really played a very believable game. I thought England would score 1000 runs, but they didn't score as well as they did on the first day. But England did well in batting as well as bowling.  It showed a good performance. Pakistan did not perform very well in the match.

Agreed but its a game as anything can happen. There are 3 balls in game most important may be these three balls are going to be 3 Wickets or may be 3 six's or fours so let wait for next. I am curious now as test cricket i juat started to take it seriously. As far test cricket is concerned i think its not the age of test cricket. Test cricket was the game of 90s revival of that passion is not easy.

In my opinion it is far easy now for Pakistan to win this test match than England.

The only problem with Pakistan team is that they are unpredictable. They are in very strong position to win the game but in next few overs they have the ability to give this test match to England. Giving a target of 344 on such road is not a wise move IMO. Runs are coming here quite easily and it wont be easy to defend a target of 344 here. Lets see what happens in next 2 session.

Unpredictable is something else but losing on a dead wicket shows that Pakistan has an incapable batting.

Everyone was asking why Pakistan make dead wickets in their home ground. Now we have the answer. They are unable to bat on the dead wicket, how can they bat if the wicket is green or even a little grass on it.

England really surprised the world that if the opponent is too defensive in creating dead wickets, they can still win the match.

There is no doubt about England performance but best thing was their brave decisions which helps them for winning this match and now having good advantage in this series on first day many negative comments and reviews about this pitch now ended with the England win which is third in Pakistan and one of the best for them because from first over of this test match their approach was aggressive which helps them for having good control.

Even Pakistani batting was also good in first inning but fourth inning pressure and their wrong strategy give them this defeat which mean now it's time for changing in mindset and their approach for the game against SENA countries which are having good strategy for win here in Pakistan now they lost two test matches out of four after big teams are starting tour here in Pakistan.

Totally agreed as for the current conditions here, I am damn sure the match is the favor of a draw maybe if Pakistan plays well can win the match but the picture is not ended yet, Let's see. Defending that total on this pitch is not easy as Watche said. Day 5 played an important role and its till ongoing.

Niether yours nor mine prediction went well. As usual Pakistan lost a match which they could have won easily or could have drawn it. On thier homeground getting defeated royally is a big shame for the Pakistani side. The gamble that the English side took went well for them. Good comeback by the England team.

I already mention this many times here on this thread about Pakistani management tactics and their approach for the home series they have never been on right path which give them better results most of the time they play with negative mindset and pay for this as well same happening in this series and their mostly test playing players are also not good in technique which is another problem for them, but hopefully they will try to learn from these mistakes and try to fight back in this series even I have feeling they will not recover because now they are under pressure and surely will do more mistakes which will bring them down and their chances for the WTC final is also going to be ended losing eight wickets on flat pitch is surely never been expected from any top class team, but Pakistan can do things like these.

Now England have won the match, and have won the hearts of the Pakistani people for some reason. Pakistani batters were struggling against pacers but when spinners were introduced they were going after them. This is when a bulk of runs were scored by them. After lunch the agressive fielding and continuous pace attack destroyed the Pakistani batting line up.

James Anderson played a major role in the England victory yesterday. He is 40 years old, but still remain as the most threatening English bowler in the test format. I sincerely hope that he can keep on playing for another 2 years and maybe able to end up with some 750-800 test wickets (at this point he has 672 test wickets to his name). And I was disappointed to see Stuart Broad not playing at Pindi. The combination of Broad and Anderson has worked wonders for England in test. I don't know why the selectors always give preference to the younger guys.

But the Pakistani batsmen could not stand in front of England's experienced batsmen on the last day. No batsman could stay at the crease for long. If Imam Ul Haque or Rizwan would have been able to score a century then maybe Pakistan would have been able to win the match. But the Pakistani players could not stand in front of the outstanding bowling of Robinson and Anderson. Robinson and Anderson took four wickets each.

In the end we have to admit that it was incredibly risky move from Ben Stokes. This is the same pitch where Pakistan made a total of 579 just two days ago. And somehow Stokes decided to gamble on an unlikely win rather than settling for a draw. This is a precious lesson for the PCB, not to prepare substandard matches for tests against quality teams. If the opponent has quality, they will win the match no matter how hard the curators try to create flat surfaces. The second test will start in three days from now at Multan. Hopefully the pitch quality will be better.

When this WTC cycle started, I was hoping that Pakistan might qualify for the Finals because

They were scheduled to play Aus, Eng and NZ at their home turf and Ban, WI, SL away from home. This kind of schedule is a dream for any test nation as far as the final is concerned.

But damn Pakistan is committed to harakiri and now they have to win their remaining matches and hope India and SA lose a couple of test matches.

Thought I won't write anything about England vs Pakistan 1st Test as I lost confidence over Pakistan yesterday.  I lost many dollars betting on Pakistan.  However, a remarkable record-setting match in the history of Tests was organized between Pakistan and England in the first Test at Rawalpindi.  Breaking the record of last 112 years, England collected 506 runs for just 4 wickets in 75 overs on the first day.  On that day, except Joe Root, the other four batsmen scored centuries.  But Pakistan also surprised by collecting 579 runs in the first innings.  But sadly, the result was reversed in the last session of the 1768-run Test.
Before the tea break, Pakistan needed only 86 runs and had five wickets in hand.  But unfortunately, in the third session, Pakistan lost 5 wickets for just 11 runs to the bowling attack of James Anderson and Ollie Robison and eventually lost by 74 runs.  Despite a golden opportunity ahead, the Pakistani lost yesterday's match only because of patience and lack of intelligence.  To put it another way, Kalle broke the 69-year-old record for the third Test run-scoring match.

We are still not winning the WTC lol even if we reach the finals as it's in Lord's and every SENA country has an unfair advantage over any subcontinent team. If the hosting venue is in the subcontinent (hope in the next cycle), well then it's completely opposite.

Such strange behavior of the pitch on the last day is nothing new. Pakistan batsmen should have batted more carefully and responsibly. But they didn't. They have been defeated by their own fault. If the batsmen who batted well in the first innings batted responsibly in the second innings, Pakistan could have won easily. Shafique, Babar Azam and Rizwan did not bat well. Pakistan lost because of poor batting.

A Test series between Bangladesh A team and India A team is taking place. Bangladesh's batting in the second test match today was very bad as usual. Bangladesh lost 5 valuable wickets for 84 runs. Shahadat Hossain and Jaker Ali put on 139 runs in the sixth wicket partnership. Bangladesh lost their sixth wicket for 223 runs. And Bangladesh's innings ended with just 252 runs. Bangladesh is yet to find a suitable batsman for the Test format. Their batting is still weak.

India's Mukesh Kumar bowled well today. He managed to pick up important 6 wickets. Indian national team bowlers are not in good form now. India A team bowlers now have a good chance of getting a place in the national team by performing well.

Oh! There are many matches where they did the same mistakes as a team or they tried to act smart. We all know where Pakistan cricket is gowing and the country as well.

They might be hopeless or pathetic but they are surely very cunning and to an extent lucky. They got into the finals of T20 world cup just by observing and winning a few matches.

These results are definitely helping the Indian and Proteas cause tho. From an Indian perspective, they still need to win 5 out of 6 matches and it won't be an easy task.

Sometimes it is okay to not predict a team performance. When considering a team like Pakistan that has a habbit of winning games which they cannot win and losing games where everyone knew they would win. It is not an easy task to win 5 out of 6 matches but anything can happen with Pakistan as they are unpredictable.
