What is the quiet here? We still have one more match day before the break and free transfers. Perfect opportunity to go for that explosive one week punt that you don't want in your team for long run. Nunez ticks the boxes perfectly for me but I can't get him without minus points and that is a big no in this GW. Who is your Ace in the sleeve?

Probably gonna just change the keeper since Raya won't keep clean sheet for sure and I have very respectable team otherwise and would actually like to even play all the bench players.

I'm not taking any hits this week, already used my free transfer. No way in hell i'm staying tomorrow for team leaks with City having the early fixture for the third week in a row only to have the website crash again, no thanks. I had enough of Pep's "we will see" comments. lol I don't care if Haaland starts or not, my team looks good.

Trent will not be on my team after the World Cup if he does not get something against the coachless Saints. That's all he's got this season: a goal, an assist, a clean sheet against Bournemouth, and another clean sheet against West Ham, mind-boggling.    At least both of those epic returns came at home...and Liverpool hasn't conceded a goal against Southampton at Anfield since 2017, or six matches in a row. I'm certainly not trying to jinx him, am i?

I thought of going all out with points hits for the final game week but my team looks pretty decent imo too, just a bit of luck with the captaincy this time around is all I hope for, I really don't think there is any need to play or fall for Guardiola's mind games and unpredictability.

I need to be rid of the last Chelsea player on my team which is Mason Mount, giving both him and Aubameyang the chance are two major reasons for my decline over the past few weeks but, I'm done with that now.. I'll definitely be having 3 Newcastle players on my team after the world cup, and no Chelsea for me at least probably for the reminder of the season, they just aren't worth it!

not sure, give it a thought to captain him, but it is a risky move on City home match with Brentford, it could end up as another hattrick for Haaland, that will send me down the ladder, so Haaland stays C

nevertheless, still having three players from Liverpool in the team, quite unusual for Everton fan, although my Everton lad, Tarkowski, brought solid number of points, looking at 4.4 million worth

for Haaland, it would be first thing to know this round, is he up to put down everything in last show-up before getting home to watch WC on TV

Don't do hits this week unless you can't field good 11 players. No point in changing someone just for slightly better option when you have free transfers from next GW. It is really though for transfer to pay itself in one GW unless you are doing something like Mitrović who will not play to Haaland with cash in the bank. That one is worth -4 for sure.

I am sure Guardiola either plays FPL or hates FPL managers from bottom of his heart...What he does each season seams too much too be coincidental.

Salah is putting really good underlying numbers for about a month now, it just happened that his good chances in Europe went in while those in PL did not. I am counting on him as back for good. If Haaland isn't in first 11 and site works, Salah will be my captain.

If you know better, you'd do better, they say... I should have known better than take a 4 points hit to bring in that curly hair bast**d, but at least, he did me favor by not scoring because it would have been another blow to me because of those that had him has their captain, but I probably would have been better of with Mason Mount, he's in Chelsea starting XI, and except he picks up a booking, I would have been better off, even if he pick up just a yellow card.

I'm glad I stayed on with Ward, 8 points already and there's 3 more coming for the bonus,

I took Salah off my team for two games and he can't stop scoring; perhaps I should stop listening to other people's opinions and focus more on my own analysis and intuition. I'm glad I didn't bring Halaand back for GW 15 and GW 16, I knew he'd struggle after that injury, he was lucky to have scored the PK in GW 15 and I'd agreed slightly with you on Pep punishing FPL managers with his lineup, once you become the most transfer in player in his team, he kept you on the bench for 3 games.... This happened to Foden holders.

No you don't get any unused chip back after the World Cup, the only thing you'll get is unlimited transfer during the world cup break and the 2nd wild card after the week 18, every other chip that have been used are gone, and all unused chip will remain valid except the wild card which you can't have more than one at a time, that's the only chip that would have gone to waste if not used before this game week.

This is pretty interesting, so I get to remake my whole draft for free? Its not that I want to change alot though but I figure that I wanna drop some of my useless bench out of my draft and some other players to try things out. Im pretty much at the bottom of the league so yeah trying some new things out wouldnt hurt as technically Im pretty much out of this competition already

Things could have gone even better for me if it hadn't been for that fifth yellow card Maddison got a couple of weeks ago that nearly destroyed my team. It forced me to make transfers i didn't want to do, to take hits i didn't want to take, and it had a domino effect, causing bad things to happen one after the other. Hopefully, the last two rounds were not as bad. I'm surprised no one else in our league took a punt on Nunez, he was such a good/obvious pick this week...

Some of the free chips didn't really help me much because I didn't know what triple captain was when I used it in Game Week 1; but, considering that it was the only round in which I finished first in the pool,  it was not a horrible decision. Now that I'm entering the second half of the season without any free chips, I must effectively utilize the ultimate transfers or else I'm out of the game.

I'm surprised no one else in our league took a punt on Nunez, he was such a good/obvious pick this week...

I almost got him, but I couldn't go more than -4 this week due to financial constraints. My only regret is continuing to rely on G. Jesus to score, but the fact that his goal drought persisted made me realize that Pep had sold him because he wasn't a reliable goal scorer. That's the type of striker he is; I can't wait to keep him off my payroll

I somehow managed to get a win as well in the overall cup, I won the tie by 4 points, It was a very close call, luckily for me my opponent, had Willock on his bench and he wasn't his first choice sub, if not those 11 points from Willock would have ensured my elimination.

Do players' prices rise or fall as a result of their performance in the World Cup? What about the players who have been left behind? I assumed that the only effect of the World Cup would be on player injuries.

A period of unlimited free transfers in FPL is subtly different to a wildcard: player prices are locked during this period, which means no price rises or price falls. There were price changes following the conclusion of the weekend’s fixtures, but there will be no price movements from now until the Gameweek 17 deadline on Boxing Day.

Don't forget the winner of GW17 will get the Ledger Nano X

Is it just me who doesn't understand what's going on? I finished 7th in the pool; am I still in the cup? ( though I have no idea )   

Check it for yourself under leagues and then switch to cup tab. Has nothing to do with league position or even with how good you did. It is all about head to head with the person you were set up with it. I lost cup matches when I had 100 points and won when I had less then 40. Doesn't really matter in the end since it is mostly RNG and you have to have great team plus a lot of luck to pass more then couple of rounds.

I am usually out in Round 1 and I kept my numbers this season as well

I don't know how to explain it in layman's language but I'll try, you know what causes changes in players value is the number of transfers in - numbers of transfers out, what price locked meant is that during world period players current value will not fluctuate, how however if you sell a player you'll lose 50% of your profit earned from when brought the player in, so if later you want to bring the player again before the next game week you'll have to pay the players full current worth, if that makes sense ?

This remains in effect for the World Cup period. For example, Erling Haaland’s current cost is £12.1m. If you owned him at his £11.5m starting price and transferred him out, you’d receive £11.8m. However, if you then decided to bring him back, Haaland would cost you £12.1m.

For further explanation below; is how my defense line looks, Take a look at the value of Trippier and Cancelo, it is 5.6m and 7.2m respectively, so If I'm to trade them out today that's what I'll get for them, However, If tomorrow something comes up and I need get them back in, I'll have to pay the current prices for both players which is 5.9 and 7.4 respectively so, I would have lost 0.5m on both players just for taking them out and bringing them back in again, even though I'm not getting any points hits.

Planning on making the full list of players that I might need and transfer them before the deadline, I hope most players on my list wont ended up being injured

Yes, I will just draw out a list of players I need and their value to suit my needs, I should be able to draw out 2-3 draft of players I'll get and their alternative options during the break, so It will make things less tedious for me when the FPL resumes. That's all if there aren't any surprises  as the world cup progress, some players might not even get to play more than 4 games, so I don't expect loads of injury worries.
