B.Silva's future at Manchester City is in doubt as Barcelona is expected to make a bid at any time, so I doubt he would start, but he is still a good buy at 7.0.

I saw it coming. I'm not sure what's going on with Pep and his players; they appear to be losing interest in the club, despite the fact that they are playing the most attractive football and have made more progress than any other top side in the Champions League; I'm still puzzled as to why B.Silva would choose a club that is struggling to register players. UEFA should look into Barcelona's transfer dealings because they are breaking old player contracts in order to reduce wages while still buying players. It's insane.

the only decent players that I got was Salah and Thiago Silva lol. Well Ramsdale was one of it but he was a sub so yeah that doesnt count.

how likely is it that a CB like Thiago Silva will get you more points than a fullback who's able to provide assists and even score more goals than a cb?    also, if your sub GK isn't 4.0 you're doing something wrong, subs should be super cheap nobodies

Not sure if it's wise to spend a Liverpool slot on a goalkeeper. I would prefer to have three active players on the field.

Yeah, I quite agree it might be better to have a low budget goalkeeper because at the end of the season the difference between the best goalkeeper and the 6th placed goalkeeper might not even be up to 20-30 points, however, it all depends on the team structure, when someone choose to go for a couple of top valuable midfielder and a couple of premium forward players as well, so instead of not being able to afford another expensive Liverpool outfield player which may cost nothing than 7m or having to give up a Liverpool spot, you can go for Allison which is just 5.5m. It's all just about the team structure.

Alright, Im doing it way wrong for the GW1 and lets see if I can atleast get over the average points for GW2. Its all just make sense though, why would I even spend my budget on all those sub players. I thought I had to get exactly 100 or close to that therefore I was tweaking abit of my lineup which ended up with most of them getting 1-2 points for me  silly of me

Like me, not used to playing this kind of game, and I even put one Arsenal player on the bench in GW1 and it didn't count the points, but that seems to be the only problem I'm having in GW1. Also, the mistake in the selection of players at the start made it look like I didn't have a good chance for the next week, because there was no chance to make a re-transfer like in the beginning. Indeed, there is still a chance to use Wildcards and Free Hits but I think it would be better to use them later if it can only be used once or maybe it can be used multiple times, but it's useless if there are points that will also be deducted from the transfers made. But just now, I've only used 1 free transfer and of course it's quite helpful if it's available every week.

If you have a lot of problems with your squad, wildcard even this early is good option. You will have another one in second half of the season, and this season even one free wildcard after world cup.

I have been using wildcards quite early in some seasons and often after gameweek 5. No point holding it off too long if you need to make let us say at least 5 transfers.

Using an early wildcard this season would be very reasonable, given the fact there will be unlimited transfer during the World Cup break, so it makes much sense to project the team towards the World Cup break.

The transfers back and forth are also messing with people's squad, you can ask @tomahawk9

Nah, I do have Ronaldo on my team though. Well atleast it seems Ronaldo is still staying with the club atleast for GW2 so its good for me. I made few transfer earlier today, cost me few 'transfer point' (actually 24 transfer point iirc) and I kinda wonder how do I check how many transfer point do I have? I cant seems to find how many that I have though

Those are simply points that get deducted from your score. You have one free transer and every aditional one costs 4 points.

What you did is quite bad and I would play wildcard chip in your place. I have never in my life went for more than -12 and that is only is some special situations with double game weeks.

If you play wildcard it will remove that minus points but than you can't use it again before world cup.

I absolutely agree with Trofo! In addition, you will not only save your points, but you will be able to edit your team until Saturday.

Note: FPL has gifted each manager unlimited transfers between GW16 and GW17 in a bid to help them work through the disruptive World Cup schedule. Therefore, there will be four moments during the season – excluding the Free Hit - when managers can make unlimited transfers.

• Pre-season (before GW1)
• First Wildcard (between GW2 and GW16)
• World Cup Wildcard (before GW17)
• Final Wildcard (between GW18 and GW38)

Note: Managers are given a free transfer every week to help manage their squad. If they choose not to make one, the transfer rolls over into the next week. The maximum number of free transfers a manager can hold at any one time is two, unless a Free Hit or Wildcard has been played.

I didnt know and was simply clicking on that lol, yeah pretty much should have used the wildcard because I need to transfer alot because majority of my players were doing nothing lol. No biggie though, I think I might do few more in the future depending on how it goes so I'll make sure to use that free wildcard next

While I doubt Rashford going PSG this season, because he's definitely going to a bench warmer except Christophe Galtier is planning to revert to a 4-2-3-1, with Messi dropping to the AM/SS role. and While would Rashford even head there if he couldn't secure a starting spot at Man United.

Heartbreaking news to those 26% of FPL managers who've believed Danny Ward would be the No. 1 Goalkeeper for Leicester City this season, Leicester are on the verge of signing a new goalkeeper Alex Smithies , and depending on the nature of the deal Ward could fall down the pecking order again, but Rodgers should still keep him at the spot for a little while longer right ?

That situation with Leicester keepers is what I expected from the start. Then when you consider that Leicester is one of the worst defenses in the league...It was easy to stay away from Ward for me. Had him in my team for just a couple of hours after Schmeichel news broke.

It is basically useless thing, it activates in case your captain does not play a single minute. I think that happened once to me in last 5 seasons.

You usually captain very nailed asset like Salah, so even if he doesn't start he will probably get in at some point of the game. But injuries in last moments do happen so better to have that fall back option.

Galtier said that he wants a forward, obviously a benchwarmer, cos PSG wants to sell Icardi, and considering both parties just had a meeting makes me think that Rashford could actually leave in this transfer window. Funny how Rashford's entourage starts moving right after the Gakpo rumours began to spread    

and about Danny Ward, yeah i'm glad i didn't fall for the 'buy both Leicester Gk' campaign that was going around in social media before GW1, almost pulled the trigger but i backed out at the last minute, i don't know how but i managed to buy a top-class GK while still keeping a strong team

Im totally clueless about this and it seems to activate the wildcard, I need to make a transfer so I did make one more transfer to activate it. In total I would have already spent 28 points for GW2 but Im not sure if the wildcard will affect this whole 28 points or only 4 points from the transfer that I made today so we'll see though.  Rough start for me

24 points, that's a whole lot. Like you, I am new to the game but I have devotee a little bit of my time to reading replies on this thread and asking questions offline to give me an edge. I never knew what point it would cost me exactly to make a transfer although my findings already grounded me on the ideaof point lose in transfers but, now I know. Thanks to Trofo with this piece of Information. Although, 4 points looks so much to deduct on a single transfer.

Just for clarification,  hope the single transfer remains activated even if I get to move a single player back and forth so many times.

In GW1, I seem to know exactly what I was doing but, am a little confused on game GW2. I guess I'll be limiting myself to the free transfer or maybe make 1 addition if I must.

I think Mitrovic is more of a fluke with the performance against Liverpool, I knew he couldn't stop scoring in the Championship last season but Premier League is a different ball game, Pukki can probably attest to that fact, once he gets the attention he deserves, it's going to be up to what midfielders can provide for him, I'd still rate Ivan Toney ahead of him, at least in my own books.

I was giving Salah the edge ahead of Haaland because of the Liverpool penalty duties, but not that Haaland seems to be on penalties duties too, I'm not so sure on who to stick with, but I'm leaning more towards Haaland just that, you never know with Guardiola, he could decide that all Haaland would get for the next game is just some ~60 minutes game time so as to keep him at the uttermost level of fitness.

Don't worry, when you use wildcard it takes all your transfer in that week into account. Doesn't matter if you did them before or after pressing use wildcard button.

You can still make as much transfers as you want for free until the deadline. Use it well   That is the beauty of the wildcard.

I had the same thought earlier today; I'm grateful for the 13 points he gave me in GW1, but I didn't see him producing 5-6 points per match day, so I swapped him out for Halaand. I'm looking forward to a long germ gain, so having Salah, Halaand, and Kane on the team is the right thing to do because each can guarantee me a decent point per match.

Salah can score, assist, and will always play 90 mins if fit; I can't say the same for Halaand; we all know how dramatic Pep can be with his strikers. Salah will be my Captain for as long as he is on the field.

It was just a matter of time, he played great in all the friendly matches and in GW1 when he was unlucky to get at least one assist. He could have scored 2 more goals in first half, they were much better than the chance from which he scored first goal.

Now if only Haaland could score a goal or two to make my day even better.
