11 minutes of injury  time is a bit too much, but whatever the recochet and confusion at City's goal, Arsenal went into overtime and then beat City on penalties. I will say that Arsenal played quite well, and I expected City to beat them in regular time, but Arteta was able to adequately resist. Mixed feelings about this match, but in any case, congratulations to Arsenal on their first win this season, maybe it will give them extra confidence in the new season.

In fact throughout the game time it was evident that the teams were playing at the same level, no wonder not many goals were scored. I also don't understand about such a big extra time, there were few pauses and not so big that would add 11 minutes, but it played into Arsenal's hands. The two players that had a head clash during a corner against Man City were the ones that led to the game pause. From my understanding, Arsenal used that little break to have more energy to withstand Man city pressure and unlucky for City Akanji leg deflected the ball into the goal post. Arsenal has really improved in their game because I never expected such brilliant performance from them. Arteta and his team will have a fantastic surprise for their fans this season. Pep should have see this coming because history repeated itself again. In community shield Arsenal is always king over Man City.

They now look like they looked at the start of last season, but as we remember the end of the season didn't go well for them, so I hope despite these strange cup coincidences, Arsenal can be champions this season. There's no point in saying that in advance of course, but as long as they're in good form, why not?

The share of goals scored in extra time is huge in Arsenal's championship. Trossard turned the last chance for Arsenal into a goal. He was also a bit lucky because the ball hit Akanji and he scored. Arsenal won the cup on penalties. Arsenal made a great start to the season with the Community Shield.

Of course it's a surprise, even I thought Man City would win. Aaron Ramsdale was able to perform superbly under goal. He was able to break Rodri's penalty kick and sure enough he was voted the best player of the match. Of course Arsenal has good capital to welcome the EPL. To be honest, before the game I also thought Manchester City were close to winning, but Arsenal were tactically better than Manchester City in this game. They played a very good game against Manchester City. Arteta did well against his former coach Pep. However, I think Arsenal still need a good striker. Especially, they need a quality striker who can play in the number 9 position. On the other hand, we saw in this game that Manchester City are not ready yet. Last season they didn't start the league well, but they performed well afterwards. This season they could be in the same situation again.

I love the fighting spirit that Arsenal put in and didn't give up the match until Trossad had an opportunity to equalise the game. It was an unbelievable goal for Man City and Pep,for they were waiting for the last whistle so that they can celebrate their victory. But as luck was on Arsenal side,they snatched the victory at the last minutes from Man City which was sealed up by a wonderful penalty shoot out that gave Arsenal the best opportunity to revenge their victory that was snatched from them by Man City last year. Arsenal started this season in a miraculous way.

It is definitely something to see, they won the game at 100th minute basically, of course penalties was the official winning point but we are talking about getting the score at 100th minute and that should be a lesson thought to everyone in football world, specially to the kids. If you keep fighting and having a chance, then you are going to end up getting the result as well, if you give up then you are not going to win at all.

City got to defense way too much by the end, and they just wanted to park the bus for the score since they were winning, all of their players were at defense just trying to not get scored. If you keep playing like that then of course other team (arsenal in this c ase) will find a chance eventually.

Barcelona will need a lot of money to get Bernardo Silva in the team. I do not think that is happening. First of all Manchester City is not even interested in selling Bernardo Silva. Even if they are selling him, they are going to ask for a huge amount of money. Which is definitely not going to be good value for money for Barcelona, especially right now. I think Barcelona is going for him and are even interested in him a little because he did indicate that he wants to move out from Manchester City. But just because the player wanted to move out and maybe Evan is interested in playing for Barcelona, does not mean that Barcelona will definitely be able to get him. In the end, it is all about money.

You are right, in the end it is unlikely that Barcelona will succeed in signing Bernardo Silva because of money.
But it's always possible for Manchester City to be interested in a barter or if they find a deal that we don't know right now. Barcelona's main obstacle is money, but Barcelona also has the opportunity to recruit Silva with another approach.

I'm not trying to deny you, but that's one other possibility that could have happened between Barcelona and Manchester City regarding Bernardo Silva. Barcelona's interest in Bernardo is not without reason, so I think Laporta will find a solution for Xavi's wish on this one.

But wasn't there a massive offer from Saudi Arabia as well for Bernardo Silva? Or is that not relevant anymore? I remember that they wanted to triple his salary and if he isn't sure yet what to do, the offer from Saudi Arabia would at least increase his salary expectations and that is where it becomes difficult. Barcelona has systematically overpaid players and I guess they don't want to be stuck in a similar situation again.

I never really understood why Silva has been so eager to leave the club all the time or whether that was just a rumor, but he played most of the games in one of the best teams in the world. It makes it a bit odd, but now that Dembele is gone from Barcelona, it could actually be a real option for him to go there.

It's true, Man City is out of luck and Pep Guardiola looks less ambitious to win the Community Shield trophy. Arsenal on the other hand, really need this trophy, because this year they have not won any championship trophies. The game that ended in a penalty shoot-out cannot be taken as a measure of quality, I think it would be better to think of it as luck.

Appreciation should be given to Arteta squad, which is able to offset the pressure from Man City. Hopefully they can break Man City dominance next season, with the squad's current mentality.

Arsenal played very good football, they had good composure and sticked to their game plan. Many would have expected Manchester City to come out victorious yesterday but the reverse was the case, Arsenal showed how hungry they are for success this season. If they keep this up, they may find City’s weak points and capitalize on that to their advantage.

Barcelona is still trying to hire Bernardo Silva from Manchester City while they don't have a good financial situation and they send any good offer to this layer, which means that's normal to see their offer rejected just in a few hours because Macnshter City is a team with a good financial situation and they don't get attracted with offers like this one they got from Barcelona.
Xavi wants to hire Bernardo Silva and he asked the team to hire send an offer for this player but even after selling Dembele, still they can't send a good offer for Bernardo Silva and it seems Bernardo is going to stay with Guadiola for another season.

Well I didn't expect to see Manchester City losing this game either but unfortunately that what exactly happened! Manchester City players weren't able to start the season with a victory, I don't know what's wrong with them with every starting matches, the beginning isn't impressive for them..
When you find yourself playing penalties, you know it is 50/50 so don't expect much from any team..
They have UEFA Super Cup next week vs Sevilla and hopefully they can bring it home at least..

I assume most people didn't expect Man City to lose, not only you. Man City is the favorite team, they always won against Arsenal in the last few matches. Moreover, they have just won a treble winner with almost the same squad (only İlkay Gündoğan who left the squad), they have established and stronger squad. Based on the players' mentality and quality, Man City is superior against Arsenal. But it looks like Guardiola didn't play with full squad, De Bruyne didn't play as the starter and Haaland was replaced by Palmer in minute 64'. I don't know why Guardiola should do this, it is not the best he can do. Ideally, Haaland must play until the penalty shootout and De Bruyne played as the starter.

Indeed. Penalty shootout is about the players' mentality. Which players who have a better mentality, they will have a better chance to win. Another reason is about the quality of Goalkeeper. Man City used their substitution Goalkeeper, while Arsenal used their main Goalkeeper. Of course, Arsenal has the advantage when the match will end with penalty shootout.

It’s not like Manchester City did not perform well. But the thing is the performance could have been a lot better. After watching this match, I think Arsenal call actually give Manchester City a good fight for the title again. And let’s remember that Arsenal was able to win this match on penalties.

Manchester City lost the match to Arsenal, but we all saw how they played, they performed well in the match, I can still say their performance was better than Arsenal performance, Arsenal also played well but I still see that Manchester city is better than Arsenal, but Arsenal was lucky to score a goal when the match was about to end, maybe the goal scored by Arsenal was caused by the referee because he didn’t blow early, 8 minutes extra time was  awarded in the match, but the referee didn’t blow until they spent 11 minutes which gave Arsenal opportunity to score, let’s say during the extra time they wasted some time which was added to the initial 8 minutes awarded, I can say the minutes they wasted wasn’t even up to 3 minutes.

Then we can see that Andre Onana had a brilliant career while at Ajax, he became a goalkeeper who made a significant contribution in winning three trophies there and previously he had worked with Ten Hag. So I think with his arrival now Manchester United have a very good new ammunition in goalkeeping position, I can't wait to see how great he is in the Premier League next season and I think with his experience with Ten Hag. I think Onana will have no problem adapting to playing at Manchester United.

To be honest, I doubt André Onana if you say he is one of the best goalkeepers out there. André Onana is an experienced player in several competitions, but his performance will not be as good as De Gea in my opinion. Ten Hag may have reasons why he really wants to bring André Onana to Old Trafford, but I doubt he will fit in with what was planned.

André Onana has indeed proven his quality with Inter last season, but in the Premier League it is definitely different. I doubt it, but I think André Onana will try his best and gain more confidence in his new team in the future.

 Onana is a good keeper, but I can't compare him with David de Gea because he's not up to the Spanish keeper's standard. It's fine if a keeper knows how to do one or two skills aside from keeping but in his own case, he likes coming out to much and sometimes I ask my self who he leaves the goal post open for. Most players are aware of this issue and often take advantage of it when they want to punish the Red devil's.
He'd need to rethink this his attitude of coming out of the post and try to tighten his area because failure to this, it could cost them a lot and he could also be benched regularly.

Manchester united's defenders were always become the main problem even since the last season. I meant we must be aware of how so many players like dalot or even meguire were too often in creating blunder in result MU conceded goals against another club.
Onana has been trying so hard in protecting its net during the pre season but meguire and dalot have become the main actors from the blunders to happen. Onana's fault just going out from his post.

Onana must not do that again by going leave from his position to make sure there will be no long shoot can't be anticipated by him. Onana's performance is quite good caused by he was able blocking a difficult attack from its opponent.
MU defenders are always becoming the main concern here. Ten hag shall get rid of some players in the defensive line. Meguire and dalot must be sold.

This is how we definitively want the game to be even in next season. Let there be more contenders for the league title. That will make the league more competitive and hard to decide who’ll win the premier league title next season. I expect Manchester United, Tottenham and also Chelsea to be amongst the favourites for the next season title after their individual outstanding performances in the Pre-season games.

Chelsea impressed me the most and that's not just because I'm a fan of the club but from the way Pochettino has made them to play in the preseason, I'm very confident that they can go on to compete for the title against Arsenal and Manchester city. Manchester city won't be in their best form because they have altered their squad players and by letting go of some big players in the team last season. They'll feel the impact of that chance no matter how good the remaining players will play. Some players already mastered their roles but the new players will have to start getting use to their position and by then other clubs might have take advantage of this to take better position in winning the league.

Tottenham is unlikely to be a contender, as for Manchester United and Chelsea, it is not clear how ready they are to compete with City, especially Chelsea, because Pochettino is creating a new team and we do not know what they will be capable of. I think if Klopp gets off to a good start then Liverpool will be able to get good results because if they are somewhere in the middle of the table again they will be looking for a new manager.

Manchester united is very clear they can't compete for the title and that's because of the type of goal keeper they went to buy. He has many mistakes just waiting to happen like we saw in the preseason game against Liverpool that he conceded from the half way line and that's because he wasn't in his goal post like other keepers used to. When a keeper wants to get involved in the game play, it works better when the team are good in possession of the ball and not as bad as Manchester united are. They don't have a defends to protect the keeper when mistakes like that happens and that's why they don't look favorite to me.

 After yesterday's match between Manchester City for the community shield Arsenal has shown that if you want to frustrate City you need to have solid defence that would mark out the key players of their team and that's what Saliba did to Halland he marked him closely and cut out the connection between him and the Midfield and Halland couldn't get good passes fr   m Debruyne, fantastic play from Arteta in reading the game and holding City to a penalty draw.
 If you notice halland had, zero goal, less dribble, several position lost and few touches and because he's currently their key player in getting the goal when he's marked out it becomes difficult for City to score more and cause pressure on opposition teams, Arsenal really needed this win more because they've been in need of a trophy and this win would boost the moral of players against the start of a new season nextweek and if they continue with this zeal and hunger to win games they'll become very strong contenders and perform alot better than the previous season.

Some persons have a different view about the game, they feel Guardiola made a huge gamble with the game by deciding to leave Kevin De Bruyne on the bench against a team like Arsenal who will always play good football and try to hold possession throughout the game but I feel Arsenal have made huge improvements and are on a fast track to matching City and that was practically put in play against Manchester City in that game.

No matter how good a goalkeeper is, if the defenders don't support him well, that goalkeeper is useless. United's defenders make some common mistakes, some common mistakes by defenders call into question the goalkeeper's performance. Manchester United management has recruited a good quality goalkeeper to their club but they also needed some good quality defenders to hold the team's defence.
