So far only interesting thing i found in this test is England's approach otherwise this could have been a dead match due to the flat deck.

Poms are exciting to watch when they are batting and surprisingly innovative with their field settings, I've never witnessed such unconventional in-field placements, except in gully cricket.

Kudos to Stokes, McCullum and especially fielding coach Hopkinson.

AUS tail end folded, I was doubting ENG decision to declare but it doesn’t look such a bad decision now. ENG started their 2nd innings well 18-0, lead by 25-0.

Weather looks good, should be an interesting days play.

Before Osman Khawaja's dismissal, it looked as if Australia might set a big target, but being bowled out for 372, Australia could not set much of a target as Australia ended the first innings trailing by 7 runs. However, if rain stops play in a few sessions in this Test, then it can be said for sure that there will be a possibility of a draw.

The decision of the declaration from England was actually a little wrong in my opinion. If they could add at least 30 more it was going to be a bigger difference now because Australia is currently on 371/6 and they are trailing by only 22 right now. If England could add 30 more, I believe right now, it was not sure whether Australia was going to take a lead or not. But now it seems like Australia is going to take the lead. I believe Australia is going to score something near 420 or above. I wonder how England is going to perform in their second innings. It is also going to be interesting to see the score Australia will be able to get.

Australia now trail be just 16 runs and still 2 batsmen to bat. It looks like Australia may take a small lead in first innings and that can play big role. Khawaja scored 141 runs before bowled out by Robinson. It be interesting to see how England will bat in second innings. They must give target above 400 runs as anything less then can be chased by Australia. Let's see whether Australia can take a lead or not.

Yes you are right. I think rain will help Australia a bit. The reason for this is that England batted brilliantly in the first innings on the first day. They scored 393 runs. In that case, Australia is under a bit of pressure. I think England kept their first innings consistency Will bat. Because they will give Australia a big run target, there are still two days in hand. England should have went ahead without declaring as Joe Root was still in the crease scoring a century and Ollie Robinson was giving a good partnership. England lost their openers in the second innings Pat Cummins and Scott Boland were bowling really well with the new ball but weather has stopped play and hopefully they could regain play for the day.

Australian bowlers were in good form. We can't expect same kind of game everytime. Root played an awesome batting in the first innings. Two days remain and if rain stays away then there is a good chance of getting a result for this match. But the weather forecast for Birmingham is not that optimistic. Although chances of rain today are minimal, for tomorrow there is a 90% chance of heavy showers with thunderstorm. In order to get a result, Australia needs to bowl out England before tea today and then chase down the total rather than risking rain interruption tomorrow. But that is not going to be easy, as England has a very strong middle order with Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow in good form.

Bad weather folded yesterday's play too early with England were just started their second inning and at the end they were 28/2 which is not good start for them in second inning Crawly and Ducket both gone with Root and Pope at crease now it is interesting part of this test match because lead is just 35 runs and eight wickets remaining for the England which are looking for the 300+ if they want to have something positive from this and today if Aussies have few early wickets then surely this could be trouble for the home side but as Stokes and his men's doing look like we are going to have entertaining end of this match with Root is surely needing to kick off from where he left his first inning one of the inform player for the England and vital for their win in this series as well.

I was surprised by Ben Stokes' field setup against Usman Khawaja and the field setup he planned worked. Australia's set batsman Usman Khawaja was bowled out and returned to the pavilion as the yorker bowled the other way due to his field setup.  

After the dismissal of Usman Khawaja, Australia's score did not progress further.  

England went into bat on the third day in their second innings where they ended the third day with 28 runs for no wickets. Since the game is only two days away, both teams will bat in ODI style on these two days.

Australia aim will be to bowl out England by 250 since that can be chased quite easily.
