They'll be exchanged 1:1 maidsafecoin to safecoin. They'll probably have a script to automate the process.

Is it confirmed to launch in January? No. Nothing is confirmed regarding launch/specific date. That doesn't mean that progress isn't being made...peruse https://www.maidsafe.org/...for more information.

How could I run a database-driven website via MaidSafe? I can't imagine how a running database could be encrypted, chunked, and distributed.

i really hope maidsafe will come and succeed, but i cannot see anything anywhere? dont want to provoke, but there anything to look at? one could argue that nothings exists or am i just a poor researcher (i hope so). when i look at supernet for example I can follow every step and every line of code JL777 creates and I can be sure that the project exists.

I and others have posted a link to the Maidsafe forum multiple times over the last several pages... One difference between Maidsafe and JL777 is that JL777 works alone and as such feels a need to constantly update his followers (which isn't bad but he focuses quite a bit on the speculative nature of what he is doing). Maidsafe doesn't do that. The project is solid and forward progressing as can be seen through the following forum. https://www.maidsafe.org/

How did the Maidsafe team handle the huge value loss of mastercoin as, if i remember correctly, most of the IPOs funds came in mastercoin?

They posted a public document addressing the situation here... https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Oo8bYKRarkG7S0YUJgP_-8Izkks9EZ1j_0bQ8dz6ahM/editEssentially, they expected it to be mostly a BTC sale and had to buy back some of the funds in order to insure that the sale would be open for BTC buyers (it sold out in five hours but because of the buyback, the sale lasted for a few days). I believe they ended up with a relevant loss on the projected crowd sale total because of this...it's a rather comprehensive retrospective analysis linked above.

Youtube video uploaded on the First of November this year...describing some of the tests on TestNet 2. Pretty cool and provides a definitive answer to recent questions on if Maidsafe is still going...; ) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZU3pkijOa-E

Just a suggestion: The videos for MAID, aren't too clear and have audio issues, annotations help but still would be nice the have better quality on them. Maybe the equipment needs to be upgraded?

excepts the asks are much weaker
Relative to when? I bought less than a week ago at 51 and the asks on both exchanges are higher as of now... As for coinmarketcap, the price has increased a bit since it was switched over to the assets category. It should also be noted that once the switch to Safecoin occurs, it will return to being listed with currencies since it will no longer be a Mastercoin asset (it's a token now until the network goes live and occurred as a function of the crowd sale). There is the beginning of a discussion on promotion, though, on the Maidsafe forums. Some are thinking that there is no need for it due to the nature of the project...but I am sure that any and all perspectives are welcome...; ) https://www.maidsafe.org/t/does-projectsafe-actually-need-promotion/2030to before that 1.8million buy And I disagree. I've been watching it like a hawk and we have seen nothing but growth. Any weaker signs (which I don't recall since 51) from a market perspective are likely the result of bots. Regardless...today was a pretty good day regarding asks...; ) I've been watching the market closely too. It appears that someone with a lot of btc is slowly buying up large amounts of maidsafe. A sort of bullwhale, if you know what I mean. There it goes again. 120 btc worth of maidsafe bought. The wall at .0000775 is almost eaten, and that's the only major sell wall for maidsafe. I wonder what will happen after that.

I think it's because the project is very ambitious in its goals. I've been reading some of the threads on maidsafe.org and it's apparent that this is way beyond being just another altcoin. They don't really even talk about the safecoin currency much but mostly focus on the innovative features of the SAFE network.
