400$ hosting is by no way representative of the best (or even average for that matter) hosting cost for that specific piece of hardware.
Hosting provided by spondoolies in their Israel DC is meant as a short-term solution only, and is basically provided at-cost.
$400 is the 3 month rate short term is $500 You have missed the point. See highlighted text. No matter the contract period, it is not meant as a permanent solution. No, because the machine costs more to host than revenue it earns what do you do with it then? Too noisy for home and no 240v available If what you say is true it does not pay at this time to buy any miner from any asic manufacturer ....as to the home use...well noisy I give you and you can run it at 120v but if your premise is true..miners can't ROI with hosting due to bitcoin price well then home mining is dead and not specific to spondoolies or the sp30 Searing

Old Style Legacy Plug & Play BBS System. Get it from www.synchro.net. Updated 1/1/2021. It also works with Windows 10 and likely 11 and allows 16 bit DOS game doors on the same Win 10 Machine in Multi-Node! Five Minute Install! Look it over it uninstalls just as fast, if you simply want to look it over. Freeware! Full BBS System! It is a frigging hoot!:)

I had a similar issue with an sp10 today.
It was mining for over 3 months (and about 2 months at that datacenter) and got stuck somehow.
After the DC power cycled it, everything is working as usual.
This hasn´t ever happened with that miner in over 3 months, so I guess a small crash once in a while is no big problem (your desktop PC probably crashes more often than that, and it isn´t on 24/7).
I had my SP10 stop mining last week after being rock solid 24/7 since May. Power cycle fixed it and it's a rock star again.

What are the specs of the SP50? And Guy, Stas, Can I get on the review list for that one?
There is no announcement for the sp50 yet. People have only come up with that product name by adding 20 to Sp30. What has been announced is that spondoolies is working on an improved 28nm chip, which is not going to be finished before end of the year/start of next year. The exact method of sale is still as unclear as possible specs (though efficiency will likely be better than the current 28nm chips). There have been hints that it won´t require pre-order though, so I do not see the need for anyone to review it (although spondoolies might / will likely still grant review access) I'd like to review one, if it becomes available. As for other miners, and even these SP10/SP30, I have always intended to put them all on digital timers that power cycles them at least once a day. Say, turn them off for 1 or 2 minutes, then turn them on again. That should take care of any potential problems when you are not available (or you are taking a vacation.)

I am not sure whether there will be actual physical units shipped with those (not yet fully engineered) chips, but again, time will tell. As most people are aware of, home mining is slowly coming to an end and most hardware is placed in hosting facilities /datacenters nowadays. As margins are getting lower (for both miners and manufacturers), completely managed hardware should be even cheaper to maintain if done correctly, and this might be one way to sell these future generations of mining gear.

this scheme needs some qualification. For example, what if I pay for three months upfront and then, after a month or two, have to do a RMA back to Spondoolies. What would happen in this case?
Our policy is to charge 50% for reserving the space for you whether or not you actually use it, and 50% for actually using the power. If you buy 3 months of hosting and tell us your machine will arrive on September 20th, but you had the bad luck to have purchased from (e.g.) Black Arrow, and they tell you (and you tell us) "next week" until November 20th (2 months later), then you would have 2 months of hosting left. We are ordering spare PSUs for SP10s and SP30s, so if the issue is PSU-related, we'll swap your PSU(s) out with our spares and RMA the faulty ones, and have you up and running in about a day. If it's an issue with the miner itself, then you'll have to wait for the RMA to return, and will only pay 50% hosting fees for the duration, unless I take pity on you and waive the 50% space reservation charge. this explanation clears it up. sounds good...

Are you guys going to wait with shipping of our August batch by 28th of August?
You mean the August group buy? That was one of the final batches sold in August. Shortly after the group buy closed, Spondoolies switched over to taking orders for September. Many of the other August orders have already shipped. Yes, the group buy. I've got an order from group buy and we were told tha group buy miners would be shipped in 2nd half of August. Also, we we told we would receive compensation e-mails by mid August. It's 19th of August and no information and no shipping.

Starting in October, we will compensate you for the differential in hashing power according to each customer's preference. We will contact each and every one of you over the next few weeks to discuss your preferred method of compensation. Also, 2nd half of August means that your units will ship any day now (though it could be as late as the 28th) You will therefore get your shipping and tracking information soon, once the unit was shipped. To my knowledge, spondoolies has never broken any promise in regards to shipping time.

Neither did KnC. KnC has been 'on time' with every one of their products. See how that works?

KNC did ship late by several standards. First they didn´t ship their customer appreciation batch the required one month before the others, then they didn´s ship the 1st public, and 2nd public ones within Q2, as per their promises.
On top of that, they required pre-orders for a ~5 months period, something spondoolies didn´t do either, and their product ended at a roughly 2$/GH cost (including PSU), one half of which hasn´t been delivered yet.
As you can see, spondoolies does far better on any of those points, and isn´t "screw the customer HQ" aka KnC.
Lastly, please stop crying wolf until they have actually sent any product too late, which they haven´t yet done on any of their several batches.

In about two hours from this post, all SP30s will become 20% less able to make bitcoin. https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty That is a shitload of inflation. They are nearly worthless by the time they arrive.

No, they haven't but their vague statement "second half of August" could mean 31st of August which is a bit of piss taking so hopefully it won't be that way... KNC did that with their 1st Jupiter Batch they promised to start shipping in September 2013. Basically they started shipping one the last day of September as to make up their supposed promise.

Do you think Bitcoin will never go up in value? If Bitcoin value rises even a fraction of what some experts predict then this box could ROI in less than 30 days. There is always risk with any investment, i happen to believe Bitcoin/Crypto Currency will succeed but i would still never invest more than i am comfortable losing. If you don't believe it will ever rise in value then you probably shouldn't invest in it, just my thoughts from reading all of these negative posts from several people on this forum.

The SP30 Yukon September Batch 2 is currently out of stock, and there is no more order possibility . Do you know the current status for new orders? And do you know when the October batch orders will be opened?

How many times does it have to be said, if you are speculating on the price rising just buy BTC and save on electricity\hosting costs.

Not entirely true because if you have a miner, then not only you get more value from your mined btw, but the residual value of your miner increases as well. Some lucky dogs mined with Jupiter for a month or more, then were able to sell it for up to twice of the initial price.

I still think the Spondoolies-Tech is one of the best bitcoin miner producers right now so I wouldn't like them to dissapoint me to exploit my trust by acting in KNC style.
