Dooglus, Would you be so kind as to post an updated chart showing what percentage of the CLAMs have been given out in each distribution block similar to the one you posted about a month ago? Thanks!
That chart took multiple hours to generate, so I don't really want to do that again. It burns my fingers as I type due to the CPU getting so hot. But I can tell you that "the digger" is down to block 7157 now. So the chart will almost certainly look the same, but with the jump from low to high happening at block 7157 instead of at a higher numbered block. Oh yikes, didn't realize it was that intensive lol. The block number should be enough info. Thanks! All shalt bow before The Great CLAM. It is written.

There was some 'interesting' price action on bittrex recently: That looks a lot like someone buying 133 CLAMs for 66 BTC, with the last 6 CLAMs selling for 6 BTC. CLAM finally reached BTC-parity? I expect it was just a costly typo - but who knows. I was watching that also, and was like dang someone input the wrong info on a bot or they are drinking some really good stuff. It will be nice when 1:1 is the case though

If I recall correctly he was working backwards in time towards block 0, right? So if someone could just remind me of approximately how many blocks he digs per unit time again ...

Did you see this? https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/3nqfww/bigvern_on_twitter_cryptsy_halts_bitcoin/It may not be related. MtGox blamed transaction malleability shortly before shutting down. I hope cryptsy doesn't go the same way.

Make sure you put in a support ticket. The same thing happened to me on Cryptsy. This was their response: "I am really sorry for any inconvenience this may have cause you. However, we are seeing a delay when it comes to processing CLAM transactions. Our technical support team is aware of this issue and they are working on a fix. Please know that you have the option to cancel these transactions to return the coins back to your balance if you like. Just kindly let me know by responding to this ticket so I can process it for you. We greatly appreciate your understanding and patience."After this happened 3 times, I finally transferred everything out. I was wondering if they were holding the CLAMs for staking. Very Odd.

How many clams per wallet address is a good amount now for staking? Is there a formula?
The commonly held idea at the moment seems to be splitting the pile up into smaller pieces makes staking more efficient - the concept being that a smaller portion of your entire balance is maturing at any given time. That said, this equation likely depends on the total amount you are staking and a variety of other factors. Something between 10 CLAM and 100 CLAM is a good place to start. If you intend to stake long-term (such that smaller piles will almost certainly stake "eventually"), and have enough of a balance to make it worth it, something near 10 CLAM might make sense. On the other hand, if you have a smaller total balance, intend to stake only for the short/mid-term, the marginal gains of splitting smaller may be out-weighed by the fact that extremely small piles may never stake.
I am sorry that this advice is less than precise or definitive. Just-Dice.com, the largest staker, targets 1% of the total balance "immature" at a given time; if that helps.

Thanks for the reply!
It is worth mentioning that splitting your piles smaller will not increase your absolute chance to stake (assuming all piles are mature). It is intended to increase efficiency as the piles cycle in and out of maturity. But, the network difficulty is quite high, relatively of course. Last I remember hearing, it took an output of 500 CLAM to stake once a day. That would suggest that even a pile of 50 CLAM could be expected to stake only once every 10 days. Of course, a marginal interest rate of 0.2% per day, not even considering compound interest, is nothing to be unhappy about. Adjust your expectations accordingly.

It is worth mentioning that splitting your piles smaller will not increase your absolute chance to stake (assuming all piles are mature). Right, but it won't decrease it either. Your expected return is the same from your actively staking CLAMs no matter what size piles you use. The things that change are: 1) the percentage of time each unit of value spends maturing (this goes down the more you split) 2) the amount of CPU it takes to check for staking opportunitys (this goes up the more you split) 3) the size of the transaction when you eventually want to spend your coins (this goes up the more you split) So that's the tradeoff - balance 1 against 2 and 3.

This is very strange. If they're having a problem with their CLAM wallet, why don't they report an issue in the CLAM bug tracker? 3 day delays are not normal. The longest I've even seen the client take to make a withdrawal in around 60 seconds. The coin selection code can be slow when it has a massive pile of outputs to chose between.

Don't worry, i'm sure their "Wallet Experts" are on top of the issue... No, I cannot even type that with a straight face. Next they'll say "48 hours", and 2 months later it still won't be fixed. Cryptsy is absolutely terrible when it comes to communicating issues to coin devs.
