Developing an app for Karma is certainly a good idea. However, we may be missing the broader market opportunity.

For example, let's say we build an app where people do X with/for Karma. It's somewhat popular and gets 10,000 downloads.

But what if we took the same time, resources, and developer and made an app for a much broader market (game, utility, whatever). Nevermind about Karma. It's also popoular, but doesn't have any marketplace friction like 'Karma' preventing people from using or understanding it. It gets 100,000 downloads or more.

We probably can't monetize the first, but we could monetize the second.

The second would cause the price of Karma to rise (because of the revenue from the project), which prompts more people to use Karma and install the wallet.

The first is just something cool we do for Karma.

If the end-game is to increase adoption and the price of our coin so we can do good things for the community and others, then the second option is preferable.

Why not doing both ?

-One fun game with KARMA elephant, people win real karmas, it would be a community game.
-One other app/game, no karma-oriented, reaching 100 000 downloads and bringing income and value.

Don't forget that the community entertainment is an important part for crypto-users. Dogecoin rised only with fun/entertainment.
Sure, it may not bring much value, but pure entertainment may catches focus on us and give smile to stressed people (and there is a lot with all those pumps, dumps, market manipulations...).

It is cute!

But you can make it much more professional while maintaining the same concept.

For instance, there is some problem with the frame rate (number of frames per second), because the letters make small jumps (also called "judder" in the video domain), and you used the "Karma" logo with a black background in the beginning of the video (the background should be white, or light gray).

What application did you use to make the video?

Man ! I just did this video in about 20 minutes, for the fun. First I'd just filmed my cat with the Karma logo and then I had more ideas, adding text, voice then logo. I use Cyberlink PowerDirector, free edition, first time I used it. I can do it more professional if you want.

I can create a Karma Android game if you think it is a good idea.

I've done some games in the past just for my amusement.
But I think I'm a good programmer overall and I can program a game (even reuse a lot of the spare code I accumulated with my past project).

I would just like someone to join me as a designer.
Because although I can program fine, my design skills are a little lacking.

I was in karmacoin in the early beginning, but switched then to other coins. But the karma community seems (atleast to me) being one of the strongest and activest community here on bitcointalk

If karmacoin could get it's own android/iphone game, where ppl could earn real karma coin, i guess we could get much more attention.

Just as an example: If a game like flappy bird, for every stage you clear you get an amount of karmas. starting very low and growing bigger and bigger.

This would also bring the cryptocurrency directly into the android game appstore !!

For the first prototype I would need.

A high quality PNG image with a Karmacoin.
I think that it your be nice to have a coin with a 3D effect like the one from the CoinO website (http://coino.org/).
It looks awesome.
This can easily be acomplished with 5~10 frames (5~10 PNG images) will all positions of the coin.

I need an image of an elefant (or whatever animal/character we prefer).
It would also be nice if the elephant/characted was animated.
So, 5~10 frames representing movement of the elephant (legs with different positions, etc).

I will also need a theme song and some sound effects for:

• catching a coin
• lose a life
• game over

I also need a nice font for the menus and for the overlay information on the game (lives, score, etc).
There are lots of fonts here: https://www.google.com/fonts
We just need to find 2 or 3 nice looking ones, to experiment with.

Who can help me with this?

I will do all programming of the game.

I'd be happy to donate a million Karma to a fund to distribute the coins from. Generating income should not be the goal of the first app IMO. It needs to be as widely spread as possible and get Karma into people's hands and minds.

If you need some help give me a shout, I've worked on a few apps/games before and got a background in 3D graphics. I don't have terribly much time, but I know that often its the little things that help completing a project. God knows I have a dozen or so unfinished projects lying around myself, because I can't seem to finish the last 20% of work, LOL.

I purchased a few game soundeffect packs a while back for my own games. I'll see if I can find them in my archive, should be enough variety in there for the game ptman is describing...
