Hello everyone! I would like to ask: What is the current Tps of Monero?thank you!
Not sure, last i remember was 1500 or something, better to ask this on freenode #monero-dev for the latest. irc://chat.freenode.net/#monero-dev That seems waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too high. If Bitcoin with 1 MB every 10 min can do 7 tps, which is easier to verify and has smaller txs, then there's no way I could see Monero doing 200x that. Can the developer verify it?

I would think the answer could be infinity... right? Since we have adaptive block sizes, technically people can cram as many tx’s as possible if people are willing to pay the price? Edit: shameless plug... there are still more Spesmonerujo notes for sale to support development, and will be the last of these Boron Butterfly notes produced. If anyone is interested PM me or post on the thread you want some https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5182081.0

Protocol-wise, in theory, yes. In practice it certainly wouldn't be technologically possible for any node to actually process infinity-sized blocks, and there are also some practical limits of the implementation such as integer overflows in block size calculations. The big bang protection that was forked in at some point limits the rate of block size growth, so if extreme growth started happening there should be ample opportunity to address these issues via updates, including figuring out where the actual hardware limits might be and what to do about it. Big bang protection kicks in at 50x so that would be 15 MB blocks every 2 minutes. At that point, block size growth would slow way down.

So 15728640 bytes \\15MB before throttling /120 \\2 minutes 131072 bps \\max bps before Big Bang Protection (added CNv4) /2560 \\~2.5kb bulletproof transaction size https://web.getmonero.org/2017/12/07/Monero-Compatible-Bulletproofs.html=51.2 theoretical TPS I wonder why i was thinking it was 1500 theoretical? Was that a best guess before that patch? Probably my mind is just completely done now.

There was once an estimate close to that which was purely based on CPU validation. However it was before ringCT+bulletproofs and may not even be close any more (I'm not sure). Plus of course CPU validation alone is not sufficient; running the network also requires nodes with sufficient network bandwidth and storage. Hopefully we could handle more than 50 tps currently, at least for a time before nodes start running out of disk space, etc. That's just the point where big bang protection kicks in and further growth slows, not a cap.

So are “big bang protections” just higher fees to incentivize people to send as much, or something else?

No, it has nothing to do with fees (at least not directly, although any surge in demand that greatly increases the blocksize would also imply increasing fees in practice). Big bang protection was a reworking of the dynamic blocksize so the growth rate slows way down after a 50x increase. An increase from the existing blocksize limit equilibrium (which at present is the minimum of 300 KB) of up to 50x can happen within a relatively short time if demand calls for it, but further increases are slowed way down and take place on the scale of months or years. In practice this is done with a dual median, one of the past 100 blocks and one over the past 100000 blocks. Here is some of the original discussion of the big bang attack: https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/aj21yt/big_bang_attack_on_xmr/

It seems to me that the crypto industry has only a few coins that rightfully have a chance in the future. These are Bitcoin and Monero. Moreover, Monero’s fate will obviously be difficult, as he will most likely be outlawed. And Bitcoin will become a classic investment tool.
It seems as outlawed but there are a lot of people who in crypto like to be crypto. They will like to put their money in monero. There are a lot of people who do not want to show to their relatives and friends that they are gambling and for it they will need coins which will ensure full privacy. These are the things which will keep Monero alive in the crypto world.

Any accusation like fraud, dangerous will not kill Monero. Over years, Monero will become stronger and more favorite by crypto enthusiasts, especially among privacy-maniac crypto users. I agree that such news (negatively) usually have bad effects on price, in short term. Fortunately, in long term, price is not affected, and Monero has its powerful to survive thoroughly such types of attacks.
This year is a tough one for altcoins but good altcoins have all survived very well so far, and they have all rallied considerably last three months. In my perspective, next two years will be great ones for altcoins and honestly I expect as nearly same exponential growths for altcoins as the year of 2017.

Just a week prior to the report, German police had investigated a 0.1 BTC transfer which was sent to the wallet of the Halle synagogue killer, whose attack was allegedly funded by the local far-right community.Yes, the killer probably handled Euros, too. Lazy thinking. What's dangerous? Not currency. Human hate is dangerous.

These news just come when they do not know much about a coin. Many organizations and people also published such news against bitcoin and after knowing about it they confirmed that it is a better coin just like one of the person in congress told to Mark Zuckerberg that he have to adopt bitcoin as none of the power can harm bitcoin. I will say that these people have to eliminate the crimes from their regions then none of the currency will be dangerous.

I was looking for information about new projects, I wanted to chat with people and came across your chat. I was surprised that there are so many messages. What are you all talking about here? impossible to write so much about the project)

It depends on how old and how good the project is. Just take a look on how much discussion Bitcoin brings (and just ignore the spam). Why would Monero not bring ... less than 1/100 of that amount? Maybe you'll read more and understand that it's a good coin and the discussion around it is far from an "impossible" amount.
