Here's the latest Dev-Update: MaidSafe Dev Update 19th January 2016Follow the proces on GitHub/Maidsafe. The existing NFS, DNS IPC APIs are to be ported to RESTFul APIs in the first version. This will allow us to quickly develop a Drive application which shall interface with Launcher; this will initially be instead of a mounted drive. Going with a standalone application for now will allow us to quickly develop and use the Drive application to test the network with some real data. Below is a mockup for the Drive application that @Scott has been working on.

This is pretty confusing, is there a beta version of this live yet? Can I use a low end pc with large storage space to farm?
They said the Beta version would launch End February / Early March, I'm so hyped!

From the Dev-Update: We have continued to make steady progress on the plans we outlined a couple of weeks ago; we are very much on course to deliver the RUST-5 objectives and for community testing to begin. Thanks as always to all the Dev team members for taking the time to share their progress with the whole SAFE community. Delivering the RUST-5 objectives means they deliver a public network where we can test out the technology. Should be there in the coming weeks, was delayed due to a number of bugs. There was already a local network possible but this will be the real deal where we can connect globally. There's a very long topic on Farming and the best hardware to do so. Not clear that much because nobody was able to test this feature on a global scale yet. But yes, even a low end PC should give you the opportunity to Farm. There's even talk about raspberry pi's etc. David (the inventor of Maidsafe) wants all people to be able to Farm, not only big companies like we see in Bitcoin mining. Best farming hardware

Hello,
What type of encryption will Maidsafe be using?
The only thing I could find is that it might be using RSA 4096 bit encryption.

Rust is a program language. The Maidsafe Dev-team works in so called "sprints" where they focus on delivering results, debugging etc. Rust 5 is sprint number 5. At the end of this sprint we should have installers to connect to and start the global Safenetwork. Hello,
What type of encryption will Maidsafe be using?
The only thing I could find is that it might be using RSA 4096 bit encryption.
Different ones. AES will be there as well. Here's the whitepaper for Self_Encryption. But that one might be different from the PKI.

They said the Beta version would launch End February / Early March, I'm so hyped! Hmm I guess there will be delays like in all projects. Pretty funny I missed that this projects even exists an it's 2 years since the Ann and saw a youtube where one told it was already 7 years in development before !? Q: What is MaidSafeCoin on Bittrex? https://www.bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-MAIDCan this coins be converted into SafeCoins once the net starts? edit: just read up from first post: "Once the full SAFE network is launched, MaidSafeCoins will be swapped for safecoins at a 1:1 ratio." Highly confusing this many coins bridges. So is this MaidSafe (MAID) on bittrex = MaidSafeCoin? Anyway I will wait till the net runs.

2 days after the technical dev-update, Maidsafe developer Ross created a new blogpost on the Maidsafe website: Maidsafe Blog: Development UpdateHere are some highlights: All of our energy and effort in the last few months has been focused upon delivering a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) as quickly as possible. What will the MVP look like and what will you be able to do with it? The MVP will enable users to install the software and connect to the network from their computer, store and retrieve files, browse sites hosted on the SAFE Network and message other users.
