Swapped Kane for Haaland without hesitation (at least for GW2).

Same here, even though it is never smart to do transfers this early, I was afraid of price rise/fall and missing the funds when deadline comes. Kane was plying quite deep and did not look very dangerous while Haaland always looked ready for runs behind opposition defense. DeBruyne is probably the best player to supply perfect balls for those runs so I am seeing a lot of goals from this combination.

Swapping Kane for Haaland ahead of game 2 is an easy decision to make, but deciding to go for Haaland or Salah as game week 2 captain might be the tougher decision to make, especially knowing that Man City are playing Bournemouth next, while Liverpool would welcome Crystal Palace.

I'm sticking with my line up, since I didn't have Kane for Game Week 1 to begin with, I just swapped Matty Cash for Nathan Ake, Cash is 4th  most swapped out player ahead of game week 2, behind Kane, Jesus and Perisic, I'm actually more surprised to see Alexander-Arnold make the top 5 of the most swapped out player, I mean it's only game 1 and it's not as though Liverpool fixtures aren't supposed to be favorable.

Yeah you did well but you used tripple captain in first game week which is not that good. That is chip best used in double game weeks when players have 2 games. Not that it works every time but last season it worked perfectly with Salah against Leeds amd Notwich. It doesn't get better than that.

Couple of seasons ago I gave it to Aguero, and he got injured in first 20 minutes of first game and got 1 point.

The Fantasy Premier League site https://fantasy.premierleague.com/ updates a player’s value based on his “transfers in” and “transfers out” ratio.

This means after the weekend’s games you should confidently make your transfers before everyone else. Most people wait until they’re at work on Monday to act. If a player underperformed on Sunday, don’t wait until later in the week to sell him. Sell him Sunday night before his value drops.

Only Liverpool, Chelsea, and Newcastle recorded better/higher team xG in GW1 than Haaland's individual xG...which is kinda crazy. I understand people swapping Kane for Haaland to avoid price changes but in general, you would want to avoid making transfers early in the week. A lot can happen during the week, from getting covid, picking up a knock or simply being rotated/benched. Transfers should be made as close to the deadline as possible.

Kane owners were unlucky not to get a return against the Saints. You rarely see Spurs score four goals without Kane getting at least one assist or goal. I'm not sure how Son didn't see him there, Kane was asking for the ball for a good 2-3 seconds, would've been an easy tap in...

I understand people swapping Kane for Haaland to avoid price changes but in general, you would want to avoid making transfers early in the week. A lot can happen during the week, from getting covid, picking up a knock or simply being rotated/benched.

400k transfer yesterday, now it went up to 700k haaland transfers today, 0.2 cost diffence (those 400k already saved £0.2), imo people who keep waiting are gonna get priced out. my GW2 prediction: haaland will stay fit until matchday and then he'll score a poker against recently promoted side bournemouth, meanwhile, Kane is going to have another shitty day against Chelsea

I guess I got alot to learn from you guys lol. Im just way below the average points and the only decent players that I got was Salah and Thiago Silva lol. Well Ramsdale was one of it but he was a sub so yeah that doesnt count. Most of my players had like 1 point for each of them LOL, I was so bad and I forgot to assign captain as well so the system automatically assigned it to G. Jesus  . Disaster GW1 for me

What a shitty week indeed, especially with the Gabriel Jesus as captain pick,  but it could have gone your way too. but I'm curios, If Ramsdale was your bench keeper then who is the starting keeper ? except you're got another starting keeper like Ward at 4.0m, what's the reason for having 2 starting goalkeepers and spending a little extra of budget that could come handy for getting other players.

I was barely above the average of the week with 65 points too, but I don't think it was a terrible week in general.

Yes, I know, but everything is playable, right? As you mentioned, using triple captain in a double game week does not always work out because some key players are likely to be injured or dropped for the second game, especially when there are champions league games.

My marathon coach advised me to start slowly and finish on the last lap when others who started fast dropped out, but this never worked because those who were already far ahead always kept going forward. When you have the opportunity, it is always best to begin with a far gab.

If I had followed your advice, I could have gone 100+, but I believe Kane will have a better game week in the coming weeks. He scored over 200 points last season, and I'm not going to let him go. My only regret was swapping Kulusevski for Mahrez two days before the game.

For me FPL is a game of probabilities, it is not granted that it will work better, but odds that your player will pick more points in 2 games than in one game are much better for sure.

Same with transfers, I will never go for defensive midfielder even though they will have an odd great haul like Jorginho this GW. But that is the beauty of the game, we all have our own ideas and we will see whoose was better in the end.

Starting very great early could really be helpful and all, Especially in a relatively small pool, so when the drought comes around one will have something bank on.

I had quite a number of let down too, but my team wasn't just about game week 1, I think I put the first 8 weeks into consideration for my picks.

Getting 13 points for for triple captain isn't so bad after all, even though it's much better to be used in a double game week because of the chances.

Holy heck, this is actually making sense now and I was a dumb fuck I guess  . Why would I even need two starting keepers because one is going to be a sub. So anyway, the other one was Allison as I thought Liverpool would keep the cleansheet record against Fulham. Alright lesson learned I guess, so this is going to save me some extra budget for the next one

Yeah, I quite agree it might be better to have a low budget goalkeeper because at the end of the season the difference between the best goalkeeper and the 6th placed goalkeeper might not even be up to 20-30 points, however, it all depends on the team structure, when someone choose to go for a couple of top valuable midfielder and a couple of premium forward players as well, so instead of not being able to afford another expensive Liverpool outfield player which may cost nothing than 7m or having to give up a Liverpool spot, you can go for Allison which is just 5.5m. It's all just about the team structure.

Premium keeper is an ok option if that is the way somebody wants to go. I went sort of premium this season and took Ramsdale since Arsenal has great fixtures.

The problem is not price it is free slots from that team. Liverpool has numerous great players to take and I can't justify taking their keeper. Let's assume we all have Salah and Trent. Robertson, Dias & Nunez would all find their way in my team before Alisson.

decent choice, he is imo Saints' best player. But I ended up going with Bernardo Silva, saw him at 7.0 and thought it was

B.Silva's future at Manchester City is in doubt as Barcelona is expected to make a bid at any time, so I doubt he would start, but he is still a good buy at 7.0.

how likely is it that a CB like Thiago Silva will get you more points than a fullback who's able to provide assists and even score more goals than a cb?    also, if your sub GK isn't 4.0 you're doing something wrong, subs should be super cheap nobodies

It is likely that by the end of the week its price will drop (40,000 more transfers are needed for this to happen).

Like me, not used to playing this kind of game, and I even put one Arsenal player on the bench in GW1 and it didn't count the points, but that seems to be the only problem I'm having in GW1. Also, the mistake in the selection of players at the start made it look like I didn't have a good chance for the next week, because there was no chance to make a re-transfer like in the beginning. Indeed, there is still a chance to use Wildcards and Free Hits but I think it would be better to use them later if it can only be used once or maybe it can be used multiple times, but it's useless if there are points that will also be deducted from the transfers made. But just now, I've only used 1 free transfer and of course it's quite helpful if it's available every week.

this is the lesson that I learned last season, had all players on bench between 5.0 and 6.0, that is taking more/less 5-6 millions from team budget
now I have all bottom players on bench, they are benched in real life as well

Kane brought my team down in first round, but decided to let him stay in second round, Chelsea is good opponent, but I think that Spurs will be better than Chelsea this season, and could even win over the weekend, and Kane knows to score in city derbies

If you have a lot of problems with your squad, wildcard even this early is good option. You will have another one in second half of the season, and this season even one free wildcard after world cup.

I have been using wildcards quite early in some seasons and often after gameweek 5. No point holding it off too long if you need to make let us say at least 5 transfers.
