Thanks Guy, all is well ... SP20 arrived today ... and is hashing away. I expect it to take a couple of days to settle down, but seems happy at 1.67Ths right now.

6 months in the BTC space has seen great improvements (sorry to state the obvious) ... with the SP20 footprint at 1.7Ths being so much smaller than the original June SP10 at 1.4Ths, power consumption has of course also improved.

This girl loves you and your company Guy  Tongue https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0JC4ddadAo (probably old news).

As raskul and others have said ... home miner(s) will be winter heater(s) ... and the UK is cooling down nicely right now.

Just waiting now for the next gen machines to replace the hosted miners I have ... and into 2015 we go ...

it's my birthday next wednesday = the BIG 40, I want one of those 5.5TH/s beasts. are they shipping yet?

Happy birthday!  I would love to be 40. Hell even 50 would be nice,  I will be 58 in Jan.

Thanks Phil.

just waiting on my shipping notification for the SP31.
i'll be growing palm trees in my flat by spring.

interesting.
and perhaps a tad sycophantic so feel free to shoot me down in flames, but this is what i believe.

my reasoning is that for the first time, ever, we have been dealing with a company who have not only turned out the most efficient hardware from their own IP but have also flown in the face of all other h/w manufacturers by striving to assure 100% customer satisfaction.
in this industry, it's unheard of.

I just want to say, if you don't win this Guy, well done for rounding up such a skilled team, and for everything that you do to service our mining requirements. Although you are obviously driven by the profit which keeps you in production, so are we and I wish to applaud you, not only in that excellent customer service, but also in the actual hardware you have produced.

We should only be so lucky. It is possible.

If you go back to JULY 1st most of the network was 2 watt gear.  We have not grown so fast since July because people pulled 2 watt gear out and replaced with 1 watt and .8 watt gear.

Now I have to think the network is 1.2 watt or less on average.   So a lot of the older gear is shutting down to be replaced be .6 watt gear or better.

Yeah you sold a lot of sp20's and a lot of s-4's even s-3's sold last jump.

But all s-1's are going even low watt mods are going offline
all dragon miners are going offline
lastly s-2s are shutting down.

So low growth will stay a while more.  At least I hope so.

Yes, i totally agree, every single individual i've had the pleasure to interact with at spondoolies has been courteous, honest and keen to provide a top service.

He may be the most important person in bitcoin mining, but I can't see how he is the most important person for bitcoin itself. Mining is not important in the great scheme of things. We could still be using GPU miners and bitcoin would be secure enough.

He may be the most important person in bitcoin mining, but I can't see how he is the most important person for bitcoin itself.

I just think that this year specifically, the accolade should be to someone who has striven to bring the most efficient miners to market and allow hobbyists to stay in the game. Even if staying in the game means whatever small part we play, we are still here, and we are still interested in bitcoin and we are still contributing to the network we worked so hard to raise up from the ground.
Aside from the fact that mining was always destined to go large scale, the situation we find ourselves in today has been an unavoidable fate from the very beginning. What I see in SP-Tech (not just Guy, as correctly pointed out above) is a company who have brought to market, something for hobbyists  and large miners alike, to assist us to stay in the game. The most efficient miners, and the collaboration of the best service, coupled with the best mining machines. For these reasons, I do believe that Guy (and his team) should gain recognition. Perhaps we should start a thread to discuss this topic in it's entirety? I'd welcome your input.

I beg to differ re mining. Mining has been the most exiting race I was a part of in a small way.
Comparing to the sluggish software development, mining advances were on the forefront of bitcoin, no doubt.
If i compare my wallet circa Dec 2103 and todays-basically NO DIFFERENCE. Please don't tell me about multisig and the fact that I can store $$ on coinbase IF I reside in 13 lucky US states (I am not). The argument re GPU is disagreeable if you consider FUTURE bitcoin use and transaction volume.
