Why don't we merge mine 10 different coins instead of just 2? That would allow us to earn 5 times as many different kinds of coins.
With FoldingCoin you can earn additional coins. Being on CURE allows you to earn CURE in addition to our tokens. Please read up here http://foldingcoin.net/alttokens/ but the current tokens you can earn are: POWC - Powcoin SCOTCOIN - Scotcoin OCTO - Octoparty (in 2 weeks) Unannounced - We have another coin we will be announcing soon FLDC - of course FoldingCoin If you use a username like this one: PookTwo_ALL_16muW9htJAYrrXrKN8BwWTmT6cgXscXDzJ And if you are on the Curecoin team, you will earn all the above coins (plus any we add in the future) and CURE I don't understand how the Curecoin payouts work with the merged folding, I've been merge folding on a Curecoin team but I have yet to receive any Curecoin at Counterparty.

On counterparty you should be receiving FLDC, and if you are on team 224497 and have a matching account on cryptobullionpools.com, you should be receiving Curecoin to your Curecoin wallet, which isn't tied to Counterparty

Yes i agree that big Pharma is bad. They create tons of medicines such as ecstasy and Ritalin that hurt people more then help. However, things like antibodies and other actual disease related medicines are indeed an important part of the world and you cannot possible think that all medicines created by pharma companies are harmful. Things like ebola, cancer, malaria, ext... REQUIRE medicine and that is what folding is trying to help, not create the next anti depressant drug. It would be nice if medicine was free and not controlled by big companies, but hell, it would be nice if other great things like college education is free. But its not. We live in a world that is controlled by big companies, this is a sad fact. However, things like FAH and the results that are created from FAH are available to any researcher who wishes to use the results. Yes its probably going to be a pharma company, but the results are available for anyone. So some smaller pharma firm that has better ethics then the big ones could actually create the same medicines and charge less. The results from FAH are good either way you slice it, i respectfully disagree with your statement but would love to continue this conversation should you respond again

As long as big pharm actually develops CURES then that is OK, but I think it is much more profitable business model to develop TREATMENT DRUGS that patients must stay on indefinitely. Does big pharm even want cures? I think in this day and age that CURES will only be found in the realm of public research institutions not private, alas most governments looking to cut taxes to appease the idiots put sciences on the chopping block first.

Thats the good thing about FAH, is it is created by the community and available to anyone with proper credentials. And i do agree that treating is more profitable, however, that particular topic starts going down the road of conspiracy theories relating to medical corruption which is very hard to comment on when one is not a medical expert. Calling out government corruption is easier to do because its something most of us in this space understand and can provably verify that its a better system to trust a blockchain then the fed reserve, but saying that they havent created a cure for cancer because treatment is more profitable would require an expert opinion in the medical field for me to get on board with that theory. Unless you have some good sources/documentation that you can provide so i can read up on

Cure cancer? You mean create Big Pharma drugs. This is worse than mining pointless algorithms. Terrible. Your Big Pharma skepticism maybe somewhat warranted, but it's not just about cancer (or even medical research). The laws are set up to ensure companies who purchase patents based on university research must "use it or lose it" (although arguably that can be difficult to enforce). Recent Fields of study for FAH Include:Non-Medical Fields Studied:Bio-Fuels and Custom Enzymes for industrial processes like making bio-degradable plastics Bio-Energy (cellulase enzymes with long lifetime at high temperature) Exo-Biology research like the Miller–Urey experiment recreated in-silico uncovering 600 previously unknown organic molecules. General polypeptide Folding Machinery (we might be driving cars made out of proteins one day)) Computer Science - Managing and securing the worlds largest supercomputer (outside of Bitcoin) Recent Diseases Studied:Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) Huntington’s Disease (HD) Cancer (breast cancer, ovarian cancer, prostate cancer) Chagas Disease Malaria HIV Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) Diabetes Type II (on your Chrome browser) Antibiotic Efficacy and development Parkinson’s Disease (PD) Viral diseases Pandemic Influenza Bird Flu Ebola (listed for the Android Folding App) ALL OF THE ABOVE REDUCE THE RELIANCE ON ANIMAL TESTING Also consider that certificate based blockchain technology makes CureCoin adaptable to many other DCN projects like: - earthquake prediction
- weather modeling
- mineral resource location prediction from satellite data
- astrophysics
- even distributed crash test simulation and mechanical tolerance FEA
If nothing else, consider this a way to share the wealth of Big Pharma, and a way to actually steer and fund new research NOT covered by government grants. This opens up a feedback loop for innovation: https://www.curecoin.net/inside-curecoin/dev-blog/72-endometriosis-pilot-study-descriptionSome other links of interest: Full index of over 600 active FAH projects:http://fah-web.stanford.edu/new/psummary.htmlDistributed (56) Work Assignment Servers in a FAH Worldwide Consortium:http://fah-web.stanford.edu/pybeta/serverstat.html...

Also note that the current effectiveness of a treatment is not a measure of its importance. If it can alleviate symptoms and suffering it is valuable. But if a large group with power blocks that treatment from being accessible or a viable option, that has nothing to do with medicine or the research informing it. That is a separate issue.
As it stands, all I have to do is leave my computer on (I do this anyway) and consume about the same amount of electricity a lightbulb does in order to fuel research. Why the hell not? Might be different if electricity was more scarce around here, .10,.15, .20 cents/kwh might be pushing it.

Also note that the current effectiveness of a treatment is not a measure of its importance. Agreed ... the discoveries can affect outcomes 20 years from today. On the cost of electricity, it's important to consider the initial goal of science coins like Curecoin is just to pay for the electricity bills (based on the most efficient system - which will be somewhere between $0.05-$0.07 per coin) ... but the average overall cost per coin for the average user can be in the $0.15 per coin in power alone when using older CPU/GPU hardware and repeatedly timed-out work units. Thats not including maintenance or ROI on potentially high-end equipment So its not a trivial amount when you get serious about it ... the market is slow to catch on to these facts however ... research isn't free.

Hi guys,
Are we ready for curecoin 2.0? launch in two weeks or is there a new plan?
Any screenshot or code to show us
Thanks
Here's a rough schedule: April 26: VanityGen address app April 26: Test code for certificate authority verification and message signing April 28: Blockchain database code May 10: Final certificate format (and software to generate/sign/verify certificates) May 17: GUI and full daemon (beta, may nor may not have multisig working) May 17: Final whitepaper If multisig doesn't make it into the May 17 beta, it'll be out a week or two later at most. And then whenever we and the community think the evolving beta is stable and workable, we'll launch the final blockchain. A large portion of the 2.0 source base is/will be rewritten code based on existing currencies. It's all 'from scratch,' but most of it doesn't have anything special about it. Things that are special: -Curecoin v2 Addressing (Merkle Trees) -Blockchain format (similar in spirit to 'cryptonite xcn' (not to be confused with Monero/etc.)) -Certificate format (Outlined before on forums) -Multisig addresses You can look at some of the fun code for addressing and Merkle Tree generation: http://www.curecoinmirror.com/CC2.0Code.zip

The staking instructions are in the knowledgebase pages. There is no staking button per-say, but the wallet will start staking automatically when unlocked: Follow the instructions at the bottom of this page and you should be good: https://www.curecoin.net/knowledge-base/13-knowledge-base/mining-curecoin/38-what-are-the-proof-of-stake-details BTW - you don't need the single quotes around your command for it to work.
