Well it seems both Alvarez and Haaland are going to get crazy amount of points if you captain either one of them. Haaland with another Hattrick and Alvarez with two goals. Im really glad I chose Haaland at the end for the captain

Anyway it seems most of the midfield / strikers that most players have will ended up getting decent amount points though. Firmino just scored, Salah with the assist as well as both Jesus and  Martinelli

Salah's second assist at the last possible moment and subsequent two bonus points saved the gameweek for those of us who captained him, it's only 7 points difference at the end but it could have been so much worse. I mean we were for a brutal points swing with Haaland's quick hat-trick and Liverpool's FH struggles to score...man what a stressful couple of hours.

Salah's second assist at the last possible moment and subsequent two bonus points saved the gameweek for those of us who captained him, it's only 7 points difference at the end but it could have been so much worse. Had he not get those points man, I was 100% on letting him go tbvh, I would have been able to make decent squad rotation of another top midfielder and a valuable striker as well instead of wasting those valuable budget on him, as if that's not enough to go with what would have been a complete waste of captaincy, if that second assist hadn't come surely the 2 bonus points wouldn't have as well, so that'd have been losing as many as 26 points to an opponent that captained Haaland over the weekend and last night.. sigh 😏

Nice and quite insightful write up you've got there! Haaland playing as many as 30 minutes might always be enough to get significant amount of points for any game week, but the problem is with Guardiola you just can never be too sure, I saw several post tipping KDB as best option for the GW not knowing Guardiola have had other plans, I'm pretty sure Haaland likely wouldn't start the during the weekend, but I'd except for the fact that Liverpool are currently facing a bit of struggles themselves, I'd have said Salah should also get a breather because he's played every minute of Liverpool fixtures so far, at least as the UCL is due for the next midweek Klopp should prefer having him well rested and energetic.

Yeah pretty much these two are either going to play only for like 45 minutes or probably wont play at all this weekend. So I got both of these two on my draft but Im quite confused on who should I switch either one of them with, dang and Im not sure if taking Haaland out is going to be a wise choice considering that he is quite pricey

You can't really compare Salah to the rest of the players regarding fitness, he is one of those with natural fitness numbers trough the roof and he has incredible recovery. Don't you remember Salah playing 120 minutes every 3 days on AFCON coming back home and playing full 90 in the first game just a couple days later? At the same time Mane got 10 days off. He can and wants to play every game and that is why he is such great FPL asset.

If I could get even odds at who will play more minutes on the weekend I would put everything on Salah. That being said Haaland is in incredible form and could outscore Salah if he gets even just last 20 minutes. Torn between those for captaincy as well.

Salah is at probably at the pick of his fitness level and has never been injury prone, no doubt but my perspective is coming from the fact that it's still pretty much a very long season to play for and you can't afford your best player to unnecessarily get fatigued this early into the season, If it can be avoided. Given Haaland's terrific form too, Guardiola might likely not leave him on the bench for too long, especially if they're having a tough game.


I'm at a crossroad here, I'm need 3-4 transfers to feel confident go into this Game week, I'll be fine with 3, but all I have now is 2 transfers, I really don't like the idea of spending 4 extra points for the additional transfer, and using my wildcard(which I plan on using in 3-4 GW from now) now would literally be me wasting one transfer. My pessimism wouldn't let me imagine the possibility of the supposed transfers making up for those 4 points, or me not needing those 4 points at the end of the season, while I as well don't want to get comfortable with idea of losing extra points for any transfer

I tried getting Erling Haaland on my team over the weekend but, I already brought in Kevin De Bruyne and have Walker and Cancelo on my defence already and as such, the move wasn't allowed due to too many players from a single team unfortunately but not on expected, Erling Haaland scored yet another hat-trick right from the first half of the game. Mean while, Pep saw it fit to have De Bruyne on the bench, only to come on as a substitute.
These paste few game weeks have not worked so well for me, would be doing some real adjustment soon and see what points I could get in GW6.

Oops, why not Haaland over Walker but it might not sense for this weekend btw.

I had to settle for what I feel much is less than okay imo, my actual plan was to rotate in Kane for Gabriel Jesus and Gross for Rodrigo and Arnold for a cheaper Chelsea defender, Harry Kane would have been my captain for the game week, but I just had to stick with Salah yet again, at least there is a guaranteed more game time for him than Haaland imo.

Problem for attackers in FPL is that they get only 4 points for a goal and no points for clean sheet. Midfilders get 5 for goal and 1 point for clean sheet which makes them much more valuable. That is why Salah and De Bruyne are such good options.

Salah with 2 goals will outscore Firminho with 2 goals for a couple of points and will even get more bonus points on avarage.

Defenders get 6 points for goal and 4 points for clean sheet and that is why Trent should be in every FPL squad.

Everybody gets 3 points for assists. Now I was writing all this by memory so don't kill me if I am of by a point somewhere but I am quite sure it is all correct.

Exactly, as I always say and it's the same no matter what fantasy you get, the points are skewed towards goal contributions, which for a defender like Trent to make, or midfielders like Salah who score as often as they assist, it's an absolute craziness to put them out of your squad. And yes, I still haven't put Salah in (what the hell, right?) but I actually forgot to confirm my picks last game (wtf right?) so was a bit annoyed when I checked today but either way, least I maintained my position (13).

They're better off compared to me, the only week I've not captain Salah so far he had points and Haaland being my captain had 12(6) points, I literally would rid of me just if the transfer point had worked in my favor, and I'm still convinced that I'm better off with him today compared to Haaland.

Me who just sold Ivan Toney... and seeing he's now got a hattrick. Just when I thought I couldn't possibly make my life in FPL harder on myself, I go and do all of that woo hoo... Marsch also just got himself sent off, typical Leeds running themselves at a wall when they're down. I bet you Toney gets at least one more goal involvement, tsk!

Yikes having a bit of conflicting feelings about this. On one hand, I'd love if Manchester United win their next game again but I have Jesus and Martinelli on my draft lol. Oh well I guess I'll suck it up this week by getting way below average points again

Anyway, gratz to everyone that still have Haaland on the team. He scored another goal and might score another again( atleast I hope so ). I wish I have KDB on my team but he is quite expensive for a midfielder.

Salah for KDB is a not so significant different move imo, what's the essence ? other than the 0.8m difference in price, Salah is still the joint highest most point scoring midfielder in the FPL this season despite his awful form that 7 points more than KDB coming into this GW, I guess he's just being a victim of his own past success. If I'll be getting rid of Salah, it will be towards a change in my plan that is to get another striker upfront and you can't overlook Toney or Mitrovic or incoming Aubemeyang, so getting rid of Salah for me would be a move that will have to facilitate me upgrading my midfielder from Trossard to a supposedly better midfield option and another player upfront.

I hate going heavy on attack since forwards in FPL get so little points for goals and nothing from clean sheets. Midfielder will easily outperform striker even if he scores a couple of goals less during the season. My favorite formation is always 4-5-1 with two cheap but playing forwards as subs. This year that is not working since so many forwards are doing great and it shows on my rank.

Maybe Salah to good midfielder + my third 4.5 striker to Toney/Mitrović should be the next move I make. We shall see depending on the situation with rest of my chosen players.

Mitrovic and Kane both scored in their match, that Tottenham won over Fulham, and that improved my gameweek, but it is lousy so far

Chelsea had clean sheet in first round, and nothing after that, this week was one to expect another clean sheet, but they conceived goal in the end, will change my keeper

Everton holded clean sheet, that improved my defense points

Agreed. He's just been so successful that it makes him look bad now, not really his fault he's been overperforming. Add to that that KdB is much more injury prone than Salah, and it's a no brainer for me.

Am I really dumb or did your post just make me realise now you can change formation on FPL heh. You talking about formation just made me see I can do that now. I really ought to spend more time reading up competitions I'm paying to play!
