I would like to congratulate Aston Villa for managing to sign Philippe Coutinho first. This is an important transfer for them surely even if it is a loan deal. But they have the option to buy him for €40m too in case they are contented with his performance in the rest of the games. And their next game is going to be against Manchester United which is really difficult despite being an home game. I'm curious whether we'll be watching Coutinho in this one. I assume that he will enter the game in the second half.

I guess we should first wait and see whether he can get back on track fully. It is a great deal, but now that it is Aston Villa signing him also shows that there seem not to be too many clubs who really want him, especially not the biggest clubs in Europe. I will really never understand how such a great talent can't manage to perform on a constant basis. I guess most of us agree that he is an outstanding soccer player, but not much of a help if he plays one good game and two bad games.

While people were talking about the Everton - Leicester match tomorrow, the match was postponed unfortunately. It is due to covid-19 as always. Covid-19 has been just tearing this league apart too. This was already a missing match for both teams and it has been postponed once more. I don't know until when things will go on like this. I hope to see covid-19 leaving football alone after winter.

The reason why Aston Villa are in a position to have high profile players signing up for them is because of their manager Steven Gerrard, who was a legend for Liverpool and he would be a big part of the thought process any player would have in mind when considering a moving there. I think Coutinho will flourish at Villa working with his ex-teammate Gerrard. He will probably needs a few games to get going at a high level of play and physicality but he should be received very well by Villa fans. The more pressing covid 19 in England, of course it will not be surprising if we will see matches that will be postponed, there are several Premier League club matches that have been postponed now due to clubs experiencing a shortage of players due to covid 19, Everton and Leicester matches are actually matches postpone before, but because currently Leicester City only has a number of less than 14 players (13 players and one goalkeeper) as a requirement to qualify for matches in the English league, that's why the English Premier League again decided to postpone the Everton and Leicester matches again.

Luckily, Man City and Chelsea have not had postponed matches so far, so everything can still go according to schedule so it doesn't disturb their concentration in other competitions such as the UCL. It's not only competitions in England that have had some delays, but other leagues have experienced it too.

I'm curious about what Tottenham will do this week too. Since Conte came to the team, they still haven't lost a game in the Premier League. This is a really motivating thing for Tottenham. But Arsenal also are in a great shape. They are having a wonderful season now and they are at the fourth position in the standings. But it looks like they have a really big obstacle in front of them like Tottenham. As it is a home game for Tottenham too, I think that they can benefit from this. And the game seems most likely to end in a draw to me.

There is still time in the January transfer window for more deals to go ahead. Since money will be tight for many football clubs I am expecting lots of loan transfers going ahead rather than players being bought and sold. Will Conte be allowed to bring players in to Tottenham that he feels will fit the team or will the chairman make him wait until the end of season before spending cash?

Also, another factor that may affect the course of the match will be Arsenal's unexpected defeat by Nottingham and relegation from the FA Cup. As far as I know, this is the second such departure of the club at such an early stage of the tournament and last time Nottingham was also guilty of this. Such defeats can shake up and motivate the team well, but it happens that, on the contrary, they hit confidence. In any case, both Tottenham and Arsenal really look great in the Premier League and it will be interesting to see this confrontation. It is also worth considering that there are only two points in the standings between the clubs and therefore both teams can play with caution and the match can really end in a draw.

Everton vs Leicester City has been postponed therefore the only game Premier League taking place this evening is Southampton vs BrentfordSouthampton may have been purchased by a new owner but the funds will take time to get through to the manager to start spending on new players. I will go for the following scoreline: Southampton 1-2 Brentford

Aston Villa made a really good transfer by signing Philippe Coutinho. The Steven Gerrard link must have been effective especially. He has been loaned to them and there is a buying option which is 40 million euros. It is good to see Coutinho back in the Premier League of course and we will see how much he will perform in the remaining matches. If Aston Villa find his performance good enough, they might think of signing him permanently too.
40 Million Euros can be considered a reasonable price for Coutinho. It will be nice for Aston Villa to play him on loan for the team to see the benefit. If there is good synergy in the team, Coutinho could wear Aston Villa permanently. I think it was one of the best options Aston Villa could get, and they got it. He's done great things with Liverpool in the Premier League.

I think Steven Gerrard made a very right decision where he managed to sign Philippe Coutinho even though with the loan option as we know Felipe Coutinho was so successful when he was in Liverpool uniform and even Steven Gerrard was there but today he returned to the Premier League with strengthening Aston villa under Steven Gerrard in the English Premier League I think this will have a very good impact on the performance in formulating a strategy where you can't play in several positions both right wing and left wing I am very sure that the thaw is able to maximize the ability that owned by Philippe Coutinho this season in the rest of the English Premier League Coutinho was a great player when he was on the Liverpool team. He was a young and talented player. The prediction was that he would become the star player of the future. But after he joined the Barcelona team, the team did not benefit from him. Basically, I would say he was a complete loss project for Barcelona. He did not live up to the expectations of the Barcelona team. Now Aston Villa has picked Coutinho. Under Gerrard's direction, Coutinho might become proficient again.

TOTAL VOTES IN THE POLL: 48
Manchester City 14 (29.2%) Manchester United 13 (27.1%) Liverpool 11 (22.9%) Chelsea 8 (16.7%) Leicester City 2 (4.2%)
I think some of the members should consider revising their votes because Manchester United and Leicester City will not be anywhere near winning the Premier League this season. Even though Manchester City are clear favourites to win it, Chelsea and Liverpool are not out of the race just yet.

For now, the biggest candidates for the Premier League title are Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool. But now, Manchester City are really far ahead of their nearest opponents in the standings. Considering this huge gap, I really wonder if the Chelsea - Liverpool duo will be able to get near Manchester City on the coming weeks. Manchester City got easy championships in similar scenarios. But hopefully, this won't be the same. Otherwise, it would be another boring run for the title.

Manchester City's chance of winning the title this season are very large compared to Chelsea and Liverpool. This is simply because Manchester City managed to keep the distance of more than 10 point with its rivals. If Manchester City win this weekend it will be very difficult for anyone to stop them from winning the title.

They must win to prevent Manchester City from getting even more ahead of them. I know that the game is going to be played in Etihad but it is not "mission impossible" for Chelsea. They just need to play smart. The rest would come. We saw that they defeated Manchester City in their last two head-to-head away games. Why wouldn't they do it again?

Newcastle have funds to spend but they are taking things slowly, allowing manager Howe time to settle in and to allow the players a chance to prove themselves. As for the game this evening, you went for a draw and I went for an away win... let us see what the score will be when the full time whistle is heard Everton vs Leicester City has been postponed therefore the only game Premier League taking place this evening is Southampton vs BrentfordSouthampton may have been purchased by a new owner but the funds will take time to get through to the manager to start spending on new players. I will go for the following scoreline: Southampton 1-2 Brentford Change of ownership of course will not immediately provide a complete change to their performance, of course it will take time for the manager to get the right players for their squad composition, just like what happened to newcastle today, even though they have a lot of money but they just got 1 or 2 players in the transfer market. It's hard to guess who will win in that match, because the current conditions of the two teams are not much different, so I think maybe the two teams will draw 0-0 or 1-1 in the match later.

The covid 19 outbreak has hit the world of football again, where a lot of European players have been affected by the virus, so that some matches have to be postponed, such as the Leicester city vs Everton match. Currently, especially many matches in the English league have to be postponed due to the outbreak, such as in the Liverpool vs Arsenal match in the English league cup a few weeks ago, we hope that in January there will be no more virus afflicting football players so that matches are no longer postponed like they used to be

The World Health Organization made everyone aware. Clubs should have strictly reintroduced restrictions. If everyone was aware, then many Serie and Premier League matches would not have been abandoned now. I don't expect the situation to improve so quickly. The situation will get worse in the future if the players are not aware of their own initiative.

The only EPL game taking place this evening will see West Ham jump in to 4th place if they beat Norwich (which on current form should fairly easy to do because Norwich are sitting at the bottom of the table)
West Ham United vs Norwich City
Well done to West Ham for playing well during the period Moyes has been their manager, they will fight for that top 4 finish until the end of the season. Norwich unfortunately are favourites to be relegated again... they get promoted to the Premier League then get relegated, they win promotion again and now look like they will be relegated again.
I will go this score: West Ham 3-0 Norwich
