Brighton have surprised me with their start to the season and probably have surprised their competitors too therefore there is no chance Arteta will take them lightly. It was a fantastic effort by Brighton last season to end in 6th place with De Zerbi as their manager. For them to start this season strong (with a new manager after De Zerbi left) sends out a strong message.

If Brighton took a point they would probably settle for that but Arsenal would probably feel they can win every game they play.

I consider Brighton a strong team and I am not underestimating them at all against Arsenal. They have done well in their last two games - they have also been prolific in scoring goals. So I don't think Arsenal will underestimate Brighton - while I am sure Arsenal will try to concentrate on finding a way to beat them.

Brighton is not a small team in the Premier League in my opinion - but I agree that Brighton is still lower rated than Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City and some others. It's still early in the season and all the players are still eager to reach their full potential.

Against a club that's still kinda 'lost' like United or Chelsea and if Brighton's at home, sure Brighton is a good spot as an underdog.  They were a 4 to 1 underdog vs United at home last week.  But if playing vs a club that has established itself as one of the top clubs in the EPL and playing against them away, dunno...  It's gonna be sketchy.  I do think Brighton could get one in tho.  But it's gonna be something like 2 - 1, 3 - 1 for Arsenal imho.

But yeah, big match this weekend and this early in the season...  Man United vs Liverpool.    This one is gonna be hilarious.

Ugarte signs for Manchester United, here we go.    First the sides were said to be close to a loan agreement. But all of a sudden we find out that it is a permanent deal. 50m euros + 10m euros bonuses.

I think it is a great deal. Maybe some will find this sum too much. But I think it is okay considering how much they spent on Leny Yoro transfer. Ugarte is a talented defensive midfielder.

They are making many moves for strengthening the defense. I hope this bring results in the short term. They are still lacking in defense as you can see from the recent results also. 

In the end, Man United could get their final piece of the pie, even though it had to go through a very long process and negotiations. Now it remains to be seen if he could bring a new color to the midfield and make Man United even stronger. It might not be easy, considering Man United are still without their full squad due to injuries to Hojlund and Leny Yoro but with his presence it is hoped that he can make a difference (it's quite unfortunate that he couldn't play in the match against Liverpool).

If Brighton can play that bad against Arsenal in the first half and only be a goal down at half-time, then end the game with a draw at full-time then it means Brighton should have an excellent season. Rice deserved the first and second yellow cards therefore deserved being sent-off and when that happened it allowed Brighton to get back in to the game.

Stealing a point from the 2nd most favoured title contender? I think it is a wonderful job by Brighton!    Of course the red card was an important help also. But they were still playing against a very strong competitor.

I don't know why Rice was sent off there by the way.    It doesn't look like a foul deserving a second yellow card there, what do you think?

Veltman doesn't even get a yellow for that kick to the foot. Referees can still be really awkward with their decisions in the PL...  If Rice wasn't sent off there I think Arsenal would win this match.

Before the sending off it did seems as though Arsenal would pick up all three points. I think the sending off was the correct decision because he did deserve both yellow cards (the second automatically resulting in a sending off). The reason why he received the second yellow card was because Rice kicked the ball away just as the opponent was going to kick it but followed through on to Rice. If Rice did not take away the advantage of the opposing team by kicking the ball away from them and thus stopped them attacking, he would have stayed on the pitch.

Unfortunately for Arsenal, it was the right decision.

If Rice wasn't sent off there I think Arsenal would win this match.

Haaland scored three goals as he helped Manchester City to a comfortable win. At one stage the game was 1-1 when West Ham United equalised but in the end they simply could not cope with Manchester City who already look like they are on their way to another Premier League title.

Today Chelsea failed really hard. They were the much better side but they couldn't prevent the match from ending in a 1-1 draw... This was very unlucky after getting a huge win last week. I hope they make up for it next time against Bournemouth away.

Indeed. Palace played really great football and this year they look like they finally can fight for top 10 or even top 8 and if they continue to play like they did today , I'm sure the victories should come as well.

Man United - Liverpool has been a please to watch as long as you're a fan of football because Liverpool played amazingly today and a very well deserved victory and United it's the same old team from last season but with worse improvements which is incredible that they found a way to look even more terrible than last year

Indeed. Palace played really great football and this year they look like they finally can fight for top 10 or even top 8 and if they continue to play like they did today , I'm sure the victories should come as well.

I was impressed with the way they defended against Chelsea and tried to make every opportunity they had to attack mean something. They have no intention of being dragged in to a relegation fight this season. What else was demonstrated today was that they deserved the draw but also showed Chelsea have a long way to go if they are to be challenging for a top four finish.

Depends on how you evaluate his priorities. He said that he would not agree to a salary reduction of even one dollar and for Chelsea this was unacceptable, and the transfer to Saudi Arabia slowed down Napoli (they also did not make financial concessions). As a result, Osimhen will either play on loan or just rest until winter, but one way or another he will receive 100% of his large salary.

Has he proven to be worth more time at Chelsea, what's he doing to make the board to trust in him this much. When you don't know what you're doing, it'll be visible to others except you.

You won't know a dime and all your thoughts will be that you're killing it meanwhile you're not. Someone should tell Todd he's killing the club. Chelsea should be challenging for titles (that's the club heritage and not building for the future that isn't looking bright).

We lost Osimhen but all hopes weren't lost since I thought we could get a strike in January but with this move of extending Jackson contract, I don't think they'll  be interested in another striker. We can wave goodbye to the dream of having Osimhen play for Chelsea.

Jackson is a flop indeed. Maybe he scored lately but this doesn't make me believe in him at all I'm afraid.    Chelsea should have paid the amount Napoli was demanding for Osimhen. Boehly already signs excessive amount of players. Instead he could have simply signed Osimhen. He would be worth it and they would have less amount of players.

When it comes to Osimhen, I think it is better than going to Saudi Arabia. He is still going to play European football and has a 80m euros release clause now. He can be signed in January despite his loan contract.

Southampton are priced at 4.50 to win, United at 1.78. I am extremely sceptical about United under Ten Hag, but I still don't expect any miracles here and I think United will win. It is unlikely that the players are ready to sabotage the manager at the very beginning of the season.
Overall, pretty dull pairings, only on the 15th there will be a game that requires attention Tottenham - Arsenal. Arsenal must win to stay in the race.

Well, they were a goal up and were down to ten men with around 40 minutes of the second half remaining. I am sure Arteta would have thought even with that they should have won the game considering it was being played at (their) home. Had it been Liverpool or Manchester City maybe he would have been happy with a point but with Brighton he probably feels they should take taken all three.

I think Crystal Palace played very well regardless of how Chelsea played. It seems the Chelsea players need time to settle and now they know Osimhen will not be their teammate they have to go out every week and perform otherwise their new manager will be sacked.

Not backing him but his individual performance last season activated the contract extension clause in his contract, same with Palmer. He earned that.

Chelsea should have paid the amount Napoli was demanding for Osimhen. Boehly already signs excessive amount of players. Instead he could have simply signed Osimhen. He would be worth it and they would have less amount of players.

Osimhen was demanding more than our max wage cap and the owners were not ready to break our wage structure, we were €3m apart. But going to Turkey for a dry loan is even worse.
