The way this Colombo test has started , I have no doubt that Pakistan can easily win this test match. They are in a position to take a lead of 200+ runs and even a 150 runs lead will be enough for them to not let Srilanka recover back in this test match.

Just to recall, Pakistan has already won the first test match and this is a series of 2 test matches.
So it is highly likely that Pakistan will win this series and rightly so as they are no doubt a better team than the Srilankans.

After finishing the first day's play behind Sri Lanka by 21 runs, Pakistan went into bat again on the second day today where Pakistan ended the pre-lunch break with a lead of 12 runs before the lunch break. The body language of the Pakistani batsmen in the first innings of the second test match was very positive and their batting style seemed to end the first innings game with a big score against Sri Lanka. If they can put up a big score first, Pakistan will have a chance of beating Sri Lanka by an innings. Hope Pakistan will not miss that great opportunity. The rest of Pakistan's batsmen must bat responsibly and take the team's total to a much bigger level. Sri Lanka's batting in the first innings looked like the second test match might be a low-scoring match but the Pakistani batsmen proved us wrong.

@Patrol69 I agree that Pakistan definitely has an advantage here and they can bat the entire day tomorrow and put up a huge total which will then put lots of pressure on Srilankan player’s and thus I expect Srilankan player’s too quickly crumble under pressure. Furthermore the only way for Srilanka to get back in this match is if their bowler’s can pick few quick wickets tomorrow when the game resumes but from what I have seen I feel that they won’t be able to do that hence it’s clear that Pakistan will win easily.

Sri Lanka is a good team in cricket.  On the other hand, Pakistan is also a good team and scored 166 runs in Sri Lanka in the first innings but Pakistan have already scored 178 runs and they are still playing.  And they have just lost two wickets with 8 wickets still to play.  So it is understood that Pakistan will put Sri Lanka under a lot of pressure in the first innings.  And those who lead with a good score in the first innings have a much easier second innings and have a high chance of winning the match

Atleast India was able to lead the series as the team have won the first test match. With the England team it was very pity, because they had got a big opportunity to level the series and keep the series winning probability alive. Now they've missed the chance and at their best now the choice available is to level the series.

India would have whitewashed WI if they continued playing which is why they were really unlucky here thanks to rain interference. On the other hand, England would probably not win the series even if they won the 4th test.

The 5th test could end in a draw too if rain interferes once again. Rain is clearly one of the primary reasons why viewers are losing interest in tests.

Yeah, you are more or less right about the construction cost of Marvel Stadium but the timeline was 1999-2000. Atm, in 2023 it should cost a lot and I was being conservative with the billion dollars mark.

IMO, It all comes down to sustainability, it should be multi purpose stadium so that you can have at least 20-25 international matches or leagues every year.

This is usually a rainy season and you need to blame the Cricket boards for conducting matches during rainy seasons. In recent weeks all the test matches played around have got interrupted by rain. The major one being the 4^th test match between England and Australia which favoured Australia, but it was a winning match of England and ended in a draw. Similar way game ended with India against West Indies, however India was able to win the series as the first match was won by them. This time it is between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
